Their roti-flavored bread is delish… just the right combo of «Asian» sweetness(not over the top sugary) with the mochi flavors baked inside. Each one I bought: original, matcha, blueberry and mocha was delicious! I didn’t realize that you had to order off the menu for the donuts, I thought they’d be displayed but wasn’t when I walked in. Next time, I will need to take people’s reviews and order a bacon doughnut. I really give it a 3.5 due to the roti break. Perhaps in the future when I order any of the drinks or the doughnuts, I can change my review.

Bro, life is too short; don’t waste a cheat meal. Friendly workers, and a clean shop, but the donuts here simply are NOT actually donuts. They’re way-too-delicate Asian pastries masquerading as donuts. You know, the kind you’d get at those weirdly-popular Asian bakeries. The texture is like a weird soft bread instead of a donut; you might consider this a good thing, but it’s actually less like Krispy Kreme and more like one of those flattened red bean pastries you’d find at Korean or Chinese shops. The«frosting» tastes more like light cream puff filling — meaning it’s overly whipped, has little-to-no sweetness, and has no substance. We tried a green tea donut, a strawberry donut, a Cinnamon Toast donut, and a Fruity Pebbles donut hole. Neither of us enjoyed any of it. Very disappointing. I’m not a donut scientist, but I’ve eaten a TON of donuts. These were the worst I’ve ever had.

When I went to Los Angeles my hotel was in Little Tokyo, which is surrounded by such great restaurants. I had a good friend tell me about Café Dulce, so I immediately placed it on my list. I got three items when I went there. 1. Green Tea Roti 2. Bacon Donut 3. Latte The roti had the perfect amount of sweetness and green tea taste. The bacon donut was pretty good, but I felt like it was too salty. Once I took some of the bacon off it was a lot better. The latte made everything go down smoothly. The barista makes cute hearts on them, which adds a visual plus. Go to this spot for good service and great breakfast goodies.

Falling in deep love with their donuts and coffee goodies. Bacon donut, fruity pebble donut, green tea donut, etc, etc. It doesn’t get any better! My personal favorite is their bacon donut! It’s a mix of both sweet and savory; Totally worth trying if it’s your first time visiting. Their blueberry matcha green tea is pretty good if you’re into fruity flavored drinks. I wasn’t a fan of this since I actually enjoy the bitterness from matcha. Dulce latte; Amazing. 5⁄5. This place never disappoint. Just amazing, hehe.

Every time I visit Little Tokyo, I have to stop in here. It’s located in the heart of the plaza; you can’t miss it! Don’t let the line scare you! They are pretty fast when they take your order, people are usually waiting inside for their drink orders. My absolute favorite thing to get here is the green tea donut and an ice coffee. I take a seat outside and people watch as I enjoy my snack. Your first bite is met with the sugar waking up your taste buds to the sweet deliciousness that is about to come. Then you notice the soft texture of the donut itself contrasting well with the texture of the surface. At long last you are greeted with the creamy green tea filling that puts you in your happy place. A sip of the coffee makes all your stress melt away and all is right with the world, even if only for a moment. Don’t even get me started on the bacon donut…

After trying the green tea donut(which I was obsessed with for a while), the bacon donut(good too), I now only get the green tea brick toast. It is so good. I once bought some for friends visiting from NYC and on subsequent visits, they always go get some to bring home. The green tea brick toast gets 5 stars. I’ve always been disappointed by the drinks I get. The baristas are so friendly but the drinks don’t have me wanting to go back. The milk tea is alright — a little too sweet. I’ll stop by for the green tea toast if I’m in the area.

Café Dulce is seriously the cutest café in little Tokyo. They have the cutest donuts! Although, I think they do not have a wide variety of donuts. They have 3 main donut flavors: bacon donut, fruity pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. My favorite is the bacon donut. The donuts are super soft, so you definitely can tell they are made fresh everyday. I’m a big fan of green tea lattes so no surprise that I would try their blueberry green tea latte and their regular green tea latte. I didn’t really care for their blueberry green tea latte, but it wasn’t bad. I guess I’m just not a fan of the whole green tea and blueberry mixture. But I thought the regular green tea latte was amazing. Overall, I really like the café. It’s in the middle of little Tokyo the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are wonderful. I definitely recommend.

Even though I’ve recently gotten a fancy schmancy Nespresso machine and have been buying coffee far less than often than usual lately, I’m always happy to add another great independent coffee shop to my list. Café Dulce is one of them! I decided that I really needed some coffee while I was on my long break and stopped in for an iced latte. The one I ordered was called the Dulce, after the café. I ordered it with soy milk because I’m trying to cut down on dairy. It was great — super fresh, perfectly sweet(not too sweet, but just enough), a good size. I also ordered a green tea donut from their intriguing case of desserts, for my mom. I sampled the donut and wasn’t a fan, but I also generally dislike donuts(I know — blasphemous!), so I can’t fault them for that. Great little place to stop by for coffee/dessert while in Little Tokyo. I recommend it!

It’s donuts galore here at Café Dulce! Once you lay eyes upon their gorgeous display of freshly made donuts and other sweets, you may find it hard to resist going YOLO on that diet. This Little Tokyo establishment is one of those places where the food tastes as good as it looks. I decided to stop by here during lunch and grab a latte and some donuts. After much deliberation, I settled for the Green Tea Roti, a Fruity Pebble donut hole and bacon donut hole. Café Dulce is known for their rotis, which are basically sweet breads that are baked with a layer of crunchy sweet crust. If you’re a fan of Asian pineapple buns or pan dulce, you’ll love its subtle sweetness. The Green Tea roti’s exterior was crispy all over and the inside fluffy and filled with some sort of green tea jam. It paired nicely with the matcha green tea latte I sipped on. As for the donut holes, I was surprised to see how much bigger they were in comparison to most donut holes I’ve come across. Not that I’m complaining, more for me! I wasn’t too big of a fan of the bacon donut was I found the bacon too salty and strong in flavor for a donut. However, I absolutely LOVED the Fruity Pebble donut hole. Piled high with a generous layer of velvety whipped cream, the cereal was perfectly fresh and crunchy and complemented to the light, chewy donut.

I am incredibly and happily surprised! Ive been seeing tons of photos from Café Dulce and finally were able to truck our butts out and venture towards Jtown! Parking may be a bit difficult but the structures do offer $ 8 parking as that might be a bit hefty it does take you straight into the market place where Café Dulce is held as well as many other popular Ramen places. The donuts here are not like any others ive had and to be frank I am not so much of a donuts person at all so it says a lot when all I can think about is their strawberry whipcream donuts and their cream filling. I love that its not overly sweet but gives you enough hints of the flavor that makes you want to buy the whole store! Even though majority of what I tried including the Matcha blueberry latte which was perfect(not overly sweet is the key)! I was not too impressed with the cereal donuts. They just taste stale to me, like soft cookies placed on top of glazed donuts. Overall I would come back for more that is for sure!

I had high hopes for this place. really high hopes. I was so disappointed with everything I ordered… from the tapioca bun, to the green tea roti, to the bacon donut(ok, this wasn’t too bad), and lastly to the Hong Kong style milk tea. Maybe I just didn’t order the right things? The tapioca chewy roll just tasted like dough. The green tea roti which seemed popular based on its reviews was not to my liking. I didn’t like the filling inside, kinda tasted like condensed milk. The Hong Kong style milk tea’s flavor was too light… tasted a bit watery. Maybe it would’ve tasted better cold? The bacon donut was probably the best thing I had. It tasted like a turkey leg from Disneyland. Very interesting combo. For me, first impressions are important, and I’m sure other people can say the same. If I don’t have a good experience at a place, why come back right? I mean there are second chances, but since I’m not from LA, I wouldn’t go out of my way on a vacation to visit this place again. Just not my cup of tea I guess =/

The donuts are reasonably priced, with many donut flavors and options to choose from. The quality of the donut itself is great. Not too greasy, bland, or cheap tasting. However, for the donuts with cereal on it(or at least the Cinnamon Toast Crunch one and Fruity Pebbles one), it’s a whipped cream-tasting thing that keeps the cereal on the donut, which makes it a little messier than most donuts. Don’t get me wrong, it’s delicious and the cereal isn’t at all soggy or stale, but I could easily have just wipe off the whipped cream with cereal and made it a plain donut haha. I also had the bacon one which was good as well. Nice size of bacon pieces(about ¾ in), instead of the usual bacon sprinkles like other places.

It was my first time here so I ordered a half dozen and asked the guy to choose the top 6 donuts for me :) –Green tea(with cream inside): yummy — Strawberry jelly: it blew me away! Picture two donut halfs with strawberry jelly(with slices of strawberry) in the middle, topped with strawberry glaze and drizzled with chocolate. It’s def one of my fav donuts of all time… ever. — Creamy: good — Cinnamon toast crunch: sprinkled on a layer of cream… okay –Maple macadamia nut: good — Bacon: would love for the bacon to be more crispy: P –Fruity pebbles donut holes: perfect bite size… just missing a cup of milk! :) They ran out of hot Hong Kong milk tea so I tried an iced HKMT: good Cappuccino: yummy and the art was so pretty! They validate for an hour so bring your parking tix!

Here we are years later and Café Dulce is still #1 in my heart. That may not seem like such a big deal but if you understood that I literally travel for coffee and espresso, you’d know that I take my caffeine game seriously. seriously. | S E R V I C E | Although some of the faces have changed and the menus have been updated, Café Dulce still offers some of the yummiest and creative beverages, pastries, and now lunch options! But no matter how things change, J. Choi and his band of amazing staff always make me feel at home. I am so in love with how he’s managed to have the crème of the crop everything but still stay a humble ‘mom and pop’ like shop. | E A T | Snickers Donut. Yes. Do it. You’re so very welcome. | D R I N K | Feeling like a cold drink? Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte. Need a little more warmth than your boo’s arm can offer? Extra Hot Dulce Latte with 2 Add Shots. I understand not a lot of people are looking to be cracked out with caffeine coursing through their veins like I do but trust me when I recommend something. :) | P A R K I N G | The parking structure on Central and 1st is 1 hour free parking with validation from CD. But if you’re looking to hang out, my secret is to park in front of Angel City Brewery on Alameda and Traction: 10 hour parking! It’s $ 4 for all 10 hours and someone always pays it in full so it’s usually free. The only downfall is no bathroom at Café Dulce. But it’s something I can live without since a lot of the neighboring markets offer a public restroom –just be respectful!

$ 1 donut holes. Yeah…$ 1 Fruity Pebbles and $ 1 Bacon donut holes. SCORE!!! Dulce Lattes… delicious as well. After dinner, I knew I had to have dessert and coffee, Café Dulce hit the spot. The establishment is super bright and vibrant that walking passed the store makes you want to stop in. Go for their coffee and funky donuts… everything’s affordable and the staff was friendly as well. I’m sure you can’t just have one Fruity Pebble donut hole!

So glad I finally made it to Café Dulce! Having been in the area so many times and had the hardest time finding parking, that really is the worth thing about this area, such a pain. Either way, service was fantastic and I wanted one of everything, it looked SO good! Prices are actually pretty fair at $ 1 for the small donuts and $ 2.50 for the regular so you can stock up. My favorite would have to be the strawberry, usually not my thing, but this was filled with real strawberries, tons of them, I would come back for a dozen of these alone next time! The spirulina churro also tasty, my son enjoyed the bacon as well as the fruity pebble ones. Worth checking out, some of the best donuts I have taste in awhile!
