I ordered Empanadas de platano.(Plantains dessert with milk inside). The milk was sweet. The plantains themselves were hard. Not cooked correctly. So over all the plantains dessert was bland. #Izzy

I usually come in once a month. For at least the past 5+ years. I don’t come in for the service, but the food. Food is great you can actually see when they are making it. But the service is what drives you away. Typically you have to get up and ask your self for something or sit and wait until they decide to help you. Small place it’s never been full, but yet the service leaves much to be desired… But food is great. Has that flavor that leaves you wanting more. Almost like home cooking!

First I haven’t had a pupusa in over 6 years when a Salvadoran friend took me to the Salvadoran neighborhood when I lived in Chicago. So anyway it was sooo damn yummy I was scared to try and find one out here. Well yesterday I was like damn it I’m getting a pupusa from someone and I’m stopping at the first place I see and as I was coming from the alley this was the first one. first, the hostess and lady behind the counter extremely extremely friendly and helpful. I asked could I get something to go sure no problem they said. My brother was with me and wanted to know what the Curtido was and since I knew I couldn’t explain it properly, I told him to ask the girl behind the counter. Well they struck up a conversation and she explained it to him in a lot of detail. she didn’t have have to. but that was very nice of her. I ordered my pupusas and dug in. Yum yum yummy. I didn’t like the bean and cheese one but I’m pretty sure that was just my taste buds. I also order pork and a mixed one both of which were very delicious, they were hot and fresh and i was in love lol I live no where near this neighborhood :(so I will have to find a closer Pupuseria but I’m telling you if I ever am back around here… this is my pupusa spot :)

Not impressed by the pupusas. I tried the chicharon, bean & cheese, and zucchini & cheese and didn’t care for any. I also tried the plantains, beans, and crema plate and wasn’t wowed by anything but the crema, but that doesn’t count, since it’s almost impossible to mess it up.

The pupusas were good. I’d never eaten pupusas with curtido before, but it was great. Had the bean and cheese pupusa, and it was good, even without meat. Cheap, too– $ 1.89/ea.

Was OK if you want a quick pupusa fix but not to enough to satisfy my craving. Not the worst but I’ve definitely has better, the curtido(pupusa topping) was orange never seen orange curtido. Oh and parking sucks it shares it with Like 5 other small places. If I’m here it’s because of king taco. Cash only so don’t forget to go to a bank near you or do like me and go into the mini mart to about 3 stores to the right of king taco.

stepped in after feasting at king taco… what better way to finish off a meal than to have pupusas? the service here is friendly. you wait a little for the food come to come out, but stuff like this takes time and care. there are TVs feeding fútbol to keep you entertained and a small shop section where you can buy trinkets and El Salvador videos, stickers, pictures, etc. I only ordered a pair of pupusas, which came filled with a generous amount of cheese, and loroco. These were tasty and not too heavy, even with my already-satisfied appetite. Resting at each table is a help-yourself jar of curtido which feels just right, decent spice, without too much of the fermented taste you get at some places. I think there is a special on certain days of the week for $ 1 pupusas, if I’m in the area during the week I’ll have to come by for that :]

I use to go there often, and loved their food, but one day, I went with my boyfriend, he ordered a soup, it was really salty, beyond eating point, and my rice was hard. I asked the waitress if the cook had changed or what, and she said«yes», but not only that, she was really rude and when I politly complained about the food she said«well nobody else has complained, just you two»! Last time I went there!

Located next to King Taco I often choose this place as it serves more than just meat dishes. Of course, it serves many Salvadorian dishes, including of course, pupusas. This is one of the good places to try it for the first time and experiment. Order as you wish: cheese, cheese and pork, beens, cheese and loroco. Add salsa and curtido and you are set, unless you like more spicy side of life, go for the red stuff in the jar. In addition to pupusas, this place has lots to choose from and the menu has English part as well, so go for it!!! Very friendly staff, home made food in the kitchen and chill vibe, usually accompanied with some soccer game on TV. MUSTTRY!

My friend Sam likes pupusas. He really likes them. Pupusas are these overlooked, but beautiful cousins of the taco. Although, Pupusa is not from Mexico, it, too, has a corn-based grain. I can liken it to the Korean pancakes I have at home. We passed by, saw the sign, and randomly ventured in. I had never eaten pupusas. Until La Casita. We ordered just a few of these pupusas. Just in case they did not taste as good as memory said, and if they did not, El Taurino was just around the corner. But they were good and we stayed– ordering a few more before leaving. I would recommend the fried pork skin as well as the bean and cheese pupusa. The pupusas are good because they have this authentic, corny, tortilla-like taste with a smoother texture. The sauce that comes with the pupusas is a must. Our Spanish-only-speaking waitress, Glenda, was kind and receptive. She took pictures for us. She told us the names of the side dishes. CURTIDO: the kimchi-like pickled vegetables. Slightly spicy and pickled. Goes well with the pupusas. CHILEENVINAGRE: This side dish is pungent and strong. But an adventurously good accoutrement. You should eat here.
