Avoid this «too cool for school» hipster wannabe place. The haircuts suck, are overpriced and the guys are annoying. I’m a local who used to go there when no one did, now you show up 5 mins late and get turned away. Sorry guys, haircuts are a dime a dozen in this town. see ya

I have a bald head. Yet, Nick still was able to give me one of the freshest cuts I’ve ever had in my life (including when I had hair in my younger days). Also, the shave was flawless. You’re in good hands with this man. A+

Not only do I get the best haircut I’ve ever had at Svelte, but I also get to relax with some very fun and genuine guys. This place is truly a gem. From the cold beer (and many other libations) to the hot neck shave, this really is the ideal way to get yourself in style. The shop is clean and inviting, with plenty of good conversation with both the barbers and fellow customers. Before coming to Svelte, I never thought a trip to the barbershop could be the highlight of my day, but every time I come here, it is.

I don’t get my haircut (or my kids) here because I am too loyal to my current barber and she is great (review to come… just started with the Unilocal).
But yesterday I got another shave at Svelte. I’ve had a shave from both Nicky and David now and feel that all of the great comments about haircuts should be complimented with another great service Svelte offers.
I like getting shaves and hate shaving myself because I have sensitive skin and it just sucks to have to do it. I will wait as long as possible and then I must get shaved somewhere in order not to break out. So I have had multiple shaves at just about every known place in L.A. It’s been kind of like trying a certain dish at different restaurants to compare.
I won’t talk poorly about specific others but there are a lot of places that just don’t get it. Some spots are good but there are always issues (only one «shave» guy that is constantly booked, too expensive, hit or miss depending on who it is, some guys take too long, some guys are way too pretentious, etc.).
The guys at Svelte are my current favorites. Price is better than most spots for the service you get, it’s a clean and relaxing shave, always a cool vibe and atmosphere, and I really dig the simplicity and ease of the reservation system online. And as I keep returning, I feel more comfortable knowing where I would go in the off case my regular haircut spot is not available.

Had my first visit to Svelte. I was recommended to Nicky and the guy was nothing short of awesome. He’s friendly, funny, and knows how to clip a damn fine haircut. The store itself is comfortable/​clean and the aesthetic is genuine and makes you feel like someone from the Rat Pack might walk in for a buzz at any second. Thanks again, Nicky!

Where to begin!!! Well it all started when I was bumming around Hollywood couch surfing no job aside from a little smuggling out of Mexico when I was about to rob some dude on a motorbike, turns out to be nicky, well right when he was about stab me with his scissors, he was like «Yo bro, maybe I could help you out, maybe a hair cut could help!»
So reluctantly I agreed. IT WAS THE FINEST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE!!!
Now here is where I am bit confused, I felt a little tingle and then I felt kinda fucking amazing, I left that shop and I was flying on a cloud of titties! First thing I did when left, I jump kicked Vince Vaughn in the chest and yelled «Eagle kick! asshole clown!» It was just a reaction, I was physically magically changing. I made my way down to the bar and had a drink, with in four minutes the banging hot hostess quit her job to have a drink and I was like fuck yeah but really in a cool way then I finger banged her as she sat at my table. THIS HAIR CUT IS AMAZING!!! Later that night she brought over to her friends house to smoke some dabs and have a foursome with her two foreign friends, (p.s. They were super hot too, you can find them in those free lingerie porns they send your girl friend, I think it is call Vick’s secret panties or something like that!)
Anyway since this cut my life has been awesome, I am now a CEO of a major company and my only job to show up and be fucking awesome!

I’ve been going to Svelte for the past three haircuts and am very happy to have them in the neighborhood. The cuts are great, I like the way they look and they are good at translating what I say into a look that works for me. I’m a professional guy so I want to look professional, but I also don’t want to look like I got my haircut in an army barracks. The cuts are stylish and earn me compliments.
My last visit, I got a shave as well as a haircut and it was an amazing experience and without a doubt the best shave I’ve ever had.
The space is pretty cool, too. I’ve never had any trouble finding parking, the online booking system is simple to use. So overall, five stars. I love this place.

Great cut for a fair price. And they have beer! These guys have a passion for what they do, and have a great way of setting up appointments online. Definitely give them a try.

Nicky, Dan, and Dave are the bomb! I go to Nicky for cuts every time, always great service, great conversation, smiles all around.

Nicky never disappoints! He has two new guys and they are both just as fantastic as Nicky! Two my 5 year old son in again for a cut and Nicky was booked solid but one of his new guys was free. Awesome cut! So patient with my little man who hates getting his hair cut. Then, my 3 year old piped up that she wanted a cut too. One of the guys went to cosmetology school and had a no show so we had her hair done too. So great with my little wiggler! I just love these guys, all of them!

Nicky is hands down one of the best barbers in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is great and I’m always happy with my hair cuts. Worth every penny!

I don’t know if it’s been three of four cuts now from Nicky but I have been very happy each time. I get my hair cut fairly infrequently so it’s hard to keep track, but I do know my first cut had be at least sometime in December of 1014 because we were having some laughs speculating that the Patriots (Nicky’s team) might meet up with the Seahawks (my team) in the Superbowl. And yep, that’s how shit went down. And by down, I mean my team lost.
I do recall my next cut sometime in late February or early March because it would have been shortly after the big game. We patched things up right away and it’s been good ever since. LOL! Sports will never come between a good barber and me.
Look, the cuts are great. NIcky always asks how you want it done follows up to make sure it’s right. Small gestures like this go along way; you can tell he cares. He takes pride in his work and I’m worry-​free when I step in the door because I know everything is going to be just right.

After walking past it everyday for a year I finally was too lazy to go to the stylist and gave it a try. So glad I did. Now I feel Really lucky this is walking distance to my place. Nicky is a good dude and a great barber. Got my combover lookin clean!

Svelte by name and svelte by nature. Just moved into the neighbourhood and was looking for a decent barber… Strolled into Svelte be greeted with a whiskey, good banter and a damn sharp hair cut. Winner!

Finally, a good old-​school barber in Hollywood. Here’s hoping Nicky makes this place home for a long time.
Note: Parking is sparse, though not impossible. If walking is an option for you, take it.

Second time in since they’ve opened… experience was better than the last. Hot towel shave after Timmy cleaned me up for my upcoming trip. Got to say these barbers know what they’re doing. Btw, they got beers!
