My Wife and I were Invited by a good friend to take a look at Project Ethos which is held at this address on a quarterly basis. It appears that the originator and manager of this event intends to hold this event nationally, or at least in New York. I think the idea is one that offers opportunity to those in the arts to come together and show what they have to offer. Project Ethos is a platform for launching artistic dreams and visions. As we arrived we saw crowds of people moving in the direction of the location. There was a red carpet and for us a lot of unknown V I P’s. We were all of a sudden being directed to the red carpet until I explained that we were just average people. Once inside we were suddenly in an art gallery where we met our friend Adam who introduced us to his friends in the Art agency business. Since original art is allegedly not selling at all these days Adam had made some t-shirts with paintings printed on them. It was a novel idea that stayed on the ground through the evening. After having a glass of wine in the bar we went off to the next event of the evening. It was a Fashion show that featured creations from aspiring young designers in and around Los Angeles. For us that was the best part of the show. I’ll say more about this later. At about 2Am the third part of the show began: The Music Show. It started with three chineese rap artists and I just wasn’t up for that. I had to get up for work at 6AM so we decided to call it a night. In Perspective the ideah was good. Possibley some good came of it. What I think was weak about it is that the vast majority of the people there were 18 to 26 years old(rough estimate). Not into or inclined to buy $ 50.00 T-shirts let alone 35,000.00 paintings. Parking was 30.00, Tickets 20.00, a glass of wine 12.00. It may take some time and planning but this event could someday be productive. I’ll add more detail in a later edition. I’m giving it 4 stars for opportunity. This event took place Friday night, August 21st2009. James D
