Good curry here. I don’t particularly like chicken cutlet, but it’s pretty good here. Every order comes with a salad, miso, a cream soup, tea and a side of kimchi & pickles. Although it’s a pain to get parking here. I would come back. The curry is good and their portions are enough where you have a little extra to bring home. update: CLOSED =(

Came in with a friend for some comfort food during lunch on Friday. The place is small and parking is a nightmare, so probably best to take the bus or prepare to park in the neighborhood and walk. We both ordered omu rice, I had the pumpkin cheese roll and she had hamburg. To start they brought out potato cream potage, then a salad, then miso soup! I was surprised at all the starters that came with our meal, but my surprise didn’t last long as I realized how long it took for my main dish to come out. A waiter comes out with our exact order… and hands it to the table next to us. Then the waitress runs over shaking her head and snatches back the hamburger omu rice from the customer and puts it in front of my friend. What I believe to be my curry is still sitting at the other table and they begin to dig in. My food finally came 10 – 15 mins later. Pumpkin cheese roll is actually mashed kabocha(hobak) I guess with cheese and breaded and fried. Omu rice was pretty tasty and the whole thing was a huge serving. Overall, food was good, big portions for the price, cute atmosphere, but slow service. My friend said because their main business is delivery since they don’t change a fee and the minimum order price is low.

Love this place — for both dining in or take out! They do a really good job in packing everything to go. I usually get their chicken curry cutlet, but their hamburger steak is surprising excellent as well. I love that every dish comes with a cream soup, salad and miso soup(sometimes I’m full even before the main dish comes out). I also love the deep fried garlic that comes with the dish as well. I’ve only had a pasta dish once and it was not memorable. I would stick to their cutlet dishes!

Extremely solid! Better than curry house and cheaper! Bf and I saw came here for lunch during the weekend and it was empty! We were a bit weirded out but sat down anyway, they had a LOT of to go orders consistently throughout our meal. The interior décor is so adorable, it reminded me of a café, which it very well may have been prior, not sure how long this place has been here. Bf ordered the chicken katsu and curry omurice combo, and I ordered the pumpkin cheese katsu with curry. We had gotten a salad and cream soup first, and then our meals. The katsu was really good, the pumpkin cheese katsu was also good. I could eat that on its own! Anyways, thought the curry was really great too, a medium spicy. Overall, whenever I’m craving the katsu/curry combo this will be my go to. Prices are also extremely reasonable for what you get! Love this place.

I’ve come here a couple times with my mum. Because I couldn’t remember my experience here from the first time, I asked her to come back with me a second time. It was a mixed experience. From the start our impression was not very good because half of the tables had dirty dishes on them when we came in. It didn’t seem like a big party had just left so I’m not sure why they were leaving all these dirty dishes outside. But we were immediately seated at a clean table and given water. My mum requested hot water; she liked the size of the cups(because she doesn’t drink a lot of water and feels the large ones are wasteful) but she found it inconsiderate that hot water was given in the same non-handle cups as the cold water(which means they are hard to handle since the cup also heats up very quickly). The interior décor was nice and our service was decent. Oh and since it’s located in a plaza parking is pretty easy. We started off with complimentary cream soup, which was pretty good. Then came the salad(which comes with our entrees); I didn’t care for mine, especially since it barely had any dressing. Then we got miso soup, spicy pickled radish cubes, and pickles to go along with our entrees. We ordered the following: – Crab Shrimp Cheese Balls: These were just okay, nothing special. You get five pieces with your order. – Donkatsu Omurice: My mum ordered this and thought this was also just okay. – Donkatsu Curry Rice: I liked mine as long as I ate it with the pickles. It was pretty good and quite filling. There are no check-in offers on the Unilocal app, but when I told them I found them through Unilocal, they took 10% off my bill. Our total after tip for our meal was $ 29. Our food was decent, but our experience overall was not great and I don’t think we’ll be coming back, especially since we don’t ever go to this plaza.

Don’t dine in– they have no AC. It was really hot in there when I went for a weekday lunch. Food is mediocre… I guess the name of this place gives a hint of what you should try for the first time, but I’d say curry is not their main dish. I think pasta was good… but other than that, ok quality.

Compare price, dishes are ok. Love delivery service. And big portions. But, I wish they would have cheese pork cutlet as well. About only pork cutlet, I love wako. Wako is always so yummy but no delivery service.

Crab balls were the best thing we tried. Also liked that the entrees came with cream soup and salad. Décor was a quaint cottage/café, but the place was completely deserted. Kimchi pasta was not as creamy as I would have liked. I’m a fan of Nandarang’s. Hamburg steak was overcooked and bland. Portions were generous for the price point. I’ll give them another go for curry.

Despite the name, the best part of this place is the Kimchi Pasta. Now I’m a pretty ardent believer that Kimchi does not make everything taste better. I know, they should take away my Korean Pride membership card. But is a little known secret that you put alfredo and kimchi together with noodles, cosmic forces align and present your tastebuds with a strange but delightful sensation. You don’t know why, but it just tastes so good. And don’t knock the delivery guy — he may not smile, but the guy faceplanted onto my stairs doing a late night delivery but made a conscious effort to save the food but not his face. That kind of dedication makes me overlook that he doesn’t give me a hug with my food every time.

So one of my buddies wanted to try omurice because he saw it on a japanese food show. For some reason, I thought it was called omni-rice(think omnislash from Final Fantasy 7) and imagined this was how the rice was made:
Darn, I’m such a nerd. XD On to the actual food, first off when you walk in, you’ll notice the décor. This place has different color walls and the restaurant looks like an Ikea catalog(which I’m pretty sure they used to decorate the whole place). There were the paper lanterns, ikea shelfs, ikea portraits, and even the knife I was given had Ikea on it. I ordered the steak omurice, which came with a nice piece of steak, omurice(fried rice in an egg omelet), fried garlic, and mashed potatoes. The food was really good and the portions were huge. They also gave us a broccoli cream soup, some pickle banchan, and tea. Also, check in on Unilocal and you’ll get 10% off. All of this came out to $ 12, so it’s a great deal considering the amount of food you get. Unfortunately, the parking lot sucks because someone parked there car behind our car and we couldn’t get out and we had to run into every store and find the owner(which is not easy in K-town when the only korean words you know are all korean cuisine and I love you). Overall, great bang for your buck and friendly service!

«Maybe they should rename this place Crabby Balls!» –Phillip Duval, World Class Statesman. My roommate Phil and I went here a few months ago now, right after it opened up and I have finally gotten around to writing a review for it. First off, Crab Balls reign supreme at this Japanese Style curry in Korea-town. Lightly fried, with cream cheese and crab and covered by an awesomeness known to this plane of existence as curry sauce. This curry is candy sweet and just a little it spicy. It will make you wana lick the bowl clean like some dehydrated junk yard dog. Don’t do this though, because it might ruin the library like mood in this quite, respectable joint. I also got some breaded punkin roll thingy and a pork cutlet thingy but I would check with the menu to see what these dishes are actually called before asking the waiter for the«breaded punkin roll thingy» since I doubt they are officially called that. Anyways the pumpkin rolls were light, covered in a sweet sauce and surprisingly filling. The pork was fairly typical of pork cutlets thought the curry made it stand out in a good way. However good these items were, they could not compete with king crabby ball. The staff was super nice and served us free green tea and miso soup. Both great. Did I mention that those were free? Free = Extra tasty. My only complaint that it was a little pricey but nothing too crazy. Go here. Eat things covered in curry sauce. All hail King Crabby Balls!

You wont drive by it randomly because its not in the the best area of ktown. Even if you did, you wouldn’t notice this humble korean fast food place located on the first floor of a small plaza full of uneven concrete parking. But I try to eat here every chance I can get. Whenever I go to a boonshik(korean fast food) restaurant, I am always hit with the dilemma of choosing between my 3 favorite fast foods. CURRY, DONKATSU, and OMURICE. I hate having to order just one of the three because its just too much of one flavor. I enjoy variety. I am a chef in my own mind because I like to creat new flavors with whats on my plate. Dousing my donkatsu with curry and piling it on top of my omurice has always been a dream of mine. Well. at Curry Hyang, I dont have to dream. I ordered the Omurice/Donkatsu combo, and it came with a side of curry!!! Just for that combo, you’ve earned a customer for life. Service is good too, and they give you some soup. The portions are plentiful also, so you wont leave hungry.

A modest little restaurant in a sea of Hangul and English language signs in K-Town is nothing new. What is new is a restaurant that is my new go-to place for curry by way of Japan to Korea. Already a great value for lunch in the $ 7 to $ 8 range(weekends too), Curry Hyang served us soup and a simple cabbage salad with diced kimchi turnip and dill/pepper/onion on the side. The pumpkin/cheese«katsu» roll was something that shouldn’t work, but it does – and if it defies all the laws of Nature, well Nature can go to Hell. The slightly tangy, but distinctively sweet and soft pumpkin offers a nice contrast to the perfectly fried outer«skin.» Open until 9 pm, so this is not an after-hours type of place. It’s a very small café, but they do offer local delivery. I can’t vouch for the specifics or if non-Korean speakers will have trouble transmitting their phone order, but if there is one place worth going out for curry in K-Town, this is it.

the first thing that i really liked about this store was the cute furniture and accessories they had here and there. I ordered the hot tomato seafood pasta which was $ 9.95 and also the pork cutlet with curry rice which was $ 8.95(which is about the same price as like WAKO because their donkatsus on sale i don’t if that’s still going, but you get curry with your donkatsu! so it’s a plus). Anyways, both dishes were delicious! They start off with a cream soup and they give really generous portions of food so you get your moneys worth! The service was friendly too! The owner of store gave me extra curry! I’m definitely coming back here to try the fried crab cheese ball(or whatever they’re called i don’t remember specifically!)! Oh! everythings cheaper before 3pm!
