We had 6 people and everyone but me was ordering something. I just wanted water and to hang out but the lady said if I didn’t order something I would be charged $ 5. I questioned it and she didn’t budge so I ordered a black coffee that was $ 4.50 for a small mug, The cheapest thing on the menu. Otherwise it wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever been to but bad customer service goes a long way. Hopefully they will change that policy in order to not create a bad experience for the customer.

I got Boiling Crab to-go and ate it here, and I just have a few things I need to say about that experience LOL. 1. Even though you’re allowed to eat Boiling Crab inside Café Home, each person in your party has to buy a drink in order for you to sit there. 2. That sounded fine to me, until I looked at the menu and saw that the drinks are $ 4.95 and up. Seriously??? For 3 people, we spent $ 34 on our food, and then had to spend another $ 20 on drinks. 3. We also got an order of ddukbokki because we didn’t think we ordered enough from Boiling Crab, but we ate like 3 bites of it. Small portion of salty ddukbokki — pass. 4. On the plus side, the service at Café Home is great and they have extra table covers if you need it. They gave us free water and were very attentive and friendly, and there was no wait. TL;DR: if you don’t mind spending the extra money on buying drinks, Café Home is a great place to eat your Boiling Crab to-go, but next time I would rather wait the extra 40 min.

Good spot for an ice cold beer and snacks. The popcorn that accompanies the beer is a great touch. Yummy salted popcorn goes quite well with a tall glass of beer.

I came in to have a drink and snack. I wanted a non-alcoholic drink BECAUSE I DONTDRINKALCOHOL. … i was told if i dont get an ALCOHOLICDRINK, I couldnt get popcorn !!! REALLY??? It might have cost them $.05 to give us popcorn. … So, for a $ 20.00 plus drink from us, instead they got NOTHING. CUSTOMERSERVICEISEVERYTHINGANDTHEYDONTHAVEIT! $$

The service here is very good! I get boiling crab right next door«to go» and bring it to this restaurant and eat it here. There is always a minimum wait of an hour to get into the boiling crab so this place takes advantage and allows people to eat in the restaurant, as long as you get one drink per person. It sucks that they don’t have any sodas though. They do have beers on tap though. The soft serve pineapple ice cream is also amazing! I have never tried any of the food, but all in all, I love the fact that I can skip the wait next door and eat my food right when I get there.

Café Home is café that serves beer, coffee, and boba. They also have tvs to watch games. I ordered a hot Taro boba and my sister had the almond boba. Both were really good! What’s really awesome about this place is that it is right across from Boiling Crab, the super delicious Cajun-spiced seafood restaurant that has a long wait. Café Home is really nice about letting customers bring in their Boiling Crab take-out to eat here. *All you have to do is have each person in your party buy a drink. They even help you set up the table! Really great service!

Café Home is a little place right next to Boiling crab. I think majority of this places business actually comes from the excess of people waiting for a spot to eat at the Boiling Crab. What I usually do is order my food to-go(a lot shorter wait time at boiling crab if ordered to-go), then try to grab a seat at Café Home. They charge a one drink minimum which usually runs about $ 5 each. My favorite is the mango slush, but I tend to order it when I am almost done with my food. Just because I don’t want it to melt as I’m eating. They have Jenja and a few other games to play as you wait. With the addition of many TVs and a big projector showing sports this is an appealing place to come and enjoy your food but does come with a price!

Love the hoegarden on tap and the pineapple soft ice cream. I avoided waiting an hour at boiling crab and ordered to go and went over here and enjoyed it.

Employees were rude & didn’t let the children sit in a table after we bought frozen yogurt. We didn’t get napkins & when my child went inside to ask for some he was told to get out before he asked.

Very cute café but rude service. Wasn’t asked if I wanted to have my food to-go or not. I sat down to and waited for my food and the server told us that we couldn’t sit there because we didn’t ask to eat«for here» even though there were so many empty tables. Got my Dole Whip and there was no density, all the ice cream was on the edge of the bowl. As I finished the top of my soft serve, there was nothing in the middle. Really skimped out on me. Okay, then I went to sit outside to sit and I still wasn’t allowed to sit there. –__– The Dole Whip tastes nothing like the ones you get at Disneyland or Six Flags.

No complaints here. I only come here for one thing… The pineapple dole whip. My friend introduced me to this spot over a year ago and it’s my favorite spot because it’s close …:)

Got boba tea and pat bingsoo. The pat bingsoo looked dinky but it was surprisingly really good. Boba tea was eh. Thai tea was good. They have games you can play which was good for entertaining my three year old nephew. According to my nephew, he liked the Thai tea better. So you better try it. You can also order boiling crab to-go and eat it here if you don’t want to wait in line. What a genius idea.

My friend and I were in Koreatown and we wanted to try an authentic Korean dessert place, after a quick search this place popped up and we decided to give it a go. We got their shaved ice dessert, we asked for the red beans and ice cream on the side. What we got was some ice(lots of it), condensed milk, bananas and strawberries thrown into a bowl. Nothing special. We also got their thai boba and taro boba, both were good, but nothing to write home about. I give this place 3 stars for the ambiance and the extremely nice wait staff, who took their time to help us figure out what we like. I think this was the first and last experience I’m going to have with Korean desserts for a while :-/

Ryan is AWESOME! Our experience here was so much better than the Boiling Crab. We came in and were seated right away. Ryan informed us how we can eat our food here from the Boiling crab with a one drink per person minimum. He was so helpful and extremely nice. We chatted a bunch about he he loves his job even though he only works about once a week. He is a great addition to this team and is so nice. When we got our order from the Boiling Crab he even helped us carry the bags to our table! True gentleman! This place was great. Sake bombs all the way! Thank you Ryan!

Although most people go here to eat boiling crab when the line is to long. they actually have something thats really good. Their dole whip ice cream!!! I actually got the one with pineapple juice in it but I would assume its good without it too. Either or. its heaven in your mouth.

It’s great that they allow customers to eat takeout meals from Boiling Crab here! It saved us about 2 hours of wait time. We came here at first just to hang out for our 2.5 hour wait and saw other tables eating Boiling Crab takeout and decided we’d do the same(it was only a 30-minute wait for a takeout order!). Even just waiting there was a pretty good deal. They have a big screen for the football fans in the group. There are free bowls of popcorn. And there are board games(although out of an entire basket of chess pieces I could not put together an entire set and gave up on this idea). However, be aware that not *all* tables are available for a Boiling Crab meal. Only certain ones are, and you have to reserve them. We didn’t know this, but we still were able to get a table with only about 30 minutes’ notice at around 7pm on a Sunday night(during MLK weekend). Café Home is totally set up and ready for Boiling Crab meals! They provide: plastic bibs, disposable table cloths, tools to open up the crab shells, piles and piles of napkins: We topped off the meal with a Dole Whip to share. Delicious, thick creamy texture, light and tart/sweet flavor — 4 stars!

Years ago it was hard to find Dole Whip except for Disneyland. It’s easier to get these days. Café Home right next to Boiling Crab in KTown serves this tangy fluffy pineapple delight. After being disappointed at Honeymee, the rest of the Unilocal crew found our way to Café Home to get some Dole Whip to share. This restaurant is deep so finding the cashier to go will take you to the end of the restaurant. Craving for Dole Whip in KTown? You found your spot.

ATTENTIONBOILINGCRABLOVERS: This café allows you to bring in outside food. genius! Basically my friends and I came to Boiling Crab(their plaza neighbor) on a Saturday afternoon and it was a 2 hr wait. However to go was only 15 min. Then we found out this café allows you to bring in outside food. including Boiling Crab. So we ordered to go and brought it here. We were seated immediately. Of course we ordered our drinks here, which were delicious. I ordered the strawberry banana smoothie, which by the way goes perfect with the spicy BC sauce! My boyfriend got the dole whip, which he loved. Service was good. Both the server and the person who seated us were very nice. I have to admit it did take me by surprise since they have to clean up after everyone who brings in the messy smelly food next door. Liked it here a lot and will definitely be coming back!

1. Wait outside for Boiling Crab. 2. Notice sign for Café Home’s Dole Whip. 3. Seriously consider buying Dole Whip. Resists urge. 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 multiple times, based on how hungry you are and how long you are waiting for BC. 5. Finally cave in at some point and go buy Dole Whip. ^ Well, that sums up brought me to Café Home. I couldn’t resist the Disneyland snack urge. To my surprise, everybody inside was eating Boiling Crab??? With paper and bibs and everything. While playing Jenga??? I was so confused. And then, to my shock, I realized the Dole Whip 1. Was fairly expensive, especially for the amount we got 2. Tasted too much like artificial pineapple. 3. Wasn’t actually Dole Whip… Just pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream* AHHHHHH. I had realized my mistake. But at that point I was too traumatized and devastated to come back. I am sorry, Café Home, but you are not going to be a home for me. — *If you’ve been to Disneyland or experienced childhood, you’d understand that pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream is NOT the same as Dole Whip. It’s not even Dole Whip minus the magic… it’s just not Dole Whip at all!
