This is my new favorite bar! Great happy hour, awesome servers and bartenders, food is on point and love the atmosphere. This local bistro is one of a kind!

My friends and I were looking for a new place for Sunday brunch when we found this place on Unilocal.I called to make a reservation thinking they would be busy because it was a Sunday. The gentlemen on the phone was very helpful & I was able to get a reservation no problem! When we got there it wasn’t that busy but he reserved us the best seat in the house a four top right on the patio. The service was great and the food was good too! They had bottomless mimosas for 15 $ or single they were $ 4 each. My boyfriend got a Bloody Mary which was $ 7 he said it was good just a bit to spicy. They had a great menu, wide range of things. For brunch I had the Crab Cake Benedict, it was average; my poached eggs were over done but still enjoyed it. This is a very laid back place somewhere you can go and hang out for awhile drinking, eating and people watching. Recommend giving this a place a shot.

This place has happy hour 7 days a week. The drink choices and food choices offer something for everyone. We especially liked the roasted cauliflower, roasted Brussels sprouts, the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and my favorite were the crab cakes. You won’t be disappointed.

Came here for HH on a Sunday with a group of 8 friends. The place was small so I don’t recommend large groups, but our server was fantastic. He was able to accommodate us and push together the back tables, provided solid recommendations for tapas, and regularly checked in with us. We ordered: Steamed mussels — definitely a must Fish tacos — very good, fish was crispy and perfectly fried(not soggy from too much oil) Lamb lollipops — very good fun-sized tapas, you got your lamb fix without having to order a huge lamb entrée Risotto — surprisingly bland, least favorite dish of the night Overall, good tapas + great service = very good first experience. Will be coming back.

Decent enough but in need of differentiation. I went for Sunday brunch, so I can only comment on that menu, but it seemed pretty ordinary. No beer on tap? Minus one star. I had a Bloody Mary(meh) and huevos rancheros. Delicious by nature so not much room to mess it up. Bonus quesadilla on the plate was welcome but odd. Ambiance is trendy and modern but not very unique. Friendly and quick service. I’d give it another shot for dinner menu, but I’m not chomping at the bit to return.

My review is based on the customer service — if you can call it that. We ended up not eating here as the menu had changed and they were out of quite a few dishes. The«server» seemed very put out that he had to stand by momentarily while we revisited the menu to play the guessing game — «Do you have this?» — rather than simply advise what they were out of that evening. He was clearly annoyed at having to work judging by his facial expression, body language and his preoccupation with gazing out the window while we dared to take another second to consider the meager offerings still available. In the end, we decided that this place, thanks to their rude staffer, did not want, need or deserve our money/patronage. So, we went to the Humble Potato instead, OD’d on courtesy and friendly service and tasty food. Detour Bistro Bar — take a hike. Humble Potato — awesome!

After watching the movie«burnt» we were craving some nice tapa style food. So we found this place on Unilocal that had tapa style food as happy hour! We got the califlower, shrimp taco, pork chops and the mussels. It really hit our«burnt» the movie crave. We’re coming back on another day when we have more time and when we can drink! We came during a lunch break and it was so windy!

Loved this place! Happy hour EVERYDAY from 3 – 7! Great wine, great food AND great service! Vibe is very welcoming & friendly. Patio seating is nice for those sunny days or warm nights. Staff was helpful all around, no matter who we spoke to they were all friendly & attentive. I will definitely be back & soooo looking forward to trying their brunch this weekend! :-)

Had brunch for the first time at this place. Went in late afternoon on a Sunday so it wasn’t as busy. They had both outdoor and indoor sitting. Host seated me pretty quick, the rest of my party hadn’t gotten there yet. I asked for a water, but waited a bit for waitress to come back. Once my friends got there five minutes later other waiter came by to ask if we wanted drinks. I said I had already ordered water but was still waiting on it. I ordered the Cali omelet with a side of Apple wood bacon. Orders came pretty quick afterwards. I was hoping portions were larger, and the toast is charged separately. They do have bottomless mimosas, but you can split cost amongst group

Ordered the crab cake eggs benny — it was fantastic! The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. Good match with the crab cake and a nice change from having smoke salmon with my eggs. Service was prompt and quick, and the place was not crowded. Parking was easy and the neighborhood was quiet. Good place for a slow brunch, will be back!

I came here with my beautiful wife for a weeknight date night. Not very busy which we appreciated, received very attentive service. Ordered the roasted cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Cauliflower has a curry seasoning and garlic aioli to dip it in. SO delicious! The brussel sprouts were good, but the goat cheese was too minimal, the texture too soft, & a bit sweet. Some walnuts could be a nice addition. Had the churro for dessert. I would liken it to snickerdoodle cookie cubes with a choc liqueur malt sauce & vanilla ice cream. Delicious, but needed at least double the ice cream. will come again, great ambiance!

Fantastic. No lines for a fantastic Breakfast/Brunch in the Mar Vista area, but that won’t last with the quality food being served. There are plenty of tables and even a cozy bar to chat with the locals over your eggs, home style potatoes, Crab Cakes Benedict, maybe a mimosa? Go now before you have to wait in line for a breakfast/brunch. Dinners are delicious as well. Located between Corner Bar and ChocoVivo, great company. Check it out.

I want to say this place is fairly new on the block? I hadn’t really noticed it before, but I went yesterday for their happy hour. The cocktails are $ 8 a pop. The food isn’t really discounted much. It’s actually quite expensive for a happy hour. I tried the Honey Old-Fashioned which was DELISH. I think that drink alone would make me go back. My friend had the lamb lollipops and she said they were decent. I had the beef sliders which were good. They should reconsider that pickle on top of the bun though. If you’re catching up with a friend, it might get a little soggy. Our bartender was great. If you are looking for a place that is really quiet for HH, this is your place without a doubt. We had the whole place to ourselves :).

Stopped by this place for a quick lunch a while back. For a minute I thought it was closed since they had no one inside. The food here was ok, I had their chicken salad and came out fresh and tasty. Nothing over the top being it was just a salad. The location has outside and inside seating. Has a bit of a afternoon game watching bar. Large section and full bar with May high tables and a few TVs inside. The staff here was pretty helpful although with it being mostly just me(eventually a few other people did walk in) I wasn’t that hard to wait on me. I would definitely recommend if your stopping by for a quick bite. Nothing really bad about the place but everything was pretty average overall. Parking is difficult around here but meter parkings are available.

Pretty good restaurant and bar. I had the cuban sandwich and that was actually pretty good and they give you a lot. My hubby had the lox and he thought it was okay(not the best), I tried it and agree. The atmosphere is very chill and great place to come and have some drinks, especially in the outdoor seating.

My friend found this place at random… little did I know there was this place in a row of restaurants(A Frame, Waterloo which is now closed, etc.). This place is a fun happy hour place that is crowded but not loud. Thankfully!!! The head chef took care of us during the entire time we were here… and was wonderful! We ordered the cab sauvignon off the menu(ended up purchasing a bottle actually) and a ton of awesome items: — crab cakes(yum!) — shrimp tacos(different from other places. more sweet but very fresh. yum!) — lamb and hummus with pita(it was okay. not my favorite) — this toast with tomatoes and proscieutto(yum!) — Philly cheese flat bread(I know they thinly slice their own and make their own sauce. I actually didn’t like this so much) — brussel sprouts(it’s made with bacon. it’s not the best I have ever had but I think they bake/pan fry instead of deep fry which makes it healthier) Thought it had a nice cool vibe. unfortunately, they do not have bottomless mimosa brunch here but they do have $ 4 mimosas which is reasonably priced. I will have to come again as it’s between my work and home. I do love the vibe for it though. and very super friendly staff who really care.

Came to Detour for bunch on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. We came with a group of 10 people and they were able to accommodate all of us right away. The place is pretty small but they have outdoor seating as well! It’s decorated really nicely and they have a full bar, whoo hoo! On the menu, it says that they charge 18% for gratuity for parties of 6 or more but they didn’t even end up charging us. How nice of them! I don’t know if they just forgot or they let us off the hook on purpose. They serve a lot of egg dishes(which I love). They have $ 4 mimosas if you feel like getting tipsy while eating. I built my own omelette; the waiter said we could choose up to 3 ingredients. I got cheese, mushrooms and onions($ 12). It was yummy; tasted like any other omelette. Can’t really mess up on eggs. Their potatoes were kind of bland though. I had to add salt & pepper and a lot of hot sauce. Their fruits on the side were super sweet, juicy and fresh, especially the pineapple! The orange was also very sweet as well. Food comes out kind of slow, I don’t know if it’s because we had a big party and they wanted everything to come out all at once, or their kitchen is just slow? Overall, not a bad experience.
