Have been there a lot, including take out. Food is good, healthy and mildly expensive — worth it. Staff always courteous and dog friendly outside tables.

Somewhat limited menu for the non-meaty type, but still tasty with a fun vibe. It’s a place I just like to be in. Will be coming back for more and rooting around the menu for some new surprises.

What is this, an omelette on its own, on an empty plate with no side dish or garnish, and the plate itself is chipped? If I pay a higher amount($ 12) for an $ 8 omelette, I expect the dish to at least be plated properly. I brought this to the front counter to discuss, because it’s so outrageous to be doing this in Los Angeles that someone must bring it to their attention, and the staff told me, «We used to throw out so much greens since it wasn’t being eaten, that we stopped. You can still request the salad at no charge.» That’s fine, and I understand not wanting the waste. But to serve an omelette on its own, no side of potatoes or garnish or a piece of bread even, and demand this price point, is utterly shocking. Going downhill fast, Sweetsalt. Used to be one of my favorites. Care a little bit, please?

Cute place. Fast service and yummy Salmon salad. Street parking was okay for a Sunday afternoon. Had the popular salted caramel brownie. It was mediocre at best. Staff was very friendly.

The food is good, but my 2 star review is only for the person named Cassie who i just got off the phone with. I called because I was curious about their dessert menu. If they had a dessert menu i obviously wouldn’t have called. Anyway, I get that they make their desserts based on the ingredients they have at the time, but don’t get annoyed when a person is calling to ask what you have that specific day. My coworkers and I would go here all the time, I guess not anymore.

Date of service: May 15, 2015 Meal: Lunch, dine in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 8 Food to Spend Value: 7 Quality of Service: 7 Overall Rating: 7 Burbank has lots of spots to hit for lunch. One place I have found myself being a repeat lunch customer for was Sweet Salt, which technically is barely outside of Burbank and in LA in the Toluca Lake neighborhood. I was meeting a coworker and she had never been before, so I suggested that we meet here for lunch. Sweet Salt, at least at lunch time, is known for their variety of artisan style sandwiches(I hear they are a bit«fancier» at dinner, but I cannot attest to that since I have only gone for lunch). I always have trouble deciding on what to get, but this day the chorizo and manchego cheese sandwich jumped off the menu, so I went with that. The sandwich itself was excellent. The quality of the sausage and cheese was super high and exuded flavor, the onions and roasted peppers were quite robust, and the ciabatta bread really closed the deal and made for an amazing package. It came with a very simple green salad on the side, but this complemented the meal nicely. Overall it was a fantastic lunch that was tasty and not too heavy. Like many café style places, you order at the register when you walk in and then find a table, and they bring your food when it is ready(which is usually pretty quickly!). The sandwiches at Sweet Salt are a bit pricier than some other options in the area, but the ingredients feel fresher and taste better in my opinion, so I don’t feel like they are overpriced. The portion size is just right, and I left satisfied. My coworker also really enjoyed her sandwich and said she would be back. If you are looking for a sandwich spot that does things a bit differently but results in a really fantastic sandwich, then you should check out Sweet Salt.

Went for lunch with a friend the steak sandwich was not that great the meat was hard and not chewable. I love the chicken truffle sandwich which was good But, for me the best part of lunch was the creamy cauliflower soup! Yummy. Even though it’s a situation where you just sit wherever you want there were no tables for party at two I asked nicely to the man behind the cash register with the man bun! Ugh said we could not sit in a section that holds 4 people and it was freezing outside and the place was packed and we wouldn’t go back after that he was totally rude.

Ok place for lunch or a snack, but I found their sandwiches to be mediocre, with lots of calories and fat. Went for a late lunch with friends and had the chicken truffle sandwich. It lacked truffle flavor and was quite greasy. After that, I passed on dessert. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

LOVE the venue. A bit hidden, with a country chic charm. Very similar to the vibe at Olive & Thyme, but smaller. The menu is filled with seemingly fantastic selections, and I was excited about a few items. Ultimately went with the Short Rib sandwhich(short ribs, grilled onions, argula, garlic spread on brioche bun) with a small cup of the spicy tomato soup. I couldn’t wait to bite into my sandwich, as it looked amazing, juicy, and messy in a way that you know its going to be delicious. Sadly, I was dissapointed. The short ribs were more like brisket. I mean it literally fell apart with each bite like brisket. I find it annoying that they called this short ribs… Also, I barely tasted the garlic spread. And it was insanely messy to eat! I finished about 2⁄3 of my sandwich and tossed out the rest. While I gave this place 4 stars, this particular sandwich really only deserves 2 stars. I’m haven’t given up just yet though… as I mentioned there were a few items on the menu that triggered the taste buds so I’ll have to go back to try those. Like the Champagne Chicken Sandwich, or the Persimmon BLT. Great spot for lunch with coworkers/friends, even a great place to take clients as its quiet and classy.

I had brunch here the other day with my homegirl. Even though the food is average, the location is great for catching up with a friend. The noise volume wasn’t too loud. I tried their breakfast burrito and my friend had the walnut, pear, goat cheese, pomegranate salad. Hers was tastier than mine. Plenty of parking in the area too. Us Westsiders are definitely not used to that.

I ordered the kale salad with double steak and requested no pine nuts or dried cranberries. I got a kale salad with pine nuts and dried cranberries with no steak. The pine nuts are mixed into the wild rice that comes with the salad — that’s fine. The cranberries are apparently mixed into the rice as well though that was never mentioned. When I brought that up I was essentially told I misheard her. You can mix whatever into the rice, but saying I misheard her is just poor server etiquette. Also, missing the protein in my order which costs more than half the salad itself is just poor service. The salad was also disgusting.

Cool, hip spot with healthy sandwiches & salads. People watching is great, parking can be tricky. I had the grilled chicken panini, it was ok.

Went here today for lunch and had a very nice experience. First of all Tyreek(I think that’s how you spell it) was THE nicest guy ever… every restaurant should be so lucky to have someone like him at the front. I was having a hard time deciding what to order and I asked him about the Lavender Duck Confit. He explained to me that when they were conceptualizing the restaurant, this was their signature item. It was special. I was sold. BUT I didn’t want bread. No prob. He suggested I get it on a bed of arugula. Done. You can also customize a salad which is what my friend did. She got mixed greens with cucumber, avocado and salmon. Looked good. We took our # and sat down at a table against the back wall, admired the cute décor and had a nice time people watching. Food came and my salad was really good. I was expecting a little more of the lavender flavor. But it was fine. The goat cheese and honey came on the side and I appreciated that because I think it may have been too rich for me otherwise. I enjoyed the salad but will def try something new next time. For dessert I had to have a rose macaroon(to go) and I got the olive oil cake with Raspberries and Rosemary. My friend ordered a slice of the caramel pumpkin cake. I had a bite, it was nice but I liked mine more… SOGOOD! Not too sweet which I loved. Tyreek said this is his fave. Tyreek can be trusted.

Tonight we had our first meal at Sweetsalt. From start to finish we were really happy we finally made it over to Toluca Lake to give it a try. We wanted a healthier starter, so we opted to share the pear & pomegranate salad. It was perfectly balanced with the creaminess of the goat cheese, the bitterness of the arugula, and the sweetness of the fruit. Basically, just perfect. For our entrees, we had the mushroom pasta and the pan seared chicken. The pasta was the perfect density and wasn’t swimming in sauce; very well balanced. The artichoke caponata on the chicken caught us off guard because we weren’t expecting it to be tomato based. We got past our initial surprise and thoroughly enjoyed both entries. We finished off by taking some fresh macaroons home for dessert. Throughout our meal, our server(Lulu, on the receipt) was exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu, helped us make the right decisions, and was attentive without being disruptive.

Super cute café style spot. We stopped in for breakfast and loved everything about it. I got the breakfast sandwich and my husband got the breakfast burrito, both were delicious and we will definitely be back for dinner!

I really enjoyed my lunch at Sweetsalt today! Along with Olive and Thyme, it is one of my favorite places to get lunch while at work in the Burbank area. The atmosphere is really cute. I sat outside at one of the community tables which was perfect on a nice summer day in LA. I got the chicken lettuce cups per the recommendation of the cashier and they did not disappoint! There were three chicken lettuce cups with cheese and corn inside, as well as alfalfa sprouts on top. I ordered them without the bacon, but I’m sure this would make them even more delicious! My only complaint is that they were a little dry, but I liked them because the lunch overall did not feel heavy and was the perfect option for a healthy but tasty lunch. All of the other menu items looked delicious — a guy sitting next to me had some kind of Sriracha — something flavored soup that looked amazing and he said was great. The other salads looked really yummy and I can’t wait to try them next time! I will definitely be back soon.

From my experience I don’t think this place is worth it for what you get. Pricey, hipster place for food that is only okay. I definitely did not have to rave about the food. The place itself is small, crowded, and very loud. All I had was a grilled cheese with bacon, tomato soup, and a salad. The grilled cheese was fine, but you can find better(and cheaper) at The Melt. Too greasy. The tomato soup was quite horrible. There was no basil to it, it was pretty much just all tomato — interesting flavor. The salad was pretty plain. Parking was also such a pain. You pretty much just have to park in the neighborhoods behind the restaurant and walk to the restaurant. I don’t recommend eating here.

What’s a matter with the clothes I’m wearing I can tell that they’re out of style I’m sitting next to many young rich hipsters And my food’s taking quite a while While trying to get some silverware and some water It’s cramped and people pushing in their chairs for them is such a bother With the sandwiches and salads and the sweets and the set-up It’s a trendy Corner Bakery to me! What’s a matter with the food I’m eating Pretty good, but not for the price Got myself a pesto chicken Panini Chicken moist and pesto nice A green side salad with their tasty house-made dressing I don’t know if it’s their champagne blend, but that’s only what I’m guessing With the sandwiches and salads and the sweets and the set-up It’s a trendy Corner Bakery to me! I got an apple tart and a huge chocolate chip cookie And I tried them both later that day They were good but it was still kinda pricey And I’ve had better for much cheaper I must say… The Brussels sprouts tasted a bit soggy They were salty and had not other flavors much I wish that I had gotten another side My dreams of a great lunch were crushed Ooohhhh…

Very cute café in Toluca Lake! My boyfriend recommended this place for us to try for brunch/lunch one day and I loved it! This restaurant is owned by former Top Chef contestant Alex Eusebio. They have a small patio outside and plenty of tables and booths inside. Great place for families, dates, catch up girl talks, or just reading the paper or a good book solo. They have a coffee drink menu, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Drinks: –Bundaberg drinks — Ginger Beer! So good. And what… they have a Peach drink?! –Iced Tea — Freshly brewed iced black tea. It’s in a glass drink dispenser located in front of the kitchen. Self-served with free refills! Sandwiches: $ 10 – 12 per entrée –Chicken & Mushroom: Tasty! I got lucky that day and since they ran out of ciabatta bread, I got mine on a croissant! It was made out of grilled chicken, gruyère cheese, wild mushroom, aioli, fresh herbs, tomato on ciabatta. –Shrimp Po’boy: Very good! I enjoyed the flavor of the shrimp and the sauce. It was made out of cajun seasoned shrimp, chimichurri, crumbled chips, spicy aioli, lettuce, tomato on ciabatta. Desserts: –Nutella Crunch Macaron — SOGOOD! I loved the nutella flavor. The cookie was nicely firm and had a slight crunch. The filling was creamy and chocolatey. –Salted Caramel Brownie — YUMMY! The cashier recommended this dessert when I told her I wanted something chocolatey and it did not disappoint. The brownie was nice and fudgy. The caramel added a nice layer of sweetness to it. Great choice for chocolate/brownie lovers! Parking: There’s a small lot in the back or you can try to find residential parking. Overall, I would come back when I want to get a sandwich/salad and some dessert!

This place doesn’t look like the kind that opens for dinner! It looks like a bakery café, and I find it really cute. I“d like to check it out during the day sometime. Find the branding of this place to be simple and charming – the place-mat and the menus… nice. Some friends I came here on a Monday night. Here’s what I had. Mind you my boyfriend and I would switch meals back and forth. I don’t eat THAT much now! :P SWEETSALTBURGER — $ 15 wagyu chuck-short rib-bacon house blend /gruyère /caramelized onions /garlic aioli /sundried tomato jam /mixed greens This comes with potato chips! I don’t think they are house made but I love chips so its fine with me. This burger is HUGE. The beef patty is super thick and I found it difficult to eat with my hands… I used a fork and knife. This juicy burger was filled with flavors thanks to all the ingredients! It just al came together wonderfully. My only complaint were the caramelized onions because it tasted kind of pickly. But its fine since its drowned in that amazing burger! BRAISEDPORK — $ 20 braised pulled pork /corn polenta /blistered tomatoes /shallots I wish I didnt eat he burger first because when we switched meals this tasted bland. I know it isn’t bland! It was good though, dont get me wrong! The pulled pork was tender, I enjoyed the creamy polenta… there were figs and what I think is a chile relleno that came with the blistered tomatoes. Overall I“m sure I would have enjoyed this dish more by itself. I think the burger is better… then again I love burgers. I can eat it everyday and THIS was a great burger that’s cheaper than most meals. I’d love to come back for the duck confit. I didnt get it this time because my boyfriend can’t stand flower flavors in food… pfffffttt…
