Everytime i come here I am pleasantly surprised with the food i order. Today i ordered the salmon burger which taste fresh and savory. The breakfast omelletes are amazing as well. The ambiance is casual and the vibes are always calm and relaxing. They are only open until 330 so quickly make your way here if you can.

Café Nine is in our building on the ninth floor and is a favorite of everyone in our office. Although we really do try to venture outside the office for lunch, we hardly ever leave because Café Nine is always the most enticing option(just imagine if they had happy hours– then we would really never leave!). The turkey sliders are amazing, as are the chicken tacos(but they’re a special so they only have them sometimes). Also, we love the owners!

This place is pretty cozy — lots of small tables along with soft seating with a lounge area as well. Plenty of magazines to read while you wait for your food. I ordered the salmon salad, which is the salmon burger atop a salad. The salmon was moist, yet crispy on the outside. Very generous with the avocado. Pretty decent sized portions for $ 8. Good food. The background music will make you nostalgic.

We are in the building and are lucky to have this café on the 9th floor. All the food is made to order and extremely fresh. The owner is friendly and takes the time to chat and get to know her regular clients. Great ambience-love this place.

Good food, clean. Came in for lunch with my boyfriend. Food was good. Very neat in taste and presentation. Better than your average café. A tiny bit overpriced for what you get, since it’s not a whole lot of food and it’s nothing crazy. They have signs everywhere telling you to be patient since everything is made to order, which I appreciated since they’re being upfront with the wait time. But even with the warning, it was a long wait. Around 25 minutes for a chicken wrap and salmon burger, and Le Boyf and I were the only ones who had ordered. A lady who had ordered right after us still hadn’t gotten her food after we had ours served and had finished it. Who knows, she still might be waiting. The plus side of the wait was that the food did have a very homemade feel to it, not factory made like at a restaurant that’s slammed during lunch rush hour. All in all, good eats.

Hidden café on the top of a building. Nice view. Very intimate and very cheap. I will definitely go back. i had the mini turkey burgers and it was delicious.

Loved Café Nine… it’s hidden in an office building that has a wonderful view from the ninth floor of downtown LA. Homemade food, made with love. :-) I brought my 10 and 7 year old granddaughters and they loved the food, as I did! Oh, and you can’t beat the prices… very affordable.

This café is on the ninth floor of the Spring Arts Tower. Very friendly staff and the most affordable lunch I’ve found downtown. I usually get salads and they are always big and delicious. The iced coffee is a great deal– $ 1.50! Awesome place, will be back often.

Would not have found this place without Unilocal. It’s hidden in a building on the 9th floor. One of the best salmon burgers I have had in a long time at a very reasonable price. One of the people I was with also enjoyed the Pastrami sandwich. Only reason I docked it 1 star is because the side options were lacking. Nevertheless, great grab and go lunch spot if you work downtown.

Yo I come here everyday and Kat is the best person ever. Seriously. You’ve gotta come here and eat, it’s the realest. Favorite food is the Turkey Mini Burger, and Kat always makes my drinks like I like em(super sweet). Oh and if they ever have the Chicken Salad Croissant, that’s the best thing ever.

Nice hidden jem in dtla, I’ve passed by here so many times but never noticed this place. Found it from all these high star Unilocal reviews for breakfast. This place isn’t like your fast food breakfast joint, all their food is made to order so it does take a while to get your food. While you’re waiting for your food just take in the nice views of downtown sip your tea/coffee and get off your smart phone to partake in the age old art of conversation. Like most of the other reviews, the Turkey Sliders are a must =) Friendly staff and environment. I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast! I’ll definitely be back!

This low key hidden gem is relaxing and simply great. The food does take a little slow but the turkey slidders are so so good, moist and flavorful. The omeltte was average. The drinks are a great addition to set the mood for a hectic day in dtla. It’s nice to be reminded to take a breath and enjoy the beauty around us from the ninth floor. Service is excellent. The parking is a bit tricky, well it’s la.

I don’t have enough good things to say about Café Nine. I think they single-handedly kept me alive for a few months! Their breakfast burritos, plates, and quesadillas are really delicious. Tops any other café out there in terms of quality, flavor, and the big one — price. I miss my breakfast burritos wrapped in a green or sun-dried tomato tortilla, with a side of their delicious salsa, sour cream, and Tapatio. The juicy turkey sliders with spring greens are always a great bet for lunch, as are any of their salads or wraps. Everything’s made to order and may take a bit of time during the lunch rush, but is definitely worth the wait. If you’re under some strict time constraints, I’d definitely recommend calling ahead to order — even 10 – 15 minutes ahead of time is helpful. If you have any special requests, be sure to ask as they’re super accommodating. I’m always trying to add avocado on everything. Keep an eye out on their facebook page because they always have some interesting weekly specials. Snag the CLC salad when you can. I’ve totally been known to walk away with 2 orders — one for dinner… and I’ve caught others doing the same. It’s that good, with a cilantro-lime dressing, chicken, queso fresco, corn, pepperoncinis, onions, and tomatoes on romaine. The pulled pork sandwiches and their iced tea or lemonade concoctions are some other weekly specials to watch out for because they’re delicious and won’t be around for long!

I said hell yeah, hell yeah, hell yeah… The Denver Omelette and french toast were so good. Décor was nice, the color blue is friendly, and it’s nice and quiet.

Café Nine is perfectly named because it’s practically a TEN! Delightful, homespun gem open for breakfast and lunch. Can’t go wrong with either, I’m sure. Recently tried the salmon burger which was remarkable and delicious. Remarkable because I don’t eat salmon burgers. But eyeing the slender menu(not to say without many excellent choices), I wasn’t really feeling it for a tuna wrap or veggie sandwich or a salad in general. I needed something a little out of the box. When informed that they make the salmon burgers fresh each day, I started to cave. I love and often seek out seafood round lunchtime. I was nervous cause there was things like Cheese that I also don’t usually do. But what the hey. Threw caution to the wind, and fell in love. The bun, which I often never eat(anyone hearing an echo?) — was perfect. Fresh, warm with a bit of a toasted crunch, oh, and very wheat-y— in a good way. Mmm. Prior visits had the aforementioned veggie wrap which was outstanding. Tasty, and meaty(in its way) with the sheer force of a fresh variety of crunchy and non-crunchy ingredients. Oh, and it’s HUGE! Get that if you’re starving. Or if you want to bring leftovers back. They WILL run out of their soup, so be aware. And they will likewise have a big ol’ 86 on their specials as the day progresses. Kitchen closes at 3:30pm. And the throw you out at 4pm.(OK, I’m sure they don’t THROW you out, but…) Very reasonable and delicious beverages, too. Excellent coffee for $ 1.25. And, any place that sells a LITER of Mexican Coke for $ 2 should be applauded and embraced.

A café in an old bank building? It’s on the 9th floor? Weird, but I like it! Never ever would I have suspected that there would be a café there but of course I found it on Unilocal!Rode the old looking elevator up… and stepped into a world of aqua blue. Café Nine looks like a transplant from Monterey Park, the lounge area is more modern but the tables I swear I’ve seen at an Asian establishment before. The walls are painted almost the Tiffany aqua blue color, more blue though! Small place, but they have enough seating for maybe 10 groups of people. They seemed to be more busy with taking food orders. They also deliver to people in the building! I wish they were in mine! Lounge Area Dining Area Counter The staff here was pretty small but friendly… and the food was pretty darn good! They had two specials going on, one was for strawberry lemonade… but they were out of fresh strawberries. They did offer to knock off a dollar and just use the leftover strawberries bits they had though. Potato Salad Unfortunately this was the only thing I didn’t like out of everything. They had medium sized chunks of potato in a very creamy dill sauce, which looked made to order, but I wasn’t digging so much creaminess. Moroccan Mint and Ginger Tea I loved the extra steps they took to create this drink. They used a Moroccan mint teabag and put fresh mint leaves into the cold drink. Could’ve used more ginger though as I could barely taste that. Chipotle Chicken Wrap Yummy yummy yummmy!!! I love places that grill the wrap to add some crunch! Without that wraps are always kinda smushy. They asked if we could take spicy as people have complained that it is… but it barely spicy to us… wonder what those other people are eating? Anyhow… great flavor and really good balance of ingredients. Came with some sliced pickles too! Turkey Sliders These take 15 minutes to cook but it was worth the wait. When they serve it to you its 3 sliders served on Hawaiian rolls… ooooo!!! The turkey patties are definitely hand made being super lumpy, full of flavor and onions… and so far far from bland tasteless turkey! Add some spring mix, a slice of tomato, bit of sauce and these were the best turkey sliders(and burgers) I’ve had in a long time! For a second I thought that they had messed up and given me something other than turkey… but really… this is how it should be! Yes I’ll be coming back. I love the charm of where it’s located and the food is great and easy on my wallet.

As soon as I saw Café Nine come up on Unilocal,I knew I had to go. I had clicked through all the pictures relevant to Café Nine and found myself daydreaming about the chic interior and the gorgeous food. It wasn’t before long until I found myself standing in front of the tall building that Café Nine called home. I can understand why people think the whole«going-on the-elevator-to-the-ninth-floor-just-to-get-some-grub» idea is a little annoying. I get it… but I also think it’s quirky and fun. Make sure to turn to your left after you get out of the elevator, although you probably won’t miss it. The huge windows let light shine right into the spacious area, lighting up the entire hall. I will admit that it took a little bit of time to get the owner’s attention so we could order, but we realized that he was doing all the cooking AND the ordering, so we felt more sorry for him than annoyed. I decided to get the Salmon Burger and the Iced Moroccan Mint Green Tea with Ginger. My other friends got the Chipotle Chicken wrap and burger, respectively. To add, the prices are very reasonable here :-) As you can imagine, the wait for food took a while… but it wasn’t so bad because soaking in the ambiance made it all worthwhile. And, as I found out, there were people who had called in before and had placed very large orders. Once again, this was not due to poor service, as the man that works here is extremely friendly and hard-working. The food did come around, and all I wanted to do at that very moment was to sink my teeth into the burger. And I did. And it was delicious. The buns are soft, the veggies were fresh and plentiful and thensalmon patty was toothsome and packed with flavor. It could have used a little bit more aioli, but it could not have been any better otherwise. The Mint Green Tea was soothing and exotic — perfect for a summer day(which it wasn’t, but hey… it was still very good). I love everything about Café Nine. I do hope that the owner hires one or two more employees soon because I can see his café becoming even more popular in the near future.
