So refreshing, the tacos were perfect and freshly made. Less than $ 7 for my plate! Quick service. Neighborhood isn’t the greatest. But this is one of those hidden gem, hole in the wall places, with excellent food!

Was in LA last week and found this place by sheer luck while showing my family around the city. I had the best street taco ever in my entire life here. Moist, delicious, perfect. Incredibly delicious. I will be back the next time I am in town.

If you’re in town and are looking for some real homemade street tacos this is your place! The food is great beans and rice are homemade not out of the can! Meat here is deliciousness and not fatty at all! Whatever they use as a marinade is amazing!

Tacos de pescado are on point. I asked for extra crispy! I also come and eat Tortas. They use creamy avocados.

Location may throw you off but their food is absolutely delicious. We’ve been eating here for years and they never let us down. Meats are always good quality, never any fat/nerves in my tacos. Definitely a place I recommend to all friends and family. Just went to a birthday party catered by them and food was just as great. Will definitely hire for any upcoming events.

Best Taco Stand in Los Angeles, Period. Take it from a 30-year resident of the city who’s also lived in various places in Mexico. You won’t be disappointed.

I use to live a couple of blocks away from here when I was a kid, and my mom would take my brother and I here from time to time. This place is very small and it looks as if it was part or attached to a home. There’s a few benches outside so you can sit down and eat. Do not let the exterior view of this place stop you from helping yourself to some of the most tasty tacos you will find. The carne asada tacos are perfect and so are the lengua. I haven’t lived in this area for a long time, but whenever I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop by. Definitely a top 5 for tacos!

«Sheesh…you call this a vacation?» «NO! I call it TACOISLAND!» With Los Angeles pretty much earning the title of America’s Taqueria Capital, if you see an author publish in his book that declares one taco stand the«best in LA,» you have to wonder if it’s hyperbole to the extreme, or maybe — just maybe, he’s onto something. I first heard of El Cihualteco(not to be confused with the OTHER El Cihualteco a few blocks away) in some unknown«Secret Eats of LA» book I picked up at the university bookstore. With it being only a few minutes from USC campus, and me having an utter lack of any self-preservation instinct, I ventured forth into the uncharted urban jungle, in search of the Holy Grail of Taquerias. My journey was not in vain. For lo, I gazed upon the menu and my eyes were forcefully and inexplicably drawn to the Pura Carne burrito, as if the mere mention of the words«pura carne» created an invisible tractor beam… a tractor beam of meat. There are millions of things in this world that aren’t what they’re represented to be – false advertising, if you will. This is not one of them. «Pura Carne,» for those who live in LA yet still lack rudimentary Spanish-speaking skills, means«pure meat.» And this is about as pure as it gets. No namby-pamby fillers like beans or rice, or even onions and cilantro are to be found. Nay, this is the burrito equivalent of a Chippendale’s locker room: nothing but greasy, spicy meat. …wait, maybe that last analogy wasn’t so appetizing to some of you. However, if you were to trust only one review I write, trust this: the Pura Carne burrito is quite possibly one of the best burritos on the planet. If you want your burrito with meat, hot sauce, more meat, and a generous ladle of grill drippings, this is your place. Be warned: the last couple bites may need to be drained, unless you make it a regular practice to drink liquefied fat. Consult your cardiologist before consuming.
