Cool chill vibe. Been here a few times I like it. Never ate, but always had a cute Asian guy at the bar. Wouldn’t come here to meet a fantastic guy, but I would just to chill and dance to good music! Only been on Friday nights everytime

Okay so this joint Ive been to maybe 4 or 5 different times under as many different promoters and events. I am NOT a fan of the locale which can be confusing. They have a restaurant on one side and the other is this nightclub with patio in the back. The patio is TINY. So they call this place different things at different times. Last event I went to called it «Bistro Lounge». I’ve also seen it advertised as «3rd Street Lounge». Each time I come here I wonder WHY I came here. This last time we came for a Cigar and Cognac event but was immediately disappointed when we realized they only had the«back patio» and not the entire place. Ok so fine. VERY young and VERY Asian and a DJ stuck in time. It begged the question: WHEREARETHEGROWNFOLKS? The few that we were, were in the back on the patio, trying to want to be there. Rain may have kept a few away who knows. The clientele is all over the map and not in a good way. My friend went to the ladies restroom and there was a line(VERYSMALLRESTROOM) and a woman passed out half naked over the toilet in her own vomit. Ummmmmmm okay. Im glad a) I didnt see it personally and b) wasnt trying to have something to eat. That to me sounds like some Rave shit in Hollywood for kids. Not a venue meant for adults wanting to have a good time. That did it for me. The drinks were not memorable and the appetizer I had less so. There is valet and usually some type of cover. Its dark, long and narrow. I never felt the place had a cool vibe though there have been a couple cool promoters there trying their damn-est to pull it off! The crowd… strange. Young. Unpredictable. Desperate. Drunk. Random. Often Asian/Hispanic blend, college kids. Ive never stayed long enough to see how it is later in the night. I usually bail. The Cigar folks had another event there but I JUST couldn’t do it. No. I WOULDN’T do it. Drive downtown for THAT? Waste of gas. They get 2 stars for the effort.

For the fact that they have monthly themed nights of Jazz and Underground Hip Hop music playing off one another(aka Jazzercise nights), it’s probably the saving grace of this place at this time. Décor is decent and dance floor is indeed on the dusty side. But the random artists within Little Tokyo(hipster infused, hip hop infused, and jazz ensembles) just keep bringing patrons in. $ 5.00 admissions for the first thursday of every month. The drinks however are on the pricey side, $ 36.00 for three of them: Jack Daniels, White Chocolate Martini and a Jolly Rancher. Perhaps, I should have gone the recession route and ordered a Stella to save face? Either or, I think I’m generous enough to say I’m glad they have the awesome music and people attending the spot. I just wish their drink prices would go down a bit and their dance floor gets swept a bit more periodically.

What an effen joke! E3rd… you crack me up! We had a party of 9 that was torn between Asian food and steak. When we looked this place up — we thought it might have been perfect for our group. So we called the restaurant and made a reservation. The hostess said no problem — and asked if we were ok with live music because there was a live band that night. We said no problem; extra bonus. We walked there from my apt(4th and Main). When we arrived we told the front door girl we were there for a dinner reservation; she looked confused and brought out some dude that basically asked us ‘What were we doing there and didn’t we know there was a live event going on?’ Like it was our fault we made reservations for dinner? And then he stalked off around the corner without another word. Didn’t even ask if we were interested in coming to the event. We were left standing there looking like dumbasses. E3rd — get your shit together. Don’t tell potential guests to come down for dinner and then have them turned away by a event coordinator with a Napoleon complex. We went to spend our money at Bottega Louie and dropped a stack on an amazing dinner at a restaruant that knows how to handle their customers. Take that.

Very nice lounge in the downtown area. It’s kinda hidden off 3rd st, but its not too hard to find. The place is nice and spacious. They even have a outdoor area! You can drink and have a smoke at the same time, so its chill. I went here for a Dj Cam show, a Jazzercise event. It was fun and lively. The vibe is good and the people there are chill. Beers are a little pricey. 7 bucks per beer and they dont have that much of a selection either for beer. But nice place to go to regardless.

All I have to say is WOW! very surprised about this place. It’s a gem in the heart of the arts district in Downtown LA. I came to an event called«Gallery Girls», there were live models posing for people who wanted to sketch, it was a very pleasant surprise, since I just went there for a good old steak. There was no wait, since this place is still relatively unknown. I’m pretty sure though, with time this place will be a hot spot. The drinks a great, the food is superb, the staff is friendly and the venue is one of a kind! I definitely would recommend this place. The ambiance is a fusion between Artsy and Intimate a very«different» setting for anyone who wants to get romantic, I highly recommend this place ORDER: RIBEYE, med rare, Albacado(you will not find this creative dish ANY where else) DRINK: Hibuscus Margarita(You will not be dissapointed)

I came here for dinner with a large group before Jazzercise, every 1st and 3rd Thursday featuring a combination of Jazzy House being spun with live instrument accompaniment. Great dance environment, but I digress… The food was beyond my expectations and so were the prices. The menu was divided into sections Small Plates($ 6 — $ 10 max) and Entrees($ 10 — $ 14), with Filet Mignon and Rib Eye maxing out at $ 22. We ordered a few Small Plates and one plate each with a bottle of wine. The highlights were Kimchi Filet Mignon with a side of Kimchi potatoes, and The Alba-cado which really was a show stopper due to the presentation and the favors. This is not your traditional steakhouse, as others have mentioned, it’s more a really good asian-fusion restaurant. Highly recommended and extremely tasty.

Came to E3 for a Dr Sketchy’s art class. My husband and I had dinner before hand — both had steaks and a drink. The food was really good, but we have not been back. I agree with some other reviewers who question the«steakhouse» title — It definitely felt more like a nice bar that also served good food.

came here for a friend’s clothing line anniversary party( ) shameless plug but idc. anyhow, it’s a cute little dive looking place on the outside, nice décor on the inside. we decided to eat before the party started. i ordered a ‘cheesesteak’ with pork instead of steak, and my friends got a chicken dish and a salmon dish. they weren’t too happy or satisfied with their meals, but i loved mine. it’s their own fault really for ordering something that’s not their specialty. this IS a steakhouse after all. i thought my sandwich tasted like a cheesesteak version of kbbq’s pork with cheese. haha sounds gross written out but it was definitely good in my book. there’s a small outside patio/seating area in the back also. i think this place would make a great date-joint overall. i would definitely come back again if i was in the area. :)

I should have known from the moment we walked into this place that this was going to be a horrifying experience, but like all human mammals I went against my better judgement and decided to give it a try. The menu is a culinary and business disaster, two important necessities in sustaining any dining establishment. The menu is a(con)fusion between fried bar food and Korean BBQ neither which was a success. The service didn’t do anything either. The one, and only, server in the restaurant did try, so I really can’t be too mean. As far as the décor goes — it’s not unpleasant to look at but I think they could have skipped on some design and focused more on the FOOD. Please stay away from e3rd. Apparently, it’s been here for 3 years and I may stay up all night figuring out how. My last dining lesson is that if the place is empty don’t venture in. Save yourself the disappointment and money unless you are in need of some good dining tales!

I guess the food tastes better when you BOGO for free. I remember checking out this restaurant when it first opened. Got my pear honey pork steak and get another pear honey pork steak for free. That pig was so delicious. I would give that restaurant at least 4 stars just for that. I went back there few weeks ago… what happened??? The restaurant was empty! It’s like«dining at a private restaurant» empty. The smoking section was outside so we decided to stay inside. I couldn’t find honey pear pork steak so I ordered the dish that’s similar to it… honey beef stuff thing. I don’t remember what it’s called but it’s basically bulgogi with mushroom on top of rice. The dish was not bad but I wouldn’t go back there for that. Bring back my honey steak and I will be back. 2 stars! E3rd Steakhouse and Lounge is not yummylicious!

Cozy and Nice! After visiting a near by weenie factory for lunch, we decided to try this place the following day. ~Ambiance I have to say that this place is cozy and nice. The host was very nice. There is an outside portion for smokers in the very back. You can also sit inside the restaurant if you want to stay away from the lunch crowd. This place is large and open. The inside was on the darker side. ~Food What did I eat? I have no memory of it. It could be because I was distracted, but I don’t think I ate too much. I wish I could post more on this but really cannot remember. Overall, I think this is a good place to come and hang with your friends for lunch. I am not too familiar with the menu so will leave it at that. I think I would prefer going back to the weenie factory, Wurstküche, for lunch if I am in the area. I think the reason I had an enjoyable time here was because of the company. not anything the restaurant provided.

I SO wish that e3rd was better. I’m all about supporting people-of-color-owned businesses, and unfortunately, e3rd falls flat. I have organized several events here through an organization that I’m involved with, each time hoping(praying and crossing my fingers) that the food and service would be better. It, unfortunately, has let me down multiple times. Sigh. The Asian fusion food is mediocre and always comes out lukewarm. What’s up with that? Not cool, e3rd. Get it together! When it comes to décor and drinks, I’ll give e3rd credit. The venue looks pretty cool/hip and the bartenders are nice. Maybe come here for drinks, but don’t expect anything amazing. Wish I could say otherwise.

We were actually going to go eat at the Blue Dahlia café next door because a co worker of mine said that their burgers were banging, but being the Asian people we were, we decided to go here because of the big 50% off sign hanging outside. We walked in there and there was literally no one in there. Literally. I had a bad feeling about the place because it was one of those places that is lit by seemingly one candle and acts like its too cool for school. It also had lounge music that in my friends words made it seem like we were in Egypt. I also didn’t have a good feeling after the waiter came over and told us that 18% gratuity to all checks(even for our group of five) when the menu specifically said its only added for groups larger than 8. His explanation was that the 18% applied to all happy hour customers. The food was pretty good, but I wouldn’t pay full price for it. As a matter of fact, I would’ve been pretty bummed about it. The way I would characterize this place is a cross between a korean restaurant and a steakhouse. Not a good mix in my book. All the dishes were average and nothing popped out, so I wont bore you all with the details. Cost: I don’t remember because I won’t return

I heard that the Old college friends were throwing a party at the E3rd street Lounge. Needless to say, I had to go and represent. The crowd was lovely because it was old college friends. The music was good because it was the homeboy guest dj on the 1’s and 2’s. The venue was not hot but hot. Can someone turn up the air? Open the doors, or put a fan in the window or something because this is ridiculous. The place was crowded and small, no room for movement or dance. The bar had great selection but not so great service. The shot glasses look like they robbed some little girl for her tea party set and use the mini cups for shot glasses at a healthy price. Drinks here were too expensive for what you were served. We ended up ditching this event for another down the street because this E3rd street spot was not the place to waist away the evening.

this rating and review is for the dineLA lunch, which is a bit too late. it’s easy to dismiss the place as being close during the day because of the way the corrugated metal façade looks: for the brave who do step in, you’re greeted by this funny«no dancing» sign and an empty restaurant. Wes K. and I peeked in and braved down the hall after the waiter acknowledged us. This is what I got from the prix fixe menu: –jalapeño tuna(tuna-stuffed fried jalapeño) –imperial rib(pear-marinated short ribs on the bone) –mango passion there were only 2 pieces of the jalapeño tuna(regular order has 6), which is fine. this appetizer is pretty tasty. the imperial rib(short ribs in the plural on the menu) was one big rib bone with tender meat. it was quite delicious. the mango passion was slices of mango on passion fruit gelato. Wes K. got the House Salad with Sean’s Crunchies, predictably with crispy chinese noodles, the Spicy Tender Pork(stir-fried and delicious), and the and the Banana Tempura Ice Cream. Tempura Banana is pretty cool, green tea ice cream is pretty cool but whipped cream that melted into a pool and then infecting the other two is not cool. I’m not a fan of whipped cream and would be annoyed at that. Overall, a pretty cool hangout. I can imagine it being fun at night. E3rd is really an asian fusion place, not so much a steakhouse as there are only two three cuts and they’re not noticeable on the menu. Prices are downtown prices but away in Little Tokyo. see pics here!

2nd visit here last night since the parents were staying over. My dad always get worried about price, but what Filipino Dad doesn’t worry about price. Prices do vary from $ 10 to $ 30 per entrée, with the sandwiches going to be the least expensive of the bunch. I wanted to try something different, no more sandwich for me. Not in the steak or chicken mood, I went for the pork. Tender Spicy Pork, along side with kimchi mashed potatoes, rice and green beans. This is VERY good. So tender, so full of flavor, not too spicy, but it has it’s small kick(sorta like sweet mixed in with spicy). The sauce tastes awesome with the mashed potatoes and rice, plus the tender pork strips have bits n’ pieces of fat dangling, YUM. Looks like the night life here is great, there’s a lot of young people hanging around for drinks/appetizers/dinner. Try this place, or even better yet, bring me along with ya so I can enjoy it with you, lol!

I had a wonderful time here! Thank you Mama~Mia for throwing a UYE here. The night we went, most of the patrons were wearing name tags(another website gathering/social place was here). The bartender we had poured our drinks strong AND wasn’t holding back on the quantity of the drink. I asked for a double shot Kamikaze’s and always ended up with TWO glasses. It also happened to be DJ Icy Ice’s birthday this night and he was spinning some really good music. Mixed a lot of true hip hop with some old school rap and pop. The food I did eat this night courtesy of Mama~Mia was quite good. I remember having my mouth lit on fire because of some Spicy Tuna roll. I also remember it being sweetened up by some steak my friend Ivy got. A fun experience and there was plenty of eye candy that night. I wouldn’t mind going again to hang out with some friends, grab some drinks, and probably, shake my non-existent bootay.

I was clued into this place by a friend who gave me a free entrée coupon, finally got to visit here this past Saturday evening with a Kaz S. who’s a fellow Unilocaler. We both love meat so we liked our options on the menu here as they have a few choices for beef and for pork, took a bit of time to decide. First though, this place is off the beaten path of downtown. Kinda tough to ge to because of the numerous one way streets. I thought I’d have no problem as I’ve been around down there but I had to perform a couple«advanced» turns to get here. When I arrived I found ample parking just out front. The décor is modern industrial, it’s a slender layout that I’m sure gets lively at night, we sat next to a permanent DJ booth that kinda gave us a boot feel, there are no booths here but the tables are evenly spaced, and with the decent music level conversation is easy to focus on. Our watier was pleasant and gave us plenty of time and help with deciding, Kas S. had a yummy sake martini and I opted for my standard Stella beer. Past reviews mentioned slow service, we had a show to catch after so we had an early meal but our whole dinner never felt slow, I’d say it was more than just right. So, I ordered an asparagus becon wrap appetizer. See pic, so good! I read about their marinated rib eye so I got that, I’ve never had beef that could just about eaten with a fork only! Very tender and it had a very full flavor, it was complemented greatly by the kimchee mashed potatos which I’ve never had. There was also a scoup of rice and green beans, see pic. Would like to come back perhaps later in the evening to experience the lounge a bit more, will definitly come back for the menu! And maybe a handful of sake martini’s! ;o)

Sad, I wrote this extensive review on E3rd but it didn’t save. So this is my paired down version. Tried the Dine about LA prix fixe menu of $ 25 for 3 courses with my friend. My 3 choices: — Ahi tuna(2 slices + salad) — Beef short ribs(1 fat one. Very succulent. Wished I had more). Entrees come w/a scoop of rice and 2 sides. We had kimchi mash and mushrooms for friend, string beans for me. — Green tea ice cream.(this goes well w/the tempura banana) Friend’s 3 choices: — Fried scallop(2 + daikon; do not order if you have a big appetite) — Fish w/stir fry tofu & kimchi. Sounds stranger than it tastes. Hearty and warm. — Tempura banana(aka fried banana.) Food: — ok -. Unique but nothing I would crave except maybe the ribs. Décor: ultra loungy, dark, red lights, flat panels, big long space. Service: my favorite. Steve our server(likely manager too) was super nice and attentive. He regulary gave me fresh cups of hot water with lemon. No one really remembers to pour you hot water and keep it hot. But he did. My hero.
