Friends and I searched the place on Unilocal and it said it was open but when we got there the doors were closed and locked and curtains down. We asked a few people who work in the area and they said that they haven’t seen anyone there for a while. They may have shut down.

I just happened to stumble upon this place when I was visiting my friends in LA, but I’m glad I did! I ended up going there 2 nights in a row. They had good drink specials and a solid draft beer selection. There was also live music on Sunday night. The bartender there both nights, Kat, was very nice and friendly and professional, and I really enjoyed talking to her. I also got to talk to several other people just hanging at the bar. I had a very memorable trip in LA this year and the 9 on Vine helped play a large part of it!

i went here on a sunday night to see some live music and catch up with friends. the venue isn’t in the best area to be walking around at night BUT there is a parking lot connected to it because it’s part of a shopping plaza. the venue is very small but that makes for a really cool intimate venue for music. the bartender was attentive and the drinks were reasonable.($ 3 wells on sundays!) i’ll be back to dance right in front of the stage again!

Located on the ground level of a 2-story shopping plaza off Fountain & Vine. I came in for Happy Hour. There were a decent amount of items to choose from, which was nice. A lot of places give you 3 to 4 options during Happy Hour. Happy Hour: $ 4 Starters & Bites until 8 p.m. $ 4 well drinks and drafts. I ordered two Vodka & Cranberry’s and an order of chicken tacos. Both were good. At night they offer live music and, according to the bartender, it brings in a good crowd. Know that the music is more on the side of a loud live band rather than jazz and that it does get pretty loud in here.

The Paloma was undrinkable, and I drink like a fish. The steak tacos were inedible, and I eat like an American. Avoid unless you like throwing away money on horribleness.

Bad food. If you just come here to get drinks its fine, but the food does not taste good nor is it satisfying at all. They also have ribs on their menu, but they do not even serve ribs(and that was the main reason I came to the restaurant).I ordered the steak with mash potatoes. The steak was so difficult to chew. The meat was just tough. I would not come back here,

Came here on a Wednesday night around 7:30 for dinner and a drink. We were intrigued by the happy hour specials online but when we showed up the deals were very different from those advertised. The deal they were offering was $ 5/shock top but online it had said there were deals for all drafts and also wine. Luckily the waitress checked with the manager and was able to honor the $ 3/wine deal we saw online. She said it had recently been changed. The wine size-wise and also quality wise was definitely a $ 3 value. For dinner I had the burger, which was pretty good and they were happy to honor my «salad instead of fries» request. My girlfriends both ordered appetizers which looked good but were fairly small in size for the price. The bar is located inside a strip mall so there is plenty of parking and once inside it does not feel like you are in a strip mall at all. We were also some of the only people there, and most of the other customers seemed to be friends of the staff. As we were leaving they were setting up for live music which I think would have really changed the vibe for the better. If we come back I’ll be sure to come on the later side, I think it probably is a much different place after 9pm.

I have waited years for The M Bar to shut down as it was an incredible waste of space and matter. This new joint is much more appropriate, better seating arrangements, a real small concert venue, and an extensive food menu. I built my own pizza with Bacon and Pepperoni. The Pepperoni is of the Italian flair with an American look. Light and filling. They need to update their menus to reflect items they no longer carry. I was dying to try their BBQ Ribs, and they no longer carry it. They also seem to have a limited supply of food as I was told I was ordering their very last pizza. Pheeew. The bartenders were friendly and accomodating, not your regular joes. Will return. Bring the ribs back.

Quick stop for a birthday party bar crawl. THEAMBIANCE: I liked The 9 on Vine because they had live music the night we were there(last Saturday). The guys on stage were really good. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them play. The venue was dark and lightly lit, there is a bar on your right, high top table seating in the middle, and booths on your left. I did not visit the bathroom so I can’t comment on its cleanliness. I had a beer and no complaints. THETIPS: I saw they have a parking lot but I am not sure if it is valet. We parked in a neighborhood down the street and walked. That might be your best bet. They also have a small patio area in the front. I would visit again.

Dearest Unilocalers, Many of you know me from La Poubelle, Moonshadows or, maybe, Neptune’s Net, but the fact of the matter is that we keep finding ourself in the same place(s). Here’s the thing: we all have our personal preferences. I get that– really. Some of us want karaōke, underground, avant garde, progressive, posh, hook-ups– regardless, we want what we like. 9 on Vine is something totally different, and you know it as soon as you walk in the door. Where else can the crowd request a band and have them show up less than a month later? I shit you not! That personable service is like none other, unless you’re referring to the graveyard formerly known as Drai’s! This place is set up like a restaurant between 4&7, but quickly becomes a couples bar from 7&9, then it transforms into a fuckin’ live music werewolf-of-a-venue until close. Do it. Just come. You and your lover/friends/both…ew…will love it. Easy to appreciate, this Hollywood landmark will give you a good time. PS– they have karaōke on Tuesdays and serve a full menu until 2:30 every night of the week. Get here.

This new bar is without a doubt going to be a hit! Drinks are so affordable yet still very good top shelf drinks! Food is amazing! From hot wings, Mac and cheese, risotto mozzarella balls, the 9 burger. Give this place a try and you will keep coming back. Service is excellent. Parking is heavenly for Hollywood. Nothing bad about this place, only great things!

Came here with a living social deal and ordered the pizza and hot wings. The food was not very good. Pizza was soggy and like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. Hot wings were ok. The dipping sauce was watered down and just laughable. Ordered one of their special drinks and it was good. I got the Johnny Walker drink. The female bartender was friendly and doing a pretty good job. The parking situation was/is easier in this part of hollywood so that helps. There is a lot and metered parking spaces usually available. I came on a Tuesday night so Friday and Saturday may be different. Also happy hour may be different as well. The venue sucks because there is a big door and large windows everywhere making it cold inside but it won’t be a problem on hot summer days. All in all probably a 2.5 star rating

Had an asshole bartender at Sassafras who served an impressively weak Hurricane. Came here and had a SUPER nice bartender who made our drinks nice and strong, per our request! Not to mention the great coupons for checking in on Unilocal. I’ll definitely be coming back here again.

This is not at all what I expected. Had the Living Social deal for $ 30 for $ 15… website showed sort of a sophisticated looking speakeasy vibe. I was expecting your typical Hollywood club/bar. Instead this strip mall place is more typical college bar circa 1992. We were first seated at a booth, but it was right near the large door but more concerning, there was carpet under our feet and she felt like something was biting her — yes, like maybe fleas. We moved. We ordered drinks but our server seemed to be in a hurry to get us to order food. The place wasn’t crowded so it’s possible she was just bored to death. We started with the Risotto Mushroom Balls after learning they were out of the Coconut Curry Balls. The Risotto balls were terrible, tasting not of mushroom but of the freezer they came from. Really bad. Next up was the Margarita Pizza. Also terrible. Just inedible really. Also clearly not freshly made and from a freezer. There was a comedy show that night. We didn’t plan to stay but we did stay for a bit because frankly the place was so empty we felt bad walking out on the comedians. The first guy was insulting to women, southerners and the disabled. So we didn’t really think he was funny. The next woman was actually witty but by that time we needed to leave because we were hungry and needed to get some good food. Our drinks BTW were not bad… we both had one of their specialty cocktails, the Stoli Doli and they were $ 5, which is a pretty darn good deal in any part of town. So that’s where the two stars comes in. Also the friendly(if a bit eager) service. This is not a bad place to grab a drink, although I will say we were freezing cold all night — this is one room fronted by a very large door and lots of big windows. If it’s cold outside, it will be cold in here. Wouldn’t come back, especially if I was hungry.

This is brilliant. I love this bar and the people here. Everyone is chill and fun and well, awesome. Great food, cocktails that focus on deliciousness over flash and a menu that’s tasty and varied. So happy to have this bar, managed by the cool and hilarious Blerim in Hollywood.

Alright so first off, everyone working here is laid back and awesome. It’s got an impressive interior and live entertainment, but at the same time everyone from the staff to the customers are chilled out. Happy hour prices are awesomely cheap for hollywood and they’re generous when they pour. Hell, even the wells are pretty decent. Non of that cheap crap most bars use. $ 2 bud lights and $ 3 wells? Yes please! Also, the food is top notch for it’s price. It doesn’t get too busy early on which can be a good thing if you want a quiet hangout with friends and light music in the background.

I never write reviews and yesterday I was in the neighborhood so I stopped by what used to be the mbar… now I guess changed ownership and name to 9 on vine. I was completely blown away by the raggae band on sunday. Probably the best I have ever heard. I don’t know if it was part of their band or if this James Brown looking guy was just eating at the place, but he ended up getting on stage too. I wasn’t going to eat, because this place wasn’t known for its food. Mostly fried bar food and tacos. The waitress urged us to try the food and said if I don’t like it, she would buy us a stiff drink to was away the taste lol. I had a friend with me so just to be cordial, we ordered 2 appetizers, the hot wings and she ordered the mac and cheese. Omg, this was not your typical bar food. Actually, I can’t even compare it to anything because it was not prepared like anywhere else that I have tried these at. It was so tasty, that we decided to order a meal. I had the burger and she had the flank steak. Both cooked to perfection tender and juicy. The only thing I would say they need improvement on is the signature drink menu which didn’t really have anything on there that stood out and the my female friend was interested in ordering. Overall I would say the food and the band were amazing. The venue is completely remodeled with an urban feel, and if they have live entertainment like this everynight… this will be a place I will frequent even when I’m not just passing through.

Wow. Live piano? Stand up comedy with NOCOVER charge? Having fun at this place was easier than getting a parking ticket! and… $ 5 on tap beer specials that include a shot?! WHAT?! Thanks to Brain Swineheart’s organization skills, I fell in love with this place. Thanks to the female stand up comedian I saw on stage one night as I drove by, along with the open door policy, I was able to HEARAWESOMECOMEDY as I was nearby in my car. I heard people laughing inside and dropped what I was doing to go and be a part of it. This place rocks. The fries were a little too crunchy for me, but my friend ordered them, not me. The food is spectacular and the place is nice, new and clean. Let’s keep it that way. INSIDEVIEWOFTHEPLACE — Namaste… suckas!

I can only assume the ratings for this bar are by friends of the owner/staff. Whilst I appreciate that it has only been open for a few weeks our first impression was pretty awful. Went in there on a Thursday night at about 7:45 and were the only people in there. I had the worst old fashioned I’ve ever had which was shaken, had seltzer water added at the end and some disgusted cherries in it. Only saving grace was the barman making an effort and my GF cocktail was decent enough. Most of my Unilocal reviews are positive but this place really needs to improve things when it’s up against the competition.

We spent on of very precious Saturday nights out at a new club/lounge call 9 on Vine! We started off with a round of drinks, which were made to perfection, minus the attitude most Hollywood clubs«serve». We then decided since we are already liking this new place let’s order some food! We were pleasantly surprised to find a smörgåsbord of appetizers that were brought out us! Each single morsel that hits your mouth reverberates through your soul! It’s not your typical food you’ll find anywhere else. To top off our experience, the music the DJ played all night had everywhere in an upbeat lively mood! We couldn’t stop dancing all night! Seriously LOVE this place and we will definitely be spending many more of our nights out at The 9 On Vine!
