I go to this place for lunch sometimes. Their price is perfet for me($ 7 — $ 8) and it tastes really good! I like how it is spicy. You can see the chef making the food through clear window, which makes you feel safe to eat.

Their noodles are the best! It’s the perfect cut and texture man, so good Their jjambbong is flavorful but I’m more of a jja jjang myun girl and it’s one of the best I’ve had so far in my 27 years of existence. Tip: add a bit of vinegar and red pepper flakes to the jja jjang myun As for their tangsuyuk, it’s a pass for me. It’s a bit too sweet but then again, I don’t really like tangsuyuk in general so I may be biased on this one. Seriously, go try their noodles.

This place makes some good jjanjang and jamppong. Parking is not that great but food is worth waiting for. It’s pretty cheap considering what other Chinese restaurants charge. It’s about $ 7 – 8 per bowl which is really good.

So after reading many reviews, I decided to give this place a try for tangsuyuk and jjambbong. I’ve made this mistake before but AGAIN, sometimes I just cannot trust other Unilocalers. Or, maybe I’m just too critical. Well, I’m no jjambbong expert, but I can tell you this. Their jjambbong is terrible. Broth tasted nothing like seafood and noodle was overcooked. I could’ve just made myself some ramen and that would’ve been 1000 times better than this jjambbong. Now let me tell you what proper tangsuyuk is supposed to taste like. It’s supposed to be CRISPY! This place serves the sauce on the side and the tangsuyuk is STILL soggy. There’s no trace of any crisp in it. WTH. And the vegetables in the sauce was sooo soggy and overcooked, it tasted like from the day before. I’ve never had such horrible tangsuyuk. Nevertheless, while I was dining I saw a lot of people coming in. Mostly non-koreans. For people who don’t know what real jjambbong and tangsuyuk should taste like, I guess it can be somewhat good but for me, Methinks NOT.

I’m so happy that LA has this restaurant. I only find out the last time I went to LA. This is my favorite restaurant in Korea. I’m so glad they have it. I went to this place twice in two days and it’s my absolute favorite. Jjampong– spicy noodles and fried pork with sauce these are my favorite menu. Prices are reasonable.

My husband, his cousin, and I went here for dinner one night and ordered 2 jjambbong, 1 jjajangmyun, and 1 order of tangsooyuk to split. The tangsooyuk was very tasty and light compared to that of other restaurants. The sauce was just the right amount of sweet and sour. I sampled my husband’s jjambbong and was very surprised at the broth’s taste. It had a bit of an Old Bay feel to it; it wasn’t a bad thing, just different! Then I took a bite of my jjajangmyun and then it was game over. I silently ate the entire bowl while the two talked in between bites. At the end of dinner, all I heard was, «Dang, girl, you ate it all!» Yes. I did. And I would do it again. I’m so glad to have finally found a jjajangmyun other than my mom’s that I like… but too bad it’s thousands of miles away from me! :(

One of best Chinese-Korean fusion food joints to try out. But I must note that you have to be a person who enjoys eating spicy food. This joint is only for people who love spicy food. So if your tongue can’t handle spiciness, then do not even try this place. Their Jjamppong is well spiced soup mixed with various toppings and ingredients, such as squid, pork, cabbage, carrots, etc along with non soggy, well cooked noodles. I have been coming here on and off for 5 years now ever since this place opened up. Anytime I’m in Ktown, this is the spot I try to go to.

This Hong Kong banjum is great if you don’t mind the fact that they put some great amount of MSG. I personally don’t mind much if there is some MSG since I am mot the one making the food. But it gets annoying when there is a bit too much. This place is the one with a bit more of MSG than other HKBJs in Ktown. Other than MSG, parking is good and they take cards too.

If Unilocal let’s me give it a «zero» star, I’ve give this place a «big fat zero» star. I order 2 jajang myun and 1 tang sooyook, and it was $ 28. The taste from these foods was not even worth $ 1. The jajang myun was soooooooooo bad, didn’t eat quarter of it, had to throw the whole food away. The tang sooyook had sooo much deep fried flour on it with a pea size pork in it and the sauce was so bland that it tasted like it was made months ago. The korean lady busy talking on the phone and got these hispanic guys making these foods. If you like donating money, go here. If not, stay away from here as far as you possibly can. Today was the first time there and it will be the last. Stay away.

I remember coming here for lunch 2 days before my wedding. Both Peter & I were mind blown by the taste. I would’ve given it 5 stars probably back in the day. But not now. I returned today with high expectations. Ordered the seafood noodle soup and deep fried pork thing. The noodle soup was good! However, I found it alarming that the broth tastes very similar to the nong shim instant ramen. Don’t get it twisted; I LOVE nong shim instant ramen… but not when I’m expecting restaurant quality food. Bottom line is I’d come here again, but just for a quick meal to satisfy my hunger only… not to satisfy my taste buds.

They hung up on me several times. All I wanted to know was if they had pork buns. What did I ever do to them?

As an earlier review mentioned, they’ll hang up on you without reason if you come at them in any other language than Korean.

When your restaurant serves up pretty much only three things on the menu, they better be out of this world good. Especially if it’s Korean favorites such as jjajangmyun(black bean noodles) and jjampong(spicy seafood noodles). The restaurant is surprisingly empty and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it super crowded which might be a good thing if you’re hungry anyways. Service is quick and friendly and the short menu makes it an easy place to dine. We ordered the jjampong, jjajangbap(with rice instead of noodles), and tangsooyuk. I’m really picky about my jjampong because it’s one of my favorite noodle dishes. It was pretty good here but it was missing that depth of flavor in the broth. They weren’t skimpy at all with the vegetables and seafood so i really appreciated that. Huge portion of noodles too. My boyfriend’s jjajangbap was also pretty good. They went that extra step and provided an omelette for the rice which just made it a good dish. I think they could work on their jjajang sauce though. The thing that really disappointed me was their tangsooyuk. It was basically all breading and their sauce was really off too. I felt like I was eating fried batter which is never a good thing. Overall, I think this place is good for a quick fix to your Chinese-Korean fusion dishes but I wouldn’t necessarily make a trip to eat their noodles. Parking is kind of a pain too so avoid peak hours and you’ll be good to go! 3⁄5

They make some legit Jajangmyeon Noodles in blackbean sauce! The sauce has the perfect balance of sweetness with a slight tang, and the noodles are always cooked perfectly, slightly chewy. They don’t serve raw onions on the side for some odd reason and wouldn’t give me any until I kept repeating relentlessly like a broken record that I wanted some freakin raw onions and was then handed a bowl of them. They also don’t have kimchi, had to go to the other food purveyor in the market to buy a side of it, so heads up on that. Otherwise, those noodles are legit for only $ 6.50!

Jjam ppong. Generous portion for $ 5.99. You’d instantly feel that broth tastes like instant ramen noodle soup. Didn’t have that ‘taste of fire” I was looking for. Body was okay. Not too thin or too thick. But overall, it was tad below mediocre. Noodles were worse. Too thick, too mushy. The only thing I liked about it was the generous portion of squid and pork.

This is my favorite jjambbong place. I don’t care if it has MSG, I’m sure everywhere else uses it also. It’s really fresh and made to order because their menu consists of 2 items, maybe expanded a bit more now, but you have to get the jjambbong because that’s what they are famous for. I like it because it’s a good spicy, simple, tastes like Shin Ramen which I like, and has crunchy fresh cabbage and perfectly cooked squid. Noodles taste fresh also. Simple. Delicious. Cheap, about $ 6. The bowl is large, I usually share one with a girlfriend, making it cheaper than McDonald’s! They have many locations now, but the one inside Gaju Market is still my favorite.

I usually go to Hong kong bajum in kaju market. We drop by there to eat 2times per week. jjampong is great n cheap. My husband also like it. But I gave 2 star coz of the cashier. She always got angry to Spanish co-workers n shout to them. It seems like she is little rude to them. In addition she isnt kind even customers. She is never smiling. Im not sure she is owner or not. She need to practice how to treat to customers.

What is the big deal? is what i thought… when my friend couldn’t stop talking about this place. It IS a big deal. Tucked in a korean grocery store, this place has absolutely no frills and is so very casual/hole in the wall-esque. Everything is made to order. When we ordered tangsuyuk, they told us it’d take about 10 minutes. So, we asked to get both jjambbong and tangsuyuk at the same time. The entire kitchen(which is VERY small) is visible over the glass wall/divider. After you order, you can see them frying tangsuyuk and making soup. There was a man sauteing vegetables and fresh seafood in a huge wok. THey quickly reheat the noodles and put in the soup. Everything tasted fresh — the vegetables and meat and seafood. My friend said that the broth tasted less MSG laden. I’m not as sensitive to MSG as she is so i couldn’t really tell, but i will take her word for it. I will DEFINITELY come back here.
