I took my girlfriend here on our first date and forced her to sink her teeth into a large and juicy dog… I guess it must have been pretty darn good because I got lucky that night! Oki Dog has a white trash/​homeless shelter atmosphere and décor. Its a total dive. The fries are pretty good through and the staff is always friendly… You will def have the shits after you eat here so watch how much you eat there’

Just passed by there the other day with my wife, the teriyaki chicken was superb! My wife got a the beef teriyaki, she also enjoyed it. Make sure you bring cash, they don’t except credit cards. I will pass by again, really liked it

I love Oki’s Dog. I eat there all the time. The chef’s Shinji and Masa always have great stories, and they should. they’ve been there since 1979! My favorite thing is the Hawaiian taco with homemade teriyaki sauce. (It’s not on the menu, but all the locals know about it. Pastrami and beef double taco with fresh lettuce and tomato.) Also the fries are amazing. They cut them fresh and thick, then fry them twice, belgian style. You will have a hard time finding better fries in L.A. Also the chili pastrami fries are the bomb. Best hangover cure.
Also — the Fairfax one is not the same owner. Not as good! Don’t confuse the two.

They make good food at a decent price. If you want good food at a fair price then this is your spot. Their fries are awesome! Do you season salt and that is what really makes it in my opinion. The flavor is so much better than just regular salt. I have to say their french fries are one of my favorite things on the menu I’ll be at a simple one.

Meh.
Burger was so forgettable. I ordered a bacon burger and the bacon was flavorless and paper thin. I asked them «what kind of bacon do you use?» Answer: «regular bacon.» Ok, fair enough. This is a burger stand not a restaurant.
But the burger was put on an oversized bun, the meat was barely seasoned, and it took 20 minutes to make?
Chili cheese fries were good but still kind of average. The chili tasted straight from the can, no discernible meaty texture or anything like that.
Cheese was melted nicely though and its a big portion. Fries were decent, and probably better off without the flavorless chili making everything soggy.
Cash only. Also don’t be surprised if you have flyers on your car trying to sell what seemed to be a selection of «fallen off the truck products» and also the chance that you will be harassed and followed by a shady dude asking for change.
Probably will never go back. Astroburger/​In-​N-​Out/​5 guys are all better fast food options than this.

I had two instances of slight pain deep in my solar plexus 30 minutes after eating it.
Went home and dropped a dump. Not diarrhea and about half of my usual dump. I suppose it was the volume of the new food pushing old food down.
Had the Oki Dog combo. It was food porn. Really bad food porn. Like 2 girls 1 cup of food but instead of two vaguely attractive girls sharing a cup of human waste, it was two wieners and runny poop in a wrap for wasted humans.
To live a life of no regrets you must first try the Oki Dog.

I love Oki dog!!! It’s been one of my favorite spots to go to if you want a greasy burger or my allllll time favorite Oki dog… Oki dog yummm filled with 2 hotdogs, pastrami, chili and globs of hot melted cheese!!! They’re not at all stingy with their fries either… one order of fries can fill up 2 people… if ur looking for a burger joint this is the spot to come…

I have been going here since I was in the first grade. I live up the hill from oki dog. that was over 30 years ago. it is by far the BEST pastrami anything. You haven’t lived until you had a pastrami burrito with EVERYTHING. the cooks are the same as when I was a kid, The food taste the same as well. Once you have tasted the food you will go again and again… I have had everything on and off the menu believe me it is the SHIT!

Oki dog a heart attack on a bun for real but it was dam good. I had the pastrami and a coke with crispy fries. It was good and I’m only saying this because I didn’t get heart burn the next day and the food taste so dame good!

Came here years ago don’t remember what I ordered but I’m back today and in 2015 I am on my vegan journey.
I ordered the Veggie Burger and I must say I am glad they have a vegan option here buuuut they can leave it off the menu. I mean the patty itself was cool but the bread wasn’t good and basically it didn’t do anything for my tastebuds.
My friend ordered the teriyaki burrito and he said he liked it but then again he is the type of person that will eat anything just to eat. He could care less about taste.
I will give five stars for the fries though… they was poppin’.

There is nothing impressive at Oki’s Dog. I don’t understand the hype.
The Oki Dog is large, and for some they like the double dogs, pastrami, and chili. Me, not so much. I like the taste of a quality dog such as Vienna or Nathans. The pastrami and chili over powered any taste the dogs had. They were almost just a filler.
However, it’s a bargain at only $ 6.00 for an Oki Dog, fries and a drink.
I think of this place kind of like a Tommy’s Burger. Great after a night of drinking with friends… But when sober, I’ll pass thank you.

Went here yesterday night @ 11 and ordered the signature oki dog– delicious! Synthetic cheese, pastrami, chili, and 2 hotdogs all wrapped in a burrito!!! I normally don’t like pastrami, but this was more of a corn beef cut and it was really good! Definitely would want to come here to try other things.
The atmosphere felt a little shady for me especially at night, would come during the day– the places to sit is really old, with old arcade games crowding the already small eating space. Very chill vibes though.

What more can you ask for a hotdog in a burrito with chili. The first time I went here was a Friday and since it was lent, I can’t eat meat. So I had their salmon with rice. It was alright, but my co-​workers had the oki dog and I really want it. On our next trip I made sure it wasn’t a Friday and brought my co-​workers.
I had the oki-​dog finally, I forgot that it’s cash only, good thing there’s an ATM 2 block across the street. When I tried it, it was still hot, but really good.
Outdoor patio seating was cool too.

pro tip — order it «Oki Dog» style, they’ll cut up their Oki Dog on top of it.
the Oki Dog is pretty delicious. But don’t order more than it, it’ll fill you up.

I was too sober to eat the classic Oki Dog. Two dogs, chili, cheese and pastrami in a flour tortilla. It was a gloppy, greasy mess. I know I could have gone for a plain dog, but it’s the signature dish! Had a stomachache the rest of the day. I have never regretted a meal as I did this one.
If you’ve been working in the sun all morning and need some quick calories, or just had a night out full of Fireball, this could be a good pitstop. otherwise, it might be wise to try one of the nearby Caribbean spots.

I’ve been a customer at Oki’s since I was a kid back in the 80’s Sadly I have not been to Oki’s Dog in roughly 5 years. Being not only a (former) member of the Mid-​City community, but also part of the Alta Loma Elementary family… I came in with some fellow co-​workers and we all decided to order «The Gonzo».
Long Story short… It’s Yummy Goodness.
I need to come back more often.
