The food was good but the service was not. We ordered Ramen along with all our other food, and it never came. When we asked halfway through l our meal, we were told the«ramen was backed up in kitchen» but that’s it. They never checked on us, or refilled our drinks. They seemed put out when we asked for refills. They did ask if we wanted a free dessert at the end, but we were ready to go.

Reviews weren’t too great so I we a little hesitant. While not 5 stars for me, it was definitely a good lunch stop. I had nothing fried just good ramen and a side salad for $ 10.36! Good deal any way you look at it. The beef in my ramen Shoyu was well thought out and executed. Broth was good and noodles were fine. I’ll be back for a quick stop. Now the warning!!! Parking is murder LA charges $ 4.00 an hour for street parking. Check with lots as they can be cheaper.

The place in Little Tokyo it self gives it a bonus. After a good walk we decided to visit this part of LA and to try something we know we won’t regret. Staff were busy but was very friendly with us to ask about their menu and we took our time. We had 3 main dishes and many sides and the food was delicious.

All the food here is absolutely terrible if you’ve ever had quality Japanese food. Everything is either bland or extremely small in regards to portion. My family and I ordered a variety of dishes, and unfortunately nothing stood out. I ordered the Nabe Yaki Udon, and let’s just say the broth tastes like hot water mixed in with egg. I had to add soy sauce into the broth(which I never do), and it was still terrible. My sister ordered the Shio Ramen, which tasted just like chicken broth. My brother’s grilled chicken dish was very bland as well. The pepper tuna was delicious, but very very small. Same with the salmon carpaccio. Overall 5⁄5 would not recommend and will never come back. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. May I add that I asked for my tempura shrimp(for my Nabe Yaki Udon) on the side. When they brought my order, my shrimp was on the side, as I had asked, but it was soggy and wet from the soup. So basically the entire point of me asking for my shrimp on the side was for it to be crunchy, but they put it in the soup and took it out My family and I are leaving now unsatisfied with a ridiculously expensive bill.

I LOVE coming here for the lunch specials! Ever since my bf introduced me to this place I can’t seem to keep myself away! The prices can’t be beat, and I always leave satisfied. The volcano bowl and the green tea soba are my favorites! The refreshing soba cuts the richness of the mayo in the volcano bowl and it’s a quite lovely pairing. Please do try!

I really don’t understand why people are hating on the service here. I find it ridiculous when people expect the service of a five star restaurant in a regular one. ANYWAYS, service was straightforward, not exceptional, but again, I don’t expect exceptional service from a regular restaurant. We ordered the GYOZA and APPETIZERSAMPLER plate(sorry I forgot the actual name) Gyoza was super soft and yummy. Most of the little parts were good, some were interesting, it really depends on how your taste acquires. I ordered the TEMPURAUDON which I loved. There was nothing crazy special about it, but it was still great! My date ordered a ramen bowl. It was good too! This place has a little bit of everything combined. It doesn’t specialize in anything, but instead gives you a huge option of sashimi to udon to ramen. If you want to try amazing dishes, then this isn’t the place for you. But, if you just want to have some dinner with a large Japanese variety, then this place is the one. A plus! It’s open later than the other restaurants(at least it was the night before Thanksgiving)

We passed by that place and decided to go in because the other restaurant we were supposed to go had a long queue. I didn’t expect that much because this restaurant is never filled with lots of customers and the menu looks like those typical American Japanese food. Food– I have to tell you I was wrong. Crab lovers– I love the roll, it came with chunk of dungeness crab and 2 crab legs. The price was only $ 10! I haven’t never been to a Japanese restaurant that serves that ! I consider this is their specialty. Orange Roll– Salmon and roe on top of the rolls, inside it came with real crab meat and avocado. It was very fresh and tasted so good. Ramen(the tradition one) — It was a good portion that came with bamboo root, sprout and cha sin. The texture of the noodle was pretty good, and the broth was not the strong yummy pork soup, I think it was chicken? broth. I liked it. Brussel Sprout tempura– I didn’t check the menu of it, but we all tasted a kick of truffle oil in it. The flour was tiny and the brussel sprout was boiled before fried, so the heart was in a great texture. Service– Was very slow and not very professional . In a nutshell, I am impressed by the quality and portion of food and the price. I don’t understand why people gave 2 or 3 stars for the food. Really?

Business for this place would be so bad if it weren’t for its location. They’re lucky that they’re right smack in the heart of the Japanese Village Plaza. A lot of seating for such a sad restaurant. Got the Sui Gyoza and the Dynamite Roll(with eel). Gyoza was mediocre and the roll was satisfactory. Serviced sucked, and it wasn’t even busy… None of the waiters or waitresses greeted us when my boyfriend and I walked in. They just threw two menus on a table, followed by a «there you go.» Then they continued chatting on about whatever. Their food has a lot of potential, but would not come back again because of the shitty service :(

3 stars for the food and 2 stars for the services. I think they serve slightly better food than other 2 Japanese restaurants in Little Tokyo that I’ve been to, but I wouldn’t bring my friends or important guests here because their services are mediocre at best. We didn’t see a single smile on any of the servers’ faces, they were too relaxed and having a loud chat by our table while we ate, and the cashier(or the server who happened to bring our bill) didn’t even see us and just ignored us when he was standing right by the entrance as we left the restaurant(FYI, we paid a decent amount of tip because one of my family members wanted to). I won’t come back here.

Okay food. Okay service. Nice little patio. We had Edamame, Brussels sprout tempura, tuna roll, chasu ramen. There are better choices in the area I’m sure but portions were big and prices were reasonable.

Was looking for a spot for my ramen fix and this hit the spot. The fried ramen and rayu tofu(spicy sauce on this tofu is amazing!!) were my favs. Tucked away in the Little Tokyo Village shopping center, this ramen and tofu restaurant also has several vegetarian options.

After a long journey to LA(deemed long by Hawaii standards), and hitting up the Japanese American National Museum, it was fitting to go to this place for some eats. Stomach gurgling and whining to get food, some minutes later I was asked what I wanted to eat and I replied ramen. We took a 360 spin and immediately saw Kagura. Ramen and thoughts of stuffing delicious noodles in my face hole pranced around in my head. Some minutes later I was enjoying Chasu ramen complete with moyashi(or bean sprouts). There were generous helpings of chasu, 3 or 4 pretty nicely sized pieces of it floating atop my ramen. The noodles were not overcooked and had a nice chewiness to it(el dente). The flavoring was delicious and not overly salty. On top of it, I even managed to convince my better half that he should share with me the unagi bowl from his three choice set, which by the way was pretty deals. Also, reading on previous reviews, I’d say the waitresses were pretty on top of it. They were friendly and prompt with refilling waters and taking our orders. The only thing I can fault them on was that they took a while to give us our bills and to return it and all once I put my charge card in. Oh well, guess they didn’t want us to leave.

Nothing on their menu has totally blown me away, especially because they do not have any specialties; they have a little bit of everything. You can come here for ramen, sushi, etc. I am a huge sushi person, but none of their sushi dishes ever looked appetizing enough to me to order. I came here Saturday night and got their dumpling ramen(which was recommended by the waitress). Honestly, it was alright. I was not blown away by it. The pork stuffed inside the dumpling tasted kind of weird and very salty for my taste. I have definitely had better ramen at other restaurants. Overall a nice chill place to grab a quick bite to eat, but don’t come in expecting much.

The worst Japanese restaurant in the Japanese village. Staff is slow and unfriendly. They placed my food on the table as if they were angry. Rude. Good is mediocre. Didn’t finish the noodle. kinda gross really. I think home made ramen would have been better… Won’t recommend this place to anybody. Avoid this at all cost. I’m normally pretty lenient and fair on my reviews but this place really is dark, unfriendly and not good!

This place was neither great, nor terrible. Prices were good, and the staff were alright, but it was stuffy inside, and it took a ridiculous amount of time to get my food and my bill. The yakisoba was yuckysoba. The fish was mediocre, and though asked three times to bring us spoons for our soup, spoons never arrived. Won’t return, but that’s because there are plenty of other options.

Juicy spicy chicken bowl The chicken bowl was so good and has a unique flavor that I haven’t tasted at any ramen place before. The price for most of the items are $ 10 give and take. The regular ramen dishes are not your typical pork broth but they use chicken flavored broth which has less flavor. I personally did not enjoy the regular ramen dish here so I am giving it a 4 star. But I do highly recommend the spicy chicken ramen which was very very delicious. We also got the albacore spicy tuna dynamite which had a slightly unique flavor. I thought it was quite delicious as well. Service was good here. Quick and easy. Not too many people around 4pm. They also give complimentary tea.

Came here because it was the husband’s birthday and we just came from a movie première event. FOOD: The food is alright. It’s not AMAZING. We got several rolls — dynamite, lobster, etc. We ordered about five rolls and it came out to about $ 60 – 70. And we were full. There isn’t anything spectacular about this place or the food. The quality of the sushi was just okay. It wasn’t bad nor was it fresh. SERVICE: Kinda slow, but nice. AMBIANCE: Very Japanese(duh) with the décor. Nice Japanese wooden tables place. OVERALL: It’s a decent place.

In the little tokyo district, there is no shortage of ramen or sushi but I always go to Kagura because their Fried Vege Ramen is my favorite veggie ramen from anywhere! Kagura is located right in the middle of Little Tokyo and I’ve only had to wait for a table twice(and I’ve been here quite a few times) but never longer than 10 minutes. Their vegetable roll is nice and fresh so I always get that. But I really keep coming back for the fried vege ramen, it’s really amazing. Even my meat-eating friends get it.

My friends and I were craving sushi so we headed to little Tokyo where sushi restaurants are aplenty. We had Unilocaled around and found a place we wanted to try. However, there was a huge line(of course there would be… it’s a freakin Saturday night lol) and a lot of other places had a waiting list going as well. We came across this place and decided to try it because there was no wait. I ordered the chirashi and avocado roll and my friends opted for a chirashi, a tuna roll, and a spicy salmon roll. We also ordered the dynamite roll as an appetizer. I don’t necessarily have any complaints about the food… everything was okay. Nothing spectacular or mind blowing but it was enough to satisfy our cravings and fill us without making us too full. They chop up their sashimi for the chirashi which was a first for me. It made me feel like it was a trick so they can skimp on the fish lol their dynamite roll was okay… too saucy for my taste. Their avocado roll however was excellent! They put huge pieces of avocado and I loved how ripe and green it was :) The service is friendly and they are quick(however it did take about 15 mins for a server to come by and drop off menus to us after we got seated). While this place isn’t cheap, it’s not expensive either and I say you pretty much get what you pay for… no major complaints there. I say give this place a try… it ain’t bad if you’re starving and don’t wanna wait around to be seated at another restaurant lol

I personally ordered a small ramen and beef bowl for lunch. It came with a salad and a miso soup. The portion was really small, but the price was reasonable. The food was quite salty to my taste. The ambiance was agreeable, but nothing more. The servers were available at all time as well.
