Searching on Unilocal for a good place to get a good thread job and hair trim, I’m happy to say I found one! I called and was able to be penciled in. Very nice customer service, they even called me when I was running late. I did get a little confused about the parking, but it’s also Sunday and street parking is free so there that was. They do have their own lot behind the building, just keep an eye out for it since it’s kind of easy to miss especially since Im not from Culver City, I was a bit confused.
Otherwise, my services were done to my liking. I asked for a trim and she (I didnt catch her name, :/​), did exactly that. I got to keep my length and enjoy the feeling of «trimmed» hair. I even got a little curl added and though I know it may not last long, because my hair can barely hold a curl, I loved it. Thank you so much!!! Definitely going back!!!

Farida is the best! I left loving my brows ! I’ve found my new eye brow place! I have tried so many and they always disappoint. The location is small so I would recommend making an appointment. Customer service was great. They even have a happy hour on certain services, I am definitely going back.

I’m a guy and I am very particular about my eyebrows. This is the best eyebrow place have even been in my life. My eyebrows looked on point (on fleek).

By far the best eye brow threading I’ve gotten. Fast and pain free, they looked even better than before and at $ 6 you really cannot beat the price. Farida did an excellent job! Thank you!

Ehh :(I really wanted to love this place. My boyfriend lives in the area so this place would have been so convenient… sadly it was just medicore. The lady thay threaded my eyebrows didn’t really do a clean job and she didn’t keep the shape as I had asked.
Still in search of someone who is able to produce a masterpiece out of my not so cooperative eyebrows. It doesn’t help that my eyebrows are so light D: thankfully I have found the perfect threader in my area.

Went here to get my brows threaded for the first time. Just got them «cleaned up» but she did a great job. Super quick and natural looking.

I come here to get my eyebrows threaded periodically, usually before a wedding or event coming up. The quality of the threading is great and the price keeps me coming back! For only $ 6 ($ 5 if you check in on Unilocal!) you can get your eyebrows threaded in no time. I usually do not make an appointment and come in after work. It is usually not too long of a wait. The only time I have had any issues is when I came during my lunch to get threaded… everybody else has the same idea! I had to leave and come back after work a different day.
The store is very tiny and easy to miss if you are driving too fast. It is right next to the Campos Tacos on Washington and there is parking in the front (metered) or in the back parking lot. If you are driving east on Washington, look for it on the right hand side. If you pass Dunkin’ Donuts you went too far.
When you come in be sure to get an electronic «stamp card» that you scan each time you come in. On your 6^th visit you get a free threading.

I came in without an appointment in the afternoon to get my eyebrows threaded. I didn’t get the name of the woman who threaded my eyebrows but she was amazing! My eyebrows were uneven and I desperately wanted it fixed. She recognized the problem and assured me that she would fix it and add shape to my brows. She worked carefully and took her time which I really appreciate. I’m totally satisfied with my brows and definitely coming back!

They did a great job of applying henna to my hair. It was high quality henna which is hard to find. Henna is a very messy process that I would prefer not to do myself. They charge $ 55 which I think is a reasonable amount for how labor intense the process is. My hair felt healthier and it colored some of the grays that I have. The ladies were very nice who did my hair. Will definitely be back.

She takes her time to get every angle & arch just right, and never leaves a single stray behind.

Great service! I am totally satisfied with the results. I came here to do get eyebrows thread after reading the Unilocal reviews and definitely is the place where I’ll keep coming. The lady was very friendly, I had no coins for the parking and she handed over a quarter for me. It took her around ten minutes or less to clean up my eyebrows and the result was just neat and perfect. I checked in with Unilocal and there is a promotion for eyebrows threading. I totally recommend it and I will continue to go there

After having someone make my brows absurdly uneven (and different shaped), I’ve been fighting an uphill battle to get them looking normal again. This is my new spot. Walk-In’s welcome (i’ve never had to wait longer than 10 mins), and really well priced. AND! You support a small business if you go here.

The location was sort of difficult to find because there are many businesses on Washington Blvd already and there is so much moving traffic that you feel obligated to keep going instead of being that person who stops in the middle of the street looking for a particular business. Best to park on the street next to the store, which is in between two others. Its nearly next to Dunkin’ Donuts so if you find that you’re definitely near. The lady did a great job with my eyebrows and she cleaned them up really well. They have a $ 5 deal on Unilocal if you check in! :)

I recently moved from Long Beach to El Segundo and was on the quest for a new eyebrow person. Being Indian and having thick eyebrows, I have realized they require a lot of maintenance and without going to a reliable person, you can come out looking ridiculous, perpetually surprised, maimed, or like you accidentally ran a razor over a piece of your face (or all of the above). I saw the positive reviews and decided to give Hair in Shape a try.
This place is VERY easy to miss. I had to circle a couple times to find it and ended up parking on one of the more residential streets behind it versus trying to find a spot on Washington. I didn’t see a private parking lot but may have missed it. The place is very small and definitely not ideal if you’re looking for a more spa type experience. It was fine for my needs – just an eyebrow threading. There was a woman sitting behind a reception desk and then Farida (I’m guessing based on reviews) was doing the actual threading. There was also a gentleman sitting on a stool in the corner that wasn’t a customer but I’m not really sure what his job was.
i didn’t have an appointment but she was able to get to me fairly quickly. There wasn’t much of a greeting or any sort of pleasantry – strictly business. I was a bit nervous because she was pretty rough – what I mean when I say that is that she was really rough in positioning my hands to hold my eyebrows in the way she wanted. I’ve gotten my eyebrows done probably dozens if not 100+ times over the years, but apparently my method of holding was not up to her standards and her frustration showed. That can be a little nerve-​wracking when you’re sitting there and there’s someone who seems annoyed at you hacking away at your eyebrows. With that said, I came away really happy with the results. It was quick and a little more painful than I’m used to-​but my eyebrows do look good.
I’m not sure I would go out of my way to come back here again, but if you live nearby or something, it could be a good option. For me though, my search for my new eyebrow spot continues.

The lady did such a good job, I took before and after pictures. She puts this lotion on before she threads. not sure what it’s for but I guess it helped. will definitely be coming back!

I had been getting my eyebrows done at nail salons (please, spare me…) and noticed that each time they were getting thinner and thinner… One eyebrow was completely shorter than the other and I went in with eyebrows I had been growing out for months. I was soooo nervous to let anyone touch them but this was the only place open after 7pm on a Friday night. I took my chances and now I can say I will forever have my eyebrows threaded here. And for JUST $ 6!!! Yes PLEASE
My next review will be for the individual lashes that are only $ 30!!!

Alright place with friendly service… not as meticulous as other places I’ve been though. It also didn’t feel like she tried to figure out what was best for my face but rather went with what was already there though I explained I was trying to even brows out. Brows weren’t trimmed either.
Parking around the corner is great.

I usually come in regularly for underarm wax and eyebrow threading. Both services are always great.
Today I came in for a Brazilian wax. I was nervous because my last Brazilian at a different salon was very painful. I was very impressed with how painless this was with Farida! And for the $ 30 special, it’s a great deal for really great quality. She’s thorough and offers lots of tips on upkeep for any services I go in for.
I rarely write reviews on Unilocal,but I just had to for this one because she really calmed my nerves, and this was probably the most at-​ease Brazilian I’ve ever had! Will not go anywhere else.

Good enough that I followed Farida from her previous location. There’s usually not much of a wait (and if there is a person ahead of you, they’ll likely be gone in less than 15 minutes).
I will mention that every time I have had her thread my face, she has applied some sort of gel/​cream without telling me what it is. I assume it’s some sort of numbing agent? No idea. But if you have sensitive skin just ask her to not when she reaches for the Q-​tip.

I’ve lived in LA for almost 5 years at this point, and in the past, I’ve always waited to go home for my eyebrow threading. I have a huge fear that someone is going to mess up my eyebrows, and well, hair there takes forever to grow, so I didn’t want to endure wonky eyebrows for weeks just because I chose badly. Thus. I am so glad I found Hair In Shape!
Price-​wise, this was a steal. $ 6 for brows (check in Unilocal for $ 5), and I’ve usually gone for the brow/​lip combo for $ 10, too. Since I always did my brows at those booths in the mall where price goes $ 15+, I was so so glad to find a place that did my brows just as good (and possibly even better) for the lower price! Farida seems to be popular, but I’ve actually never gotten here for them. I’ve always been happy with how my brows turn out though. I have a low pain tolerance, so brows and lip hurts like heck for me, but the results are worth it. :) Pretty sanitary here, which I appreciate.
Small parking lot in the back! Or if you’re lucky, street parking available nearby too.
