I’ve been here a couple of times for special occasions. NOTETOEARTH: MAKERESERVATIONS! the ambiance is chill. it is pricey, however.

Came here a few weeks back. Big fan of Perch! Big fan of their manager Candice! She’s absolutely warm and the definition of hospitable and a special thank you to Angie in reservations! She made it all happen! Wife and i stuffed our faces. we started with the baby beet and Caesar salad we both added a protein and shared and it was absolutely delicious. For the main dish we had the loup de mer and the short ribs and while it felt a little heavy everything was exquisite and for dessert we had the crème brûlée and the almond cake and we couldn’t have asked for a more better dinner! My compliments to the Chef! What a great experience! Thank you for a great evening! Will definitely have to come back and try brunch!

Review is strictly for the bar. They have a magnificent view of downtown. It is usually pretty crowded and the drinks are made well. I wish they had servers taking drink orders. The bar on the roof top gets pretty crowded.

The view is definitely the highlight. Food is basically upper-end norm. Nothing that knocked my socks off and they were actually out of two things I had wanted for dinner. The top bar is great but the bartenders are a little snooty. One was nice, I should have gotten his name. The girls were jerks. Maybe because I am a girl and they thought I wouldn’t tip? Don’t know. I would have rated them as a 4 but the service does not match the price. A view and decent food can only get you so far… a 3 star for sure

Love this location for the nice rooftop view of DTLA you get. Obviously best during warmer nights. Only issue is you must arrive before 10PM, or else you will be spending most of your night in different stages of lines they have in order to get to the rooftop.

In the heart of downtown, it is also conveniently located next to Mrs. Fish as well! I can only comment on the drinks here since I never bothered with the food. Penicillin is a solid drink; strong enough to fight off any sore throat or cold, so you can’t use that as an excuse to not come out! The 2nd level is highly sought out after. I recommend arriving by 9 – 9:30pm and heading to the line right away. 10pm and after on a weekend, and you are toast!

Make an reservation, dress up, and enjoy your time here with your important friends and lovers! Food 4.5 I wasn’t going to give this high until I tried their almond cake with the ice cream on top… OMG so good!!! Other food we order are sliders(with lamb patty), skewers, and pork belly. Skewers were average, and pork belly tasted pretty good but a bit pricy for the amount of the food you get. We didn’t come here fore food food, we were just there to have couple drinks and celebrate my friend’s birthday so we were pretty full when we ate(maybe that made my rating a bit less than normal I don’t know haha). Environment 5 The view, the patio, even the heater works just GREAT. A little bit of décor on the tree here and there, even when we went inside it was great. I think maybe I just love this place. If you are in LA, must at least experience it once. Service 5 I forgot her name but she is soooooo nice. When our drink didn’t come on time, she gave us another one first and apologize for the wait. It was my friend’s birthday and she was patient and tried to help me. Thank you!

This is a brunch review. Came in on a Sunday with what we thought was a reservation but really turned out to be an error in open table! Thankfully the couches in the waiting area were open and after a few beverages and some conversation with a waiter we realized we could order here! Honestly — more comfy that the chairs so can’t complain here. On to the drinks, nothing that’s going to compare to the volume or creativity of other brunch bank district venues but good quality and came quickly. At $ 10 for a mimosa they aren’t cheap either. The Bellini was more interesting on the pallet than the old mimosa so stuck with those. The food was all good quality and solid portions. This place reminds me of high quality hotel food. All quality but not too risky. Call it the status quo of safe well made food. I went with the smoked salmon and it was quite good. Served warm with a potentially excessively generous portion of potatoes it didn’t leave me feeling too heavy of stuffed and the flavors were well balanced. My only question is whether the sauce could have been less flat and… Velveeta-esque. Not sure how else to describe it. Finally — the service overall was solid and our waiter was quite cool but as seems to be par for the course — slightly rude bartenders. I’ve decided LA bartenders think they are too cool for what they do so they don’t care about the peons trying to get buzzed. I’ll stick with the must for my Sunday beverages but if I’m going sober perch might be back in the game.

Perch offers an amazing dining experience as well as an astonishing view of DTLA. I was fortunate enough to try both the restaurant as well as the rooftop bar. Just a tip when you plan on dining in the restaurant, it’s very important to reserve a week or so before you dine in the restaurant unless you want to wait X amount of hours with no guarantee of getting a spot since they are almost always fully reserved from 5pm onward. Fortunately for my group we got in at 8pm and manage to get a good window seat at around 9:15pm. Let me just give a breakdown of all the food and drinks I’ve tried both at the rooftop bar and restaurant. Midnight in Paris($ 14) — This one has a really sweet taste! A must have for cocktail lovers! Ahi tuna tartar($ 16) — A really good appetizer with a slight spicy taste. Pan Roasted Salmon($ 27) — Perhaps the best salmon I’ve tasted minus some of the vegetables added on it :(, since I’m not really a vegetable fan. Bacon Macaroni($ 10) — Its full of cheese with some really strong flavor on it! For the price its totally worth it. Definitely an awesome rooftop bar and restaurant that is great for hanging out! Would definitely come back here again next time :)

Make Reservations for Weekend Brunch in Advance!!! Call them or go online through their website. Made brunch reservations for Sunday at 10:45am. The place was already pretty packed once I got upstairs. Our server was great and we ordered the Sangria pitcher for drinks($ 25). The pitcher filled about 6 – 7 glasses so it really is a good deal! I ordered the basic breakfast w/2 eggs, bacon and potatoes($ 12), but others in my group ordered the salmon Benedict, ahi tuna, oysters, and crab Benedict. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and the view! I requested to sit outside and they put us on the patio, which was cool. Would definitely come back here and try dinner. Unique dinning experience in downtown LA. Cool vibes all around.

I had a great time here, the food was good, our waitress was awesome, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We came here on a Saturday night around 6:00 and this place was absolutely packed, could barely move around there. We got a nice cozy spot in the corner for our party of 10. Reservations need to be made unless you’re okay standing awkwardly. Live music started around 7ish. The views were amazing, there’s even a higher point you can go to, however there’s a wait. Ended up getting(based on a set menu– the customized it for my friend’s Bachelorette party): LITTLEGEMLETTUCES10 avocado, radish, goat cheese, fines-herbed vinaigrette —- loved the goat cheese, perfect size and taste STEAKFRITES26 flat iron, maitre d’ butter, bordelaise, truffle cheese fries —- the fries on mine at least had the perfect amount of cheese on top… the steak was cooked perfectly, got it done medium rare. ORANGECARDAMOMCREMEBRULEE10 shortbread cookies —- really enjoyed this, I wish I could have tasted the cardamom on this a bit more, but it was still good. WHITECHOCOLATEBREADPUDDING10 bourbon caramel glaze —- usually I am not a huge fan of bread pudding, but I really liked this one, the bread was cooked perfectly. Overall, great service, good food, I really can’t complain.

Came here for a night out with the GF. She’s been wanting to come here for the longest time because of the rooftop view of DTLA. Unfortunately, there was a private event being held the night we came. We had to wait about 20min outside in line before even getting in. When we got in, of course there was no access to the rooftop but there was access to the bottom deck which still had a nice view of DTLA. Drinks are whatever here — a little pricey — and it might take a little while to get your drinks since the bartenders are pretty busy. I like that there is a live band and the atmosphere is pretty chill and romantic. I see why people like it here. Maybe I will come back next time for a 2nd chance if the rooftop is open. Parking sucks. There is valet and street parking. I was lucky to find an empty meter parking 1 block away!

Had a great time during a terrific happy hour(4−6pm). They do have a lot of fun small plates and a few wines and beers by the glass – all reasonably priced. The night I went, the patio got a bit windy, so we went inside to sit at the bar. Such a nice, timeless feel. I’ll have to go back to really dig into the menu, but the charcuterie plate, baked Brie, and the sliders were very tasty. The only way I’d like this place more is if the view was of a prettier skyline(perhaps San Francisco, Chicago or NY). But as far as beauty here in LA, watching the sun go down at Perch is pretty damn good. And how can you go wrong with live jazz on the rooftop?

Ahh… all the pretty people. Getting there is a two elevator journey(look for the button with the bird logo) and once inside, the setting is amazing. Chic. Comfortable. Romantic. I just came for drinks and didn’t leave disappointed. They have a great happy hour where a few cocktails are only $ 7(normally $ 12). My favorite was the Penicillin — Famous Grouse Scotch, lemon juice, agave nectar and ginger elixir(or if you are normal like me, call it syrup). The drink was well balanced and they go down with a quickness so be mindful if you need to battle the LA traffic afterwards.

Am I buzzed? maybe. maybe that’s the reason why there’s a 5 star instead of a 4 star. Regardless, this is what Perch had: — strong strong strong $ 13 cocktails. the bartender made a mistake on mine, so he poured an insane amount of compensating booze in it(hence the buzz) — breathtaking rooftop view — interesting, good looking crowd. — strong drinks. fantastic cocktails. Penicillin!!! — con. odd music choice. alexisonfire?! l — con. line to go to roof washrooms were clean and staff was great! -

While the drinks are still delicious(my fair lady). The service and food has declined. Came here for a birthday brunch for a friend and the reservation was pushed 1 hour behind. Unacceptable. The food was mediocre and overpriced, and they charged us for 12 people instead of 11(that were actually present). The salad that came with the baked brie was comprised of apples. There was still a sticker present on the apple and my boyfriend picked it out and set it on my plate. My fruit plate had a bug in it that was still moving. UNACCEPTABLE.

I’ve had my eye on Perch for about a month now. My friend made reservations for her birthday here so it was a perfect chance to finally give it a go. We all arrived at DTLA at around 10ish with the reservation at 10:30pm. Its located at the top floor(13th floor). I’m not a huge fan of elevators, especially ones in LA so I was already having anxiety. However, once we exited the elevator there was a guide who led us to another elevator. Great… Once we reached the place, I quickly became at ease. The ambiance is loud and energetic as opposed to what I had expected. Its half bar/lounge and half restaurant. The bar area was definitely poppin. We waited a few minutes as they set up the table. Once seated our waitress gave us a look at the menu but I was already content with getting the filet mignon. My steak was very juicy and tasty but the major downer was how the meat wasn’t tender at all and was kinda tough to cut through. The fries that came with it were a bit soggy but still very tasty. My friends had the chicken, the mac & cheese with bacon and some truffle fries. They stated that the best out of it was the truffle fries. The mac and cheese was also very good as the bacon bits were incredibly well cooked. The chicken I’m told was lacking a little and probably wouldn’t be ordered again by them. I think the food here is about a 3.5 to be honest but the atmosphere and scenery definitely gives the place a nice bump. I think this place is definitely more beautiful in the day time but at night time it wasn’t half bad either. The lounge/roof area was definitely majestic. I had a great view of the city. Overall with a great scenery, some decent food and a great nice ambiance, Perch is definitely a nice spot in LA. Its definitely more of a social hangout as oppose to a nice quiet dinner so be warned about that. The service was absolutely outstanding which is another reason why I’m bumping them up. The waitress was always courteous and patient with us. She smiled everytime and was simply lovely. Not a bad night at all. PS valet or park across street, the choice is yours PPS is that a piano in the hall after the first elevator exit… cool PPPS I completely almost forgot about dessert. For dessert we ordered the white chocolate bread pudding to share. This is clearly the highlight of the whole experience. It was so delicious words can’t describe how I felt upon my first bite. I was expecting it to be super sweet but nope, just the right amount of sugar. The fruits that accompanied it was really delicious too. My goodness, I would return again just to have this dessert over and over again.

I’ve heard about Perch from several friends and family members, and they raved about this place, so it’s been on my list for a while! When my friend from college told me she would be in LA, I knew immediately that I wanted to take her here to Perch! We made a 7:30pm reservation on a Wednesday, and we were seated immediately outside with a gorgeous view of DTLA. The whole vibe of the restaurant was traditional yet slightly modern. The building is an older building with lots of traditional/old school charm(think velvet curtains and antique mahogany furniture), so I loved that Perch really ran with that concept and added their own tasteful touches. To start off, my friend and I shared the baked Brie appetizer, which was warm with a flaky crust. The tangy veggie slaw that accompanied it added great depth to the dish. Then, my friend had the chicken supreme entrée and I had the salmon. While we both enjoyed our dishes, I did find the salmon to be a tad stiff — as if it had been sitting a bit too long. But it was still tasty. Finally, we shared the chocolate pot de crème, which was fantastic with its rich thick chocolate and the fresh berries. The only(minor) issue I had was the valet parking – or lack there of. When I called earlier, the hostess said that Perch starts valet parking at 7pm. However, when I got to the front of the building around 7:25pm, there was no one there with valet set up! Fortunately, there’s an outdoor lot just up the street($ 6 flat rate) so it worked out. Overall, we had a nice evening at Perch. With the live band and the cozy atmosphere, Perch is great for date night, after-work drinks and apps, or a get-together with friends! Given the location and the upscale vibe, the prices are not bad either! Service was excellent, and our hostess/waitress was super friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!

My sister recommended this awesome restaurant in DTLA. She had never gone there but her friends loved it. I called to make reservations, but unfortunately, they were fully booked on a Thursday night. I asked if we could just walk in, and the woman said yes; we could wait and hope for a cancellation or have a few drinks at the rooftop bar. We arrived to the restaurant, take the elevator to the 15th floor and then stairs to go up to the roof. We put our name down for the cancellation wait list. The gentleman said he would text me if a table opens up. For the time being, we went up to the rooftop to enjoy a few drinks with an awesome view of DTLA. I ordered My Fair Lady and my love ordered Saint Cloud, both delicious drinks. Strong drinks! You can choose to stand around(actually, you won’t have a choice if there arent any seats/tables available). We were lucky enough to have a couple tell us that they were leaving and we could take their seats, such nice people! We were looking for another place to eat as we thought we weren’t going to get lucky twice that night, but as I was looking for another place, I received a text asking if I was still interested in a table at Perch. We jumped at the opportunity and got seated. We waited maybe 30 minutes or less. We got seated inside but right next to the doors to the outside seating(idk how to describe it and I’m sure it doesn’t make sure). I didnt complain because we still had somewhat of an amazing view of the city and the sunset. My bf ordered their skirt steak special and I got the filet mignon. We got truffle poutine to share. Ordered more cocktails— Writer’s Block and our waiter picked out my bf’s drink, don’t know the name. LIke I said, strong drinks. Worth the money. Good ass food and drinks. Amazing view, love the rooftop for lounging with friends. Def recommend this place. Thanks Sis!
