We recently had a Bat Mitzvah at the Pico Union Project and we could not be happier. Since we are not affiliated with a local congregation, we had resigned ourselves to a park or hotel ballroom, but really wanted something more traditional. A friend recommended the Pico Union Project. It was originally built as a Jewish synagogue in 1909, converted to a church and now restored as a multi-faith cultural arts center and house of worship. The restoration is beautiful and the building buzzes with positive energy that has accumulated over a century of Jewish, Christian and multi-faith worship and fellowship. Though we loved the building, it is really the people that earned the five star rating. Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to make sure our event was flawless. Their guidance and assistance truly helped make our event special. They were so warm and caring, it really felt like we were part of a community rather than just renting space. The Pico Union Project also serves as a performing arts venue, with many performances open to the public. We look forward to returning for a concert or performance.
