Update! Downgrade review. The chicken is not as good as it used to be. The portions got a bit smaller and the prices went up! WEORDEREDTHENACHOS! Great disappointment. They were sooooo simple, yet $ 8?! I would probably pay $ 3 for those. Not worth it at all! They were topped with nacho cheese, guac and few beans here and there. NEVERAGAIN

Super great service! They are very polite and accomodating to picky eaters. They are willing to customize just about every dish. They have parking… free parking! As for the food: — Try anything with shrimp — Horchata is a yes — All breakfast items are a yes

I’ve been coming here since it was moved to its current location. Their food has changed a lot and it doesn’t taste homemade anymore. I hate it when restaurants expand and become to common.

Worst delivery service and disgusting food. I’ve ordered from Rodeo a couple of time hoping for a difference in service and it NEVER gets any better. Most times we wait over 90mins. We’ve called to ask what the status is and every time they say«on its way» and it’s not. Yesterday was the worst off all experiences with the food. We ordered a carnitas burrito. It was literally a large slab of dry, overcooked, unsavory meat. It was like biting into rubber. The food I ordered, the carne asada with scrambled eggs, was burnt. Both food orders were cold, not lukewarm, cold. Worst delivery service, gross food, and shady customer service. Never again.

MEXICANFOOD! Not the best but I would say decent for the price you are paying if you’re looking for something quick! There is a nice security guard that greets you and opens the door for you! There is FREEPARKING!

This restaurant doesn’t meet the expectations of good quality food. The chicken was very industrial and the Tacos prepared without love. They try to sell you other things by telling you ‘do you want chips?’, and then it is suddenly + 6USD on your bill. They should say: do you want these very good chips for 6USD, it would be clearer…

Rodeo is a great place to go for a quick bite for el lunche. My colleagues and I swing by here once in a while when craving a quickie Mexican meal or soup. The way it works is you stand in line at the front, order at the counter where they hand you a number to place at your table and they bring your food tray to you once it’s ready. Simple as that. I especially like their beef or chicken soup. It’s clean, not oily like most places serve. Their whole fried fish is also pretty good and popular. They have an indoor/outdoor patio section which is kinda nice but can be a bit loud with blaring Latin music in the background blended in with traffic noise on Olympic Blvd. Overall, staff are very courteous and they keep the place clean.

I’ve been eating here for many years and although they have a good selection, their prices have gone up and up thru the years. They were, once upon a time, one of my favorite places for breakfast cus it was good quality food with good taste for a really good price. Now, I come mostly for lunch and just get the chicken plate cus it’s pretty good, good portion for the price but I wouldn’t say it’s an awesome deal.

Never again coming here. There was a piece of plastic bag in my rice. When I brought it to an employees attention he looked at me as if everything was fine and began explaining that they cooked the rice on plastic baggies. I told him that understood that but that the plastic didn’t belong in my plate, someone could choke on it as it was a decent size piece of plastic(approx. 1inX1in) I’m not the type to point things out like that in hopes of getting a free meal, I do it so the staff is aware of those things. Needles to say all I received was an excuse that the rice was cooked in plastic bags, not once was there an apology and only after the employee saw how irritated he made me did he offer to change my rice. I loved this place but this was a terrible experience. Never coming back here.

I had the veggie menu chile relleno omelette. Not too bad. Served with hash browns and toast, plus an avocado. I’m a big eater and only ate half minus the toast for $ 12. Be careful the price on menu may be different from quoted price. That is why I gave 2 stars instead of 3. When my friend confronted the cashier about the discrepancy they asked him if it was okay for them to charge more because failed to change their sign. That is so wrong. Food is good but practice is not okay. Word to my fellow Unilocalers, check your final price. Happy eating!

Breakfast… a 45 minute wait for chorizo and eggs plus bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes? Food came lukewarm to cold? And no bacon, they substituted more sausage for the bacon without even asking? Runny lukewarm eggs? & bad coffee? And they wouldn’t apply my Unilocal check-in discount two minutes after placing the order. Rodeo you let me down bigtime.

Always so yummy! although wait time sucks when you have a BIG party. Make sure to stay on their butts about serving your food in the order you came. The portions of food for the price is one of the reasons I love coming here when I am with a large appetite or when I want to save half of it for tomorrow’s lunch!

Low quality Mexican food. I’ll never order from here again. Ordered the carne asada with shrimp plate. At first bite, I thought that my food was flavorful, but with each bite, it got saltier and saltier. The shrimp was overcooked. My meat was super tough & had a blanket of tough ligament or something on one side. Ugh!!! Not palatable. Didn’t finish it. My expensive $ 13.99 meal wasn’t worth the price. My meal went abandoned…

Mexican rodeo grill is located on the corner of Olympic and westlake in Downtown Los Angeles near McArthur Park. A couple of blocks away from the only Curaçao in Down Town Los Angeles. The major big streets are olympic in between Union and Alvarado. Its a nice restaurant that gives an opportunity to costumers to choose from mexican food to sea food to hamburgeras. It is usally busy however the coastumer service is great. On average food takes about tweenty minutes for preparation. During my most recent visit, I ordered a cocktel de camarones and camarones al ajo. To drink they offer flavored water. For example Horchata The food is good for a decent date or a family day out. The place is decorated with wooden chairs and tables. One thing i loved is the restroom. The restroom is clean and well designed. The walls have marble as well as the sink. Another thing i liked was the price its not to expensive. A plate cost on average 8 – 12 dollars. Parking is free but there is valet parking which i believe is unnecessary. Although tbe service makes the restaurant seem a bit fancy.

Came here on a Sunday night because the the bf & our friend were craving ceviche. Our favorite go to spot for ceviche was unfortunately closed so we decided to drop by & try this place. We ordered the Carne Asada fries & the shrimp ceviche. We ordered and sat down at the table. They give you a number when you’re done ordering & the servers bring out the food to you. We waited about 10 – 15 minutes and the food came out. The ceviche was just okay in my opinion. It comes with shrimp, avocado(they ask if you want avocado) tomato, onions, cilantro, &lime juice on top of a tostada. I’ve definitely had better. It was lacking a lot of lime juice … :(just wasn’t enough. The fries were pretty good but not great. It was a bed of fries with carne asada, cheese and guac. There’s a salsa bar that is self serve. So we grabbed plenty of pico de gallo for it. Overall, the food was just okay. Service was good though and the servers were funny and nice.

Huge servings. Free parking(that’s a plus in DTLA). Reasonable prices. Was actually driving towards another breakfast spot when we saw this restaurant. Decided to come in for some comfort breakfast food. Breakfast selection was great. Today we opted for something simple: omelette, pancakes, and coffee = satisfying. Ample salsa bar with organized containers and lids. Clean! Lots of seating. Nice staff. They serve traditional Mexican lunch and dinner entrees also. You order at the counter as soon as you enter the restaurant and you are given a number to display on your table. A server will bring the food out to you. Pretty good spot. Wham bam, thank you ma’am… err I mean Señora!

Every time I’m in LA — I got to stop here for some delicious grub. This place is consistently good. Over the years, our favorites are ceviche, roasted chicken, enchiladas, the whole fish, and well, at that point I’m guessing EVERYTHING is good! Parking lot is small, but still workable. Otherwise, its totally casual — order at the counter and then the food is delivered to your table. Yum!
