Very delicious lunch times. Had lunch here two days in a row and enjoyed both days. Their salad bar has a nice, fresh variety of veggies and salads. They can make panini sandwiches on chiabata bread, tastefully put together. They have fruit and chips and ready made items for your delight! It can be a bit pricey… I bought an average size kale salad without meat, with some healthy veggies, plus a drink and paid $ 12. but it was delicious so worthy!

Located inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall, this has been a very convenient place to grab lunch before the LA Opera. They have a nice salad bar that has a variety of very fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. There are also some pre made salads(pasta, potato, etc.). Usually two types of soup(also fresh and piping hot). At the small grill area, the servers are ready to prepare panini sandwiches or some type of special of the day(sautéed spinach, pasta, etc.). Fountain drinks, coffee, tea, aguas frescas, and bottled drinks, including beer and wine. Depending on what you order, it can be a little pricey, but you can tell it’s quality food, and you are in the big city, and that’s the way it goes.

I am very disappointed in this café. I had the lamb stew with rice and the vegetables before the 7pm concert on Sunday, May 17. I woke up with food poisoning in the middle of the night. I am trying to reach the café to let them know and inquire who else might be impacted. I lost an entire work day due to being sick.

Great food. Had a chipotle chicken club with a citrus green tea. Tad pricey but good food all in all.

I went to watch the Big Band play at the concert hall and grabbed dinner at this café. I don’t think I have ever had a better steak of grilled salmon! It was perfectly dry.(Most salmons I have tried are too soft and moist). I believe it was flavored with Cajun seasoning. The sautéed vegetables consisted of different varieties of squash. The salad bar had good options. All in all, a very satisfying and healthy meal!

I got a sandwich here(the roast beef one). It would have been good, but the bread was so dry!(Like, need-a-water-to-wash-it-down-type of dry). Perhaps it would have been improved if there was more of the blue cheese sauce, but I could barely taste it. I was very disappointed. Perhaps I will come back and it will be better. I agree with the comments about how it is expensive for the quality of food.(A sandwich is 8.50 not including tax)

This place should be your last resort. Come here if you must I.e. If you only have a 10 minute lunch or can’t walk/travel far. Everything is on the pricy end of things; water is around $ 4(and that’s just Desani). I ordered their whole Turkey sandwich and it was ordinary. In fact, it seemed as if there was more bread than ingredients. You’re better off getting a pre-packaged processed sandwich from 7⁄11. One star for the quality of food and one star for having electrical outlets to charge my phone.

Eat here if you HAVE to, but it’s not very tasty and it’s a little pricey for the quality. Came during jury duty, just got a chicken curry sandwich. I think it was like $ 8 after the 10% jury duty discount. If it was gourmet, $ 8 no problem, but it was just slightly better than cafeteria food. Yes, the garden outside is very nice… You don’t need to buy food here to enjoy the garden.

Even with the«court» discount, the food was overpriced. I had the lunch special which was $ 12.95 for a small serving of chicken sausage pasta with burnt brussel sprouts on the side. Even worse, the agua was $ 4.50 for a small serving. Disgraceful!(Beautiful setting, though.)

The food was okay but everything was way over priced. There are plenty of other places nearby where you can get more(not better tasting) eats for less.

Priced for convenience, the Concert Hall Café offers a decent place to grab a sandwich or soup or a salad before your show. I prefer the salad bar, which does not have much to choose from — only mixed greens, romaine, corn, chicken, tuna, bean salad, broccoli and cheese/croutons. Kind of weird, but I put together a good plate. The soup is the best thing going here, but it is $ 5.50 for a modest cup. The sandwiches are generally on bad bread — either soggy or stale — but it is standard for pre-made arts fare. Get there early and go outside of this building for pre-theater fare.

I wanted a hot plate and the food at the courthouse did not look good and the line was horrendous… so I decided to try this place. At first I was excited after reading reviews on Unilocal… a salad bar, healthy hot plates, and a jury duty discount? Sold! When I entered, I noticed the specials… only one entrée, manicotti. Well I like pasta so that’s ok. And it comes with some roasted veggies? Great! Well that’s what I thought. I spent about $ 13 and my food tasted like a TV dinner. The salad I put together myself was ok, even though there was not a variety of veggies(it’s no whole foods salad bar, just greens and stuff that you could find in cans which cost me about $ 3 for a tiny plate of veggies). The rest? Well the manicotti, sauce, and sausage was not hot and super salty. I could not even finish it. The veggies were liquidy soft and tasted bland. Really wish I went to lemonade at the moca… or stayed for the $ 6 burgers at the courthouse. I actually left completely unsatisfied and bought a sandwich two hours later at the courthouse. The concert hall café has quite a variety of drinks, prepackaged salads and sandwiches, so if you want that you are in the right place. Otherwise, everything I got that day was just not worth it.

I’m a juror as I type this. I felt all adventurous the first few days and did some subway traveling but then discovered if I didn’t want to do the 11-flight hike POST lunch(I’m not gonna wrestle for a spot in an elevator like some non-clausterphobic sardine), I’d have to get back to the courthouse by a little after 1. The café in the Disney concert hall is pretty good. MUCH better than the court cafeteria options. I NEEDVARIETYINMYRUFFAGE. Arugula? Romaine? Spinach? Lemme at it. All of it. As far as the self serve salad bar goes– you have your base, your proteins, your veggies, cheese options and usually a few other things(pasta, tuna, couscous) + croutons or bread and you don’t have to weigh your dressing with your salad. It’s only 10% off for jurors but that’s cool with me – ends up being around $ 6.50 unless I spring for a POM, which is crazily priced at $ 4. Eating inside is very calming and cool. I really like the solitude and the atmosphere.

This place is SOOOO expensive!!! My friend and I were so thirsty and soda here costs $ 3.75. What a rip off! There isn’t any water to be found in the concert hall and you have to purchase something to get a cup for«free» water here at this place. Just go down the road to Subway for something that’s a fraction of the price with free refills!!! ^_^ That’s the secret!

I had the unenviable pleasure of fulfilling my civic duty to perform jury duty in Downtown LA a few weeks back and not that this was the first thing on my mind, but I did wonder where I was going to be able to have lunch or if I was actually going to be able to have lunch. Turned out that I was able to have lunch and I was able to find a place to have lunch. I do have to take a moment here and thank the City and County of Los Angeles for allowing jurors to park in the Walt Disney Concert Hall parking lot, for if that was not the case I would have never discovered this little hide away hidden in the back of this masterpiece. The Concert Hall Café is your typical cafeteria-style operation that the Patina Group runs at numerous cultural institutions within the Greater Los Angeles area. However, it seems like they really have it down at this location and I’m not sure why. Perhaps its because the flagship shares the kitchen space or perhaps it was just new to me. Either way, it wasn’t disappointing… especially in the sea of your run of the mill assembly line lunch operations in Downtown LA. The food is expensive, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Patina Group restaurant. Being expensive, one would expect the quality and craftsmanship to be top notch and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a pretty small café that has sandwiches, panini’s and entrees to order, combined with a fresh salad bar offering fresh ingredients and a soup bar with two selections. You have a fine selection of beverages ranging from fountain drinks to wines. The cafeteria eating area is located in the space behind the escalator and staircase that leads down to the parking level, however they do also have outdoor seating located on Grand Avenue. It’s a pretty nice place for one to really escape the hustle of Downtown LA or in my case the monotony of jury duty. If you don’t mind paying a little more for quality, then this is a place that you should keep in mind the next time you’re in Downtown LA for a show or the symphony.

This place is always pricey but it’s good food, fast. Thank goodness for the Patina cultural venue monopoly. Their sandwiches are consistently good, as are their soups. Today’s pastrami sandwich was especially good. Love their chili, though it was a little watery today. The milk chocolate passion fruit parfait was amazing. If you like sour candies, avoid the sour gummy worms, which were disappointingly not sour at all. I wish they would go back to offering the candy from Bottega Louie, which was delectably sour and fruity.

The food is pretty good here but why so pricey? I had their salad bar with a few pieces of lettuce, some tomatoes, cucumber(delicious) and tuna and that was over $ 10. My friend tried their mac and cheese and it was more like butter and cheese and $ 5 for a tiny container. I would love to eat here more often but even the workers at the hall avoid this place due to the prices. I guess I have to wait to be called for jury duty to get the 25% off…

This place is small and comfortable. It has the best tuna salad that I’ve ever tasted. It’s fast, simple, yet has good food. It has fresh pre made salads as well as a salad bar. The last time I went, it was serving grilled salmon. It looked delicious. It’s a perfect place for a quick lunch. I enjoy eating inside, but I believe there’s outdoor seating also.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall is really juror-friendly. Free parking, 25% off food at the Café, and a free self-guided tour to do during your hour-and-a-half break. The Café is open from 9:30 a.m. to the first intermission, Monday through Sunday. If no concerts are scheduled that day, the café closes at 2 p.m. People with a juror badge can get 25% off at the café at lunch time. The salad bar seems to be the most popular. At 49 cents an ounce, the price is comparable to other fancy salad options in the area. A nice place to grab a quick bite if you’re early for a concert though I would recommend Patina if you have the time and a few extra bucks.
