The cucumber cocktail was amazing!!! * Too bad I forgot to use my check in deal because my drink came out to almost $ 18.00!!!

2016 Unilocal100CHALLENGE: 3⁄100 I recently came here on a Saturday night with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday and it was honestly a good time. The second band was good and had the people moving throughout the night but the dj wasn’t that good-nothing special. He would play a few oldie hits but then he would play some random stuff that had you waiting for the next better one. I didn’t like the fact that in order to sit on the tables there was a minimum of $ 50 per person. A bunch of tables by the bar that sat 2 – 3 people all had reserved signs the whole night! The waitress made it confusing in explaining how it would work if we chose to sit down. We eventually did and the bill was true to the expected total. The food was okay. We ordered the sliders, fish and chips, chicken satay, cauliflower, and onion rings. The best of all was the onion rings with their lemon ranch! Everything else was mediocre and not so full on flavor. Our waitress was nice for the most part so that was a good thing. The people there were pretty awesome! Age range of like 24 – 50 and it was definitely different in a good way. As you looked around everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves which is always good to see. I was generous in giving it 4 stars because I really liked the place and atmosphere. All I would suggest is better quality food and non minimums for small tables.

You know, I love this place! Came here on a Saturday night around 10:30pm after visiting Perch next door. The wait was 5 minutes and there was no cover. The door man was cool and the feel, more on the casual side of dress. I’d say dressy casual. Upon walking down into the club you will be greeted by a giant fish aquarium that lights up the club in all its multi-level glory. The music spans decades and you might find some Beetles on to re-live your youngster days… not that anyone there might recognize it because the demographic ranges from mid-20s to mid-30s. The vibe is cool and fun. Plenty of seating available to take a breather and sip your drink that took but a few minutes to grab from one of the many bars surrounding the place. It was packed comfortably full of people, but not crowded. All of these reasons why this is one of my favorite places to grab a drink, dance, and let loose. A lot of trendy clubs can’t compare.

Saturday night at Mrs. Fish… What a terrible experience, this is a bar where the bartenders rather wash dishes than serve people drinks(yes, they had clean glasses ready all around). The bartenders on the upstairs level belittle you and make you feel like a complete outcast/retard while they walk back and forth socializing. The bartenders lets the customer get to the point where leaning slightly over the bar counter isn’t good enough as a sign of interest, neither is the next step after of waving them down, it reaches the point where you wave your money back and forth because they’ve let you get that desperate to be served. Needless to say, the experience is worsened when you’re company is waiting behind you. After 20 minutes they finally decide to help me. Asking for an LA Water or anything that isn’t on their menu apparently justifies them telling you in a very nasty tone, «NO». They leave you wondering why you can’t have what you asked, as if you did something wrong(menus are not widely available, so I didn’t know that wasn’t something I couldn’t ask for). I asked, «what do you mean I can’t have that», again the bartender says«No».. . he left me with complete disbelief, a few seconds pass by and tells me that they don’t serve that. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just say that. I asked, «what’s good here, what do you recommend?», the bartender grabs a menu and hands it to me(here I go, now I have to wait another 5 minutes until I get served anything, or so I thought). At this point it really seemed that I was being discriminated against, there were people in the bar area, but no one was waiting for drinks to be made! It took 10 minutes after being given a menu for me to walk way, it was clear that my business was not desired here(my girlfriend asked us to leave, she notice that I was becoming very upset). I hope they contact me for further questions about my experience, I hope this experience isn’t shared by others as frequently. Although I won’t be surprised if the guy standing a few feet away from me that night ends up writing a negative review as well. The bartender was having a good time telling people«No» to first timers that didn’t know they didn’t serve Blue Moons on that level or through them(not so sure, just know that he was told no to his request for a Blue Moon). The place looked extravagant and thought I would really enjoy my time that night.

Fishes floating above you as you make your way around… Mrs. Fish is located in the heart of DTLA next door to Perch. My girlfriend and I were at Morton’s for DineLA and since it was a Saturday night, what else should we do? The drive from Morton’s to Mrs. Fish is about 3 – 4 minutes with plenty of parking lots near by. All within walking distance. We arrived around 10pm and lucky us, no wait or cover to get in. We made our way around and decided to get our drinks at bat in the corner. I will point out this one thing that really makes me unhappy is that it took us about 20 minutes to even get the bartender to notice us. I was standing at the counter. Once I finally got our drinks I made my way to the table she was able to find and we spent the rest of the night hanging out, doing a little dancing because they have live bands, and overall having a really fun girls night out. It’s definitely a more livelier crowd then say Perch next door. People just seemed overall willing to mingle with others. If you find yourself out on a Friday or Saturday(or both) I definitely would say to go to Mrs. Fish. It’s fun and unpretentious. Tips– our go to parking lot is $ 10 and they usually park it for you.

Well we certainly had a 5 star night here at Mrs Fish on a Friday. We stopped in for happy hour after a busy day at work. It was early so we were able to get a good seat at the bar. All types of ppl started coming in. Pretty diverse and cool crowd. Great band! Great food! Cool staff! We will become regulars.

The place has a great vibe with lots of little areas so you can have as much or as little privacy as you’d like. Our group got seated right in front of the band, which worried me that it’d be too loud, but it didn’t end up being a problem. The sound system was at a reasonable level and the band was fabulous. The wine menu isn’t very impressive but there’s other interesting drinks on the menu. Food was mediocre but not a bad variety of options. I’m gluten free, which makes it more challenging and I really enjoyed the tuna one. We had great service too so this one is definitely making my repeat list.

Mrs. Fish a unique place for happy hour. I came across this spot on my search for new happy spots in DTLA. Located by Pershing Square, Mrs. Fish a great bar to go and have some great drinks and food. Happy Hour cocktails and food are $ 8 and $ 5 respectively. The drinks are pretty strong and the food is well made. I got a moscow mule, the london calling, and the sliders. There’s live music which is really great. I do suggest reserving a table especially if you’re a big group. Although my experience was really great, there was a down side to my experience. I ordered a drink at the bar thinking that the drinks were $ 8 like it stated on the menu but when I closed my tab, I got charged $ 9 instead of $ 8. I decided not to use this in factoring my rating since the hostess and waitress we had at our table was extremely accommodating. But beware incase this happens to you. This place definitely is becoming one of my favorite happy hour locations and will come back soon. Note this place is a bar so you have to 21+ to get in, there are bouncers at the entrance.

Wow, this place is so awesome! From an event planner’s perspective, I’m in love. Built in beautiful décor, lots of space, and great sound quality. I came here on a Saturday night around 10:30pm to watch a friend’s band perform. I was immediately in love. From the street view, you might miss it. Perch is next door and the line there can be long. There was no line for Mrs. Fish. We walked right in and went down the stairs. There are so many little lounge areas. The place is really big. Bathrooms are nicely decorated too. Bartenders and servers were friendly. We sat in the reserved table near the band and no one said anything. They were pretty laid back. This place def. is not a club. At least not when I went there. There was a dj but people weren’t really dancing. Most people were sitting around on the tables, chatting and having a drink. They have food there too which looked really good. They have a pretty good happy hour as well from the menu. I’m excited to go back and hopefully do an event there in the future!

My girlfriend and I just spent NYE here and I really can’t recommend it more. The aesthetic is great, very LA. The waitstaff was ONPOINT all night which is even more impressive give the volume of people attending the new year’s party. We plan on going back sometime really soon and bringing friends.

When in doubt, Mrs. Fish to the rescue. We have always decided last minute to swing by here(why?) not too sure. But every time we have been there, Mrs Fish rocks. We’re able to get seating, drinks, and have a great time. Great service(management and serving). The drinks are fantastic, good live music, fish tanks above(Find Nemo!!!) and a great chill lounge. I loved the Chilean Breeze. Love love love. Can get pricey, as you’re downing their delicious concoctions, but totally worth it. It’s the downstairs bar next to Perch/Rooftop bar. Parking: Valet, street, luck, or redline.

This is a really cool place in DTLA which I think I would have overlooked if my cousin didn’t have her birthday party here. It shares ownership with Perch, but seems like it is less popular. We came on a Friday night around 10pm and there was a line for Perch but we walked right into Mrs Fish. It is a cool place with a very nice ambiance. Loved the live music! You descend downstairs on a large staircase and you immediately take in the large suspended aquarium and lounge area. We had our own booth and bottle service which made it even better. We had a nice view of the stage where they were performing too. Drinks were good – DTLA prices and good variety. Liked that they offered multiple mules. Service was great too! They share valet with Perch(10 bucks) but we parked at the meters around the corner. Will definitely be back to check it out again. Its a great place for a large group that wants to hang out, dance and listen to live(and free) music!

The images of this place on Unilocal definitely make it feel bigger than it is. The fish tank is less impressive in person, but the staff is nice and the area(while smaller than I expected) isn’t terrible. Happy hour pricing is good, but to be honest the drinks weren’t. I had an old fashioned and a moscow mule, and neither were up to par. I don’t know if they have better bartenders after happy hour, but I wasn’t feeling the drinks. Not sure I’ll be back. Stay Cheerful ;)

In a word, I was underwhelmed. Sure, there’s a fish tank in there and that’s pretty cool, but beyond that attraction, Mrs. Fish doesn’t stand out from the rest. The food is edible. The drinks are interesting. The service is acceptable. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. Come here for happy hour and to check out some live entertainment.

I really love the vibe here, and there are a lot of places to sit down in this bar and just chill. This is NOT the bar to get crunk and dance. The décor is really cute and my favorite part of this bar is that there are so many levels to it. They have an upstairs, a main floor where they have performers, and a slightly lower level surrounding that. This gives the bar a lot of space for movement even though it does get crowded in some sections of the bar. Their drinks are also delicious. I’ve tried two to three of their mixed drinks and I’m definitely a fan. p. s. There’s usually not a huge wait time to get in as well which is an extra bonus :)

A very cute and chic lounge in DTLA, it’s next to Perch, but this place is underground basement. It’s called Mrs. Fish cause they have huge fish tanks hanging around, very fun to look at. We didn’t make a reservation, was lucky enough to get one of the tables around stage area, there was a live band performing, they were singing 60s and 70s songs, I really enjoyed their performance, I even invited the lead singer girl to our table and had a shot with her, it was fun. Later on some friends joined us, one of the girl’s birthday, we moved upstairs and ordered a bottle of Grey Goose, it was a very fun night, the crowd was extremely friendly. Drinks were big and strong, but the tab adds up if you keep ordering. So better get a bottle if you plan to drink so much. We had onion rings as late night snack, it was delicious. A very nice bar in DTLA, I really liked the vibe and ambiance, think we will be back from time to time.

Lisa Is amazing! I believe she is the manager or event coordinator for Mrs. Fish. Not only was Lisa amazing but the hostess was sweet the servers were amazingly helpful and overall happy bar. Very down to earth team for a swanky hit new bar! As you go downstairs you will see a beautiful aquirum right above you. hence Mrs. Fish. The bar is actually not as big as it looks in pictures but the live band and the overall feel of the spot def brings a lot of character and energy!

Suspended Fish Tank If I was an architect I would probably tell you that the 5,500 gallon salt water fish tank is suspended on the ceiling as a chandelier illuminating the architecturally stunning space by use of massive structural steel i-beams braced back to the concrete reinforced columns that are also the structure holding up the entire 16 floors of building above your head. Even though the water alone weighs about 50,000 lbs, the steel should be able to hold the entire aquarium in place in a seismic event… but hey what do I know. Not Quite Destination If you know Perch you’ll know that Mrs Fish is in the basement of the same building, the Pershing Square Building. The space is actually really amazing as you descend down a concrete tunnel into a completely different underground world. Yeah, it’s edgy and different, but for me it’s not the end destination. Why? Two reason, one I don’t have $ 100 for caviar, I’m poor. I like to charm my way into free drinks from the bartender. Two, the crowd and music is too tame for me, where’s the Sir-Mix-A-Lot?!

Make a reservation. I came in not knowing what this place was about and I love it! It’s like an adult version of an aquarium, or if you’ve ever been to Guppy tea house, it’s the alcoholic version. Fish tanks above you will definitely distract you for a good minute. It adds a very refreshing ambiance, like you’re near the beach for some reason. They have a live band that comes on a bit later into the night. Huge bar downstairs that’s very crowded, but if you wanna avoid that, there’s a smaller bar upstairs. Drinks? Chilean Breeze. Period. Just do it. Unless you’re scared of jalapeños. Just do it anyway.
