Celebrated my daughters birthday there and we had a blast. Don’t get me wrong, it is a bit pricey. But staff is friendly and they sing! This Friday was a variety like opera… musicals. And some current music. Overall great experience.

I’m not a picky eater so it takes a lot for me to be dissatisfied. The food was disappointing for the price. It’s really expensive. The fried zucchini wasn’t tasty, and the cannoli had ice pieces in it, as if they just pulled it out of the freezer. It was small and they put melted whipped cream around it. Not worth $ 7. I sent it back nicely. Felt bad for our nice server. She gave me tiramisu instead. Once again, not good at all. It was mushy and melted. I’m just so surprised because I’ve heard good things about this place.

I came here the other night with a large group of friends for a gathering and had quite a wonderful experience. The ambience and wait staff of the establishment are really warm and friendly and make you feel like you are part of an entire dining«experience». In case you didnt know already, the waiters SING. Periodically, someone would sing a song(from a musical/disney) and it would be excellent. I found myself singing along to most of the songs and it really increased the energy in the building. The pianist was also excellent, especially as he was improvising his own pieces. Since I came here in a big group, it was nice to have live singing and music. I must say though, if I came here with a very small group(4 or less) in a more intimate event, I would probably be annoyed by the extremely loud music because we had to talk over it. Foodwise, it was okay. Definitely not the«Best» italian food ive had for the price(15−20ish per dish), but still tasty. I had the lobster ravioli special. The insides of the raviolis were REALLY stuffed, but I couldnt taste any of the lobster bc of all the other filling and the rich sauce on top. A dish with 6 raviolis cost $ 21. On a good note, the waiter split the dish for us since I mentioned we were sharing. Complementary warm bread rolls were nice. Many parties in the restaurant were celebrating events, and they brought out ice creams with candles on it for our friends who were leaving town. Large parties automatic 18% gratuity. Valet or street parking(tricky).

We ordered the house special pizza. I did not care for the crust. I ate one slice and gave the rest to my guest. Enjoyed the piano and singing staff.

Hello again my children, As a proud Italian, I took my visit to miceli’s very seriously. Upon entering the establishment, I politely questioned the hostess if there were any employees who spoke Italian. The question seemed to have caught the her off guard and the response was an astounding«no». This was the first red flag. How could this be possible?!! It is such an atrocity similar to that of running an auto shop without having any mechanics employed. Nevertheless, I maintained high hopes. I had previously visited another miceli’s in Hollywood which thoroughly let me down. I had ordered the pasta carbonara which was an absolute abomination! The pasta was soaked in oil and by soaked, I mean it was being borderline molested. Nevertheless, this was a different location so I decided to give them a clean slate from the start. My very observant friend, Mario, immediately questioned the sincerity of our waitress. Sure enough, our experience quickly spiraled into a nightmare. The food was fairly good however was immensely tainted by the experience we had with this waitress. After over five minute of waiting for her to pick up our check, I had to physically take it to her. Upon asking her to split checks,(might I add we had two cards with only one item on a specific card and the rest on another– a very simple situation one would think), the waitress hesitated and told me to write down the items for each card. I happily did so even though we had patiently waited for her to collect our check. After waiting another five minutes, she finally returned to collect our check. This is where the«shit hit the fan» might I say. We waited for over 10 – 15 minutes and she never returned. Following the absolutely ridiculous wait time, especially considering the restaurant was empty, another gentlemen who worked there brought us our check. At this point, we were a little irritated considering how long we had to wait and how our waitress was overcomplicating every situation and did not even bother to return. It was odd and definitely a red flag. We began to look over our checks and found that she had automatically added a specific tip for both checks. We were livid considering how pathetic the service had been. There was no way in hell I was going to tip her the amount placed on the tip. We patiently tried to wave her down to no avail. Considering that all the other employees were goofing off and not being alert to their customers, our patience quickly ran out. Finally, a gentlemen responded to us and stated that he was sorry she didn’t inform us but that tip was automatically added if the check was split. Considering this wasn’t the case at the other miceli’s, we were fairly livid. Especially since this was not mentioned to us by our«lovely» waitress. Had we known, we would have not split the check as she did not deserve the tip she received. Overall, that experience permanently tainted our opinion of the restaurant and the ok food was not, by any means, worth the shitshow that ensued. Find a real Italian restaurant, my friends. This is a poor attempt with horrible customer service.

Although there are two locations of Miceli’s, I’ve never set foot into one until recently. After this experience, I won’t be setting foot into one again. When I moved here, I had heard about this place that has singing servers. This is not my kind of thing, but for the gimmick, I figured I would try it since it was the birthday of a friend and this was the place they chose. Figured this would be a good time to try a place that has been around for ages. First off, I was reminded of another place I don’t like(Buca di Beppo). I was never crazy about this establishment from the food to the loud, noisy environment. Miceli’s echoed this like a nightmare I’ve had before. Things started off well by having the two of us seated before the remainder of the party showed. A sign clearly stated that all members of the party must be present before being seated, but this was clearly ignored. A possible foreshadowing of what was to come… After everyone arrived, the waitress came up. Although she seemed, well, ‘happy’, something was off. I don’t know if it was anxiety or meds, but whatever the issue didn’t make for a good server. She was all over the place(mentally) and she ended up spilling one of the drinks onto the guy sitting across from me. He was very cordial about this, but we all felt better once she left the table. Food arrives, and the people that have visited before knew what dishes they wanted right off the bat, but they all claimed it wasn’t as good as they remember. I just ordered a chopped caesar salad and it was very heavy with the dressing, and I didn’t even finish all of it. Check arrives, and there was an odd upcharge on my dish. Since our waitress was nowhere to be found(and she was not ‘performing’ at the time), I went to the front to ask the staff if they could tell me what this charge was. Apparently, there is an extra charge to chop a salad. This was NOT listed on their menu, nor was I told as I ordered this, and as I relayed this to them, their response? «It should be, but it’s not. Sorry.» Figures I should not have counted on the wacko waitress to inform me of this. It’s not just the upcharge that was the disappointing experience, it was the attitude about it, and everything else that wasn’t up to par. Needless to say, no one in our party will be celebrating anything there again.

Been coming to Miceli’s in various locations(including the old one on La Cienega in Beverly Hills) for exactly 50 years. Suggest going for the Heavy Red Sauce, its the best in the city. Heartburn guaranteed! But who cares, its thick and delicious. Forget the Caesar salad, the shrimp, the steak. Try the ravioli or any pasta with the red sauce and share a pizza. I love the food. That this resty has the singing waiters only makes it more fun. And now, I see, you can make a rez, which makes it even better.

I’ve driven past this restaurant for almost 20 years and finally got the chance to dine here yesterday. I would’ve given one star but the place is so cute I settled for two. This was probably the most bland and subpar Italian food experience I’ve ever had. I had the fettuccine carbonara and no element of it was great. The sauce was bland and not creamy, the bacon was soggy(ew), there were big chunks of red onion that weren’t even cooked all the way… the whole thing was just.no. My dad’s Caesar salad was alright. The lettuce did not seem too fresh. and the mozzarella sticks we had as an appetizer were good, but then again, you really can’t mess up fried cheese… right?

Well it’s fun, and atmosphere has an authentic feel to it, and great singing waitresses and waiters! Now the food… Steak and shrimp tasted like it had been in the freezer 2 months, the pesciatori linguine soup has zero flavor to it. The bread is not made fresh, come to think of it nothing is fresh! This place is survived by the shows!

This place is too cute for words! Been here twice already and it could be such a different place depending on what time you go. The first time I went in the afternoon around 4 ish on a Monday and it was very quiet calm music playing, very nice. Second time I went it was around 8 ish on a Sunday and that place was LIT people were singing, their was a pianist and the waiters take turns singing on the mic haha it’s such a good time! Definitely a homey feel, I love this place! They have one of the best chicken lasagna everrrrr. It’s such a big place so I’ve never had to wait for a table. Plus I like going Sundays cause parking is free on the streets. Our waiters have been so nice and attentive. Place is clean and fast on giving out your food! Oh! And Haqumai is one hell of a singer!

Went last night with the family, service was decent not wonderful, but decent. My waitress had several tables so I was very understanding knowing that she prob had her hands full so I didn’t take it out on her. Hey she’s a great singer and we all applauded. I feel management needs to pay more attention to the customers instead of having the waitresses and waiters sing. On a $ 200 check I still tipped $ 63. Good was great as usual. Would I return, ummmmm… yes. Great environment for people of all ages.

Old school Italian just like the stuff I grew up with. The best part of this place is the balcony… That’s right look up in the middle of the room. It’s sooooo cool, it’s a fixed menu and you can do it worth or without alcohol. you want to have fun with a date? Book the balcony. Call and check because it books up fast. I would do it again in a second. Garlic bread rocks and everyone is leaving with stinky breath… yay.

After taking my first bite I said out loud to my friend: «This tastes exactly like what it’s supposed to». I am nearly 100% Italian, so I know my Italian food when I see it. I am tired of fake Italian food in restaurants. I am tired of Americanized Italian food. This food tasted exactly how my nonna used to make it.(Sidetrack– this food was SO delicious that, while writing this review, I went downstairs and heated up my leftovers and I am currently nibbling) I ordered the Shells Primavera and my friend ordered the Spaghetti Siciliano. I had a bite of hers and WOW it was flavorful. Olive Garden, you better be taking notes! Overall this was the best, most authentic Italian restaurant in LA. I’ve already told my Italian parents that I’m going to take them next weekend!

OMG, I love this place. The food is amazing, the music is invigorating and the wines are fantastic! LISTEN men, you want to impress your lady? Then take her here, she’ll be in love with you. Well, I can’t guarantee what would happen upon your exit from there but while she’s there she will be in love HANDSDOWN. Weekends are the best times to go, the energy is high and music is fantastic. It’s authentic and oozing with Italy. I used to live there so I know what I’m talking about. My answer, go go go… Call’m now… Ciao!

As a surprise, my man reserved the balcony for us. It’s a private table up a spiral staircase and through, what we fondly call, «the hobbit door». Seriously, be prepared to duck and almost crawl through a tiny door in order to get to your own private, very little, balcony. It’s AWESOME! I felt bad for the server since he had to make that trek to wait on us, but we felt very taken care of and never ignored! You look above everyone and the entire restaurant and have this incredibly romantic and special time together! I’m afraid of heights, but the experience was SOOOO worth overcoming my fears. It’s a price fixed menu. We don’t drink so that part sucked for us, but there was more food than we could possible finish. The eggplant Parmesan and minestrone were not the best ever, but combined with the experience, I had zero complaints and would do it again in a heartbeat. Tons of garlic though, which can be darn tough on the make out session that follows dinner.

Popped in seeking a divine comfort meal… And I found that and oh so much more than I could have dreamed here… Sautéed mushrooms that would make my momma cry. Yep! That good! Loves us momma! You know I don’t want to make you cry! But these are worth ever tear shed! Ms. Fiona tattles after 6pm the profession singing waitstaff is on note! Oh and she did not lead me astray! Meow! I’m officially in Love! Thank you Fiona! My kinda juke joint!

By way of an update, I’ve had at least 2(maybe more… can’t remember) Miceli’s employees write me hateful and even threatening notes on Unilocal as a result of this review. So these people are not only annoying with their singing, they’re apparently crazy. I’m not afraid of singing waiters — unless they insist on singing during my sub-par Italian dinner. That’s terrifying! I recommend staying away from this tourist trap… it appears the staff is seriously unhinged.

First time here. Came with my family for dinner. We arrived early, about 30 minutes and they let us in. Valet parking but it’s free. They have live music. The employees sing for you and you have a piano player. Our waitress was very nice!!! I ordered the ravioli despite the review on Unilocal since that’s my favorite. The cheese ravioli wasn’t too bad but the sauce seemed Canned but had great flavor to it. The rolls were ok. I ordered a tossed salad with 1000 island. Pretty good. In the smallest bowl ever though. Made it a little hard to eat. My family got spaghetti, salad and meatballs. No complaints. My dad ordered the fetticini. Wasn’t too good. The sauce has a funny taste so we returned it. Bathrooms were a little dirty. There was toilet paper and covers on the floor. Floor was dirty. And on a random note. I find it a bit funny but this is an Italian restaurant and they use Chinese take-out containers lol.
