Have you ever wanted to hire a photobooth company for your event, but don’t want to deal with the horrendously long lines that might form? Do you not have a lot of space to spare for this said photobooth? Well Printsamatic may be the business for you. I actually met the owner, Barry, of this company last week at the Taste Awards in LA. He explained a bit about his business concept and I thought it was really smart. So what happens is that the customer and his company agrees on a predetermined hashtag for the event. In the case of last week’s event, it was«#TasteAwards4» Barry’s software scours IG in real-time and when it comes across a photo with the specific hashtag, the photo gets sent to the on-site printer(which in itself is a sweet gadget) and you get cool print-outs of your IG pics! Pretty much, your guests can make anything their own background and can take as many pics as they want and edit it on their phone to their liking. Printsamatic uses good matte photo paper that has a slight sheen to it, but it definitely isn’t glossy(which I hate anyway). What’s really cool too is that you can include custom logos(or maybe your wedding date?) in the margins of the picture. The pictures look like someone put your IG photos on a Polaroid print so it gives it that cool, retro look. I liked the idea of using your own camera phones and adding your own filters. Also, your user name, everything you hashtag, & captions show up as well! Makes your finished product more personalized. I’ve actually come across a different company that does the same thing as Printsamatic, but their prints looked really bad, plus they were TIIIINY. Just because I took a picture with my iPhone doesn’t mean my pictures have to be same size as my screen. Printsamatic’s prints are nice, big, and frame-worthy. Your only limitation is the quality of your camera of course. I could see Printsamatic being a fun addition to weddings and social events like someone’s 16th birthday party or your company holiday party. The staff were all friendly and quick to help anyone who were slow on the uptake. :) I’m not sure how much it costs for Printsamatic’s services, but seriously if you’re tight on space, they may be a great alternative for you. I know they can provide backgrounds too, but if you’re kind of a no-frills type of person, this may be the right choice for you.
