Discovery: I was driving back from Culver City on Saturday morning and wanted my quick fill of Blue Bottles«Three Afrikans» drip coffee. As I was finding parking along Palmetto St. and Mateo, I saw a neat sign on the corner of my eye that said Shreebs Coffee. Something about that sign and the name made me abort my blue bottle mission and decided to go on a Shreebs mission instead. I definitely made the best decision for myself. Yay for discovering new coffee shops! Location/Parking: If you are heading south on Alameda, make a left onto Palmetto St. and when you reach Coyton St. look to your left and see a llttle shop in a small shipping container. Park along Palmetto St. or Coyton St. Ambiance/Décor: Very relaxing and away from everything besides some old looking warehouses. There’s an outside seating area that is beautiful to look at. Modern wooden benches with artificial turf. Sun might be beating on you! So try to find a seat under the outdoor umbrella. Service: What can I possibly say about Phil, the barista. He’s great and down to earth and also does audio engineering on the side He’s very knowledgeable and provided fast and friendly service. Drink of choice: Wanted to get the original cold brew, but decided to on the wild side and chose the horchata cold brew! It was beautiful and left a quenching and satisfying taste in my mouth. It wasn’t too sweet nor bitter… It was just right for my tastebuds. Yum-O! Plus, your drink purchase comes with a small little dunkable cookie! :) See you next time Shreebs!

Cute coffee spot in arts district! Loved the layout and pop up style! Coffee was a little bitter but still enjoyable. Will be back to try the horchata drink!

Aesthetically awesome area in the Arts District. Had the horchata drink(which I didn’t realize had coffee) and it wasn’t what I expected. It’s not as sweet as traditional horchata but still pretty good!

Really cute pop up close to downtown! I was battling a pretty monster sore throat and their Jamaica tea really hit the spot in terms of soothing, floral and sweet tea. The space is interesting, the barista works out of a converted shipping container, and the space resembles the mini parklets popping up around town. The barista seemed like a really chill, friendly dude, I always appreciate it when they make small talk and lil jokes. Good place to check out if blue bottle is looking a lil overcrowded. Will come back to try their coffee soon! Note: Since it is an outdoor deal, make sure it’s a day you don’t mind being outside, my friends and I were low key being clobbered by the sun.

This is a unique coffee place in the middle of the Art’s District. The shop is located on a corner plot of land in a storage unit. The seating area is all outside and made of turf grass and finished pallets. I got the salted dulce cold brew and my boyfriend got the horchata cold brew. They were both very unique and flavorful. Between the two, the horchata was my favorite. It has all the elements of horchata, but is combined with a smooth coffee finish. The salted dulce was different than any coffee I had tried before. You could taste all the spices and it was well-balanced. Both are excellent coffees and how much you like each really just depends on personal preference. The menu is small and they do not serve expresso drinks. I will be back again soon!

This place rocks! I’ve been there before, but I just went there today, SAturday, at around 12:30. I’ve been a resident in this area for about 7 years and this establishment and this place epitomizes what the foundation of what this area is about! A business that is passionate in creating a great product, friendly, Independent and almost the most important, unique! I talked to Ren,(I hope that I remember your name correctly?!), and she was extremely friendly! Being in Downtown, parking is always an issue, but for this place, there is no issue. Parking is easy and plentiful. As you walk towards this place, you notice that it’s in a storage bin! There is an outside patio with umbrellas for seating and that there are two other business along side this coffee place. I didn’t go to the other two places, I just focused my attention to Shreebs. There was immediate service and conversation. I didn’t feel like Ren was all business by just sell the coffee and move on to the next moment. We had a simple and friendly conversation and ordering coffee seemed secondary. Ren was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. I noticed, as she was making the coffee, that she made it all by hand. There weren’t any big machines or industrial process to create the coffee. It was made simply, perfectly, and it felt like I was at my friend’s house and my friend, Ren, was making me a Cup o’Joe i her kitchen! I could tell that she took care of making the coffee as I would when I make my own coffee. She definitely knew the science of their coffees. I will go back again! A few things that I might add: 1– Music 2– a simple food option 3– SWAG– I’d love to buy a Shreeb T-shirt!

Shreebs coffee, did you ever stop to think that maybe you’re addicted to me?! Seriously, you have issues. Your coffee loves me so much it won’t leave me alone. It wants to come over and hangout almost weekly. It caffeine drunk calls me late nights and I ask it,“Shreebs coffee, why are you so sad?” in which it sighs and replies…“I’m despresso when I’m not with you Alex.” There’s someone else. I know what you’re thinking, you like your men just like you… hot, strong and rich… but there’s someone else. It’s your roommate, Agua de Jamaica. She’s perfect in all her hibiscus-ness. Perhaps the best tea I’ve ever met, and she knows I have a thing for tea. She knows how I like it. I put her over ice… throw some oranges on her and finish by pouring syrup all over her. She’s perfect.

Cute new coffee shop in the Arts District! Highly recommended. Try the Salted Dulce – it’s delish! Now that these lovely ladies sell their beans, I can drink it at home and on the road. Shreebs kept me happy over the holidays while in the land of Safeway select vanilla coffee. Love it!

Shreebs Coffee, a quirky and always evolving coffee experience. I refuse to call them a coffee shop simply for the fact that they have popped up all over town with their roots starting out in a backyard in Venice, CA three years back. They continued to evolve through the years with pop-up shops in a laundromat, Culver City, and now the LA Arts District. Their setup is beautiful to say the least. They are serving coffee from a bright and colourful shipping container on the corner of Colyton and Palmetto Streets. I just love the vibe here! Simple menu and plenty of space for you, your friends, your dog, and your friends’ dogs to pass time while soaking up those sunny LA rays. Tried the Horchata Cold Brew and Salted Dulce and I was very pleased with both concoctions. The Horchata Cold Brew is truly one of a kind and their definite best seller. Their blend of rice, almond, oat, cinnamon, cane sugar, sea salt, olive oil, almond milk with the cold brew is genius. The horchata doesn’t come out overpowering, which is the reason I love it so much. The Salted Dulce is sort of the sassy cold brew cousin of the Horchata Cold Brew. My first sip literally made me say, «whoa» out loud. Black pepper, cardamom, cane sugar, and sea salt with 2% milk. Absolutely spectacular if I do say so myself. Fans of salted caramel cupcakes/ice cream/etc, this is the cold brew drink of your dreams. The drinks came with little complimentary cookies — perfect to nibble on in between sips of coffee. They also give out free treats to dogs, woohoo! Must try their Agua de Jamaica drink next time. So much to love about Shreebs Coffee. Bring your dogs, bring your friends.

Only in the Arts District. I have lived down here for over 25 years… yes when there was only Al’s Bar and Traction Café(any old-timers know ?) These eclectic little shops is what I find so appealing… making a little oasis patio in what used to be a palette company next to the DWP main station. The coffee is good. They do not have the fancy expresso drinks with a half shot of this and a pump of that, extra hot, with some soy milk froth. Well maybe that have some of these things, but I get the cold brew. The cold brews are refreshing and slightly sweet with no bitterness. You get a wonderful patio to sit down amongst the warehouses within the urban frontier. You also get a little«bonus» amuse bouche… a little cookie.

When I head downtown, I always try and stop by Shreebs to grab an horchata cold brew. I have been going to shreebs since the early days when they used to pop up on the West Side in Venice and then at HD Buttercup. This cup of coffee is fun, tasty, different, and really gets you going! Strong stuff, but that’s part of what it love about it. I also like to get their pour over and have them add their home made horchata as my «milk & sugar». It’s delicious that way! Seriously! The owners Ren and Casey are the best and do a great job of making you feel like you belong there and you are welcome as long as you like! I love going there and hanging out because inevitably you will meet someone awesome to talk to! Great place, great coffee!

For those of you looking to venture out of your coffee comfort zone without being restricted to a strict menu, Shreebs is a place for you. Some coffee shops can be intimidating with their expensive coffee contraptions and rules about how to consume coffee. You’ll find none of that here. Instead the owners have done a great job by offering coffee creations that are creative and different. The drinks are cold brew based if you want a cold drink and pour over based if you prefer your coffee hot. I tried the iced salted dulce, which was a mix of cold brew, cardamom, and black pepper. And I also got a few sips of an iced horchata latte. I preferred the salted dulce but will say that I think any average coffee drinker would enjoy the drinks offered here. I enjoyed the salted dulce because it still contained the intensity of the coffee without becoming too sweet. The horchata latte was slightly too sweet for my taste and also became sort of viscous with the addition of the horchata mix. It was almost too saturated with cinnamon powder, meaning that I got mouthfuls of a cinnamon-like solution with every sip. Overall, I’m a fan of what they’re doing at Shreebs Coffee. There aren’t plenty of shops taking this approach in making drinks. The space makes it feel like you’re hanging out a someone’s back yard. Especially since there is a small food truck serving piroshkis located adjacent to the business. So you’ve got coffee, food, and a place to chill. In addition, the owner was very sweet, so I’m glad to support a small business with humble beginnings.

I’ve visited Shreeb’s multiple times and try something new any chance I get. They’re always coming up with delicious coffee drinks. The iced horchata is so yummy. I love the cold brew with a dash of almond milk. And most recently I’ve tried the iced Dulce. It’s a tasty, sweet dream. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll be greeted with smiles and caffeine!

Coffee with a twist. Well can’t say much more than what a great business idea to start up a coffee shop. This shop is solely built straight from a cargo bin, yes like the ones you see in all ports. I had bookmarked this place to make sure I stopped by when in the neighborhood and finally got to visit. As you walk up you realize there isn’t much to the coffee shop. It’s tiny, yet have many cold brew coffee items to choose from. The 3 start review is due to the product itself. For me the coffee here wasn’t the best. They have great concepts and ideas but the coffee itself lacks freshness and balance. The coffee is dark roast and doesn’t taste fresh brewed. I mean the little seating area they have here was nice and comfy and it seemed to be a real slow day. There was plenty of parking around so didn’t have to worry about that. I will try and pay this place a visit again and try something different. The horchata coffee we got just didn’t mix well and he taste was real bitter.

I love finding new coffee shops especially some that are so creative as this one. This place is outdoors and they are in a small shipping container. Yes, you read right, in a shipping container! You don’t run into these a lot but it’s the Arts District which has pretty creative businesses in this area. Staff was super friendly and nice as soon as we got there. I ordered the Horchata latte because I absolutely love coffee and horchata and the fact that they put it together it just sounds amazing to me. I thought it was good but I wasn’t blown away. You can taste the horchata but I think I shouldn’t not had it with almond milk because it felt too watery for me. I would rate this place a 4 hands down if I would’ve loved my coffee. I want to come back again and try another one to see if I will love it or not. There is plenty of outside seating where you can enjoy the outdoors. I’ll definitely be back and would like to try all their other goodies.

The official grand opening is on 10÷10÷15, but it’s been soft opening for a few weeks now. I first heard about this place from a friend who lives in the Arts District who mentioned she saw it on her drive through the neighborhood. Then I forgot about it until another friend invited me to join her. Turns out Shreebs is a pop-up coffee shop for now. And they serve coffee out of a repurposed shipping container! The menu consists of pourover coffee, cold brew coffee, cold brew lattes and tea. Note that there are no espresso-based drinks. Because the lattes are made with cold brew and not espresso, the taste is definitely different. I had the HORCHATACOLDBREWLATTE, a cold brew with rice, almond, oat, cinnamon, cane sugar, sea salt, olive oil and almond milk. If you’re looking for a drink that tastes like horchata, this isn’t really it. It’s way too subtle. There’s a some outdoor picnic table style seating with umbrella covering so four-legged friends are welcome. You should be able to find free street parking.

No words can describe the ecstatic giddiness when I come across a new coffee shop! Taking a relaxing morning drive across the city, having just stopped by Blue Bottle for a cold brew, I was complete thrown off guard driving past a bright green ‘lawn’ with a trailer displaying a symbol(and interior setup) any coffee nut would instantly recognize as a coffee shop. My phone switched on, and the Unilocal search began! Needless to say, the next day, I made if my mission to try out this new coffeeshop! It’s probably the most hipster spot I’ve come across, reminiscent of my journeys through SF, visiting such establishments as Universal Café. It was a quiet morning, watched over by sunny and clear blue skies, and I was so happy to try out their coffee. I ordered their horchata cold brew latte, and was a fan by the first sip! Chilled and creamy, with a good amount of cinnamon, blending really well with the cold brewed coffee. I’m a fan, and am definitely returning for more!

Really enjoyed this place! Casey(one of the owners) was very nice and walked me through the menu. I ended up ordering the Horchata Cold Brew which was delicious! You don’t get an overpowering taste of horchata which is good because it reminds you that you are still drinking cold brew and not… actual horchata. However, the flavor is still very apparent in just the right proportions! Delicious! You even get a little cookie to eat with your coffee! Will definitely be stopping by here again! NOTE: They do not have espresso drinks!(Americanos, lattes, etc.) This is nice because they separate themselves from all the other coffee shops in the Arts District in this way(Blacktop, Blue Bottle etc.) Also, this place can get a little pricey but I think definitely worth a try. PARKING: Easy and FREE street parking everywhere!

Cute idea. Ok. I think some people may not be impressed with this little shop. It’s in a shipping container. On a corner in a bit of an industrial area. It’s not Urth Caffe. I’m giving the place 5 stars for a few reasons: I’ve lived in the Arts District for over 15 years. Small quirky spots like this are my idea of what the neighborhood should be. The people seem nice. I had an iced tea and it was good. They have a variety of teas that you can have iced. They have pastries/cookies from The Bread Lounge.
