Came to this place last night, no cover charge, beers $ 6, jamo and ginger ale was $ 10, prices were alright. The DJ was aweeeeeesomeee. Marcus the artist had some dopppppe 90s east coast west coast music. Everyone was just vibing out. Definitely coming here next time I’m in LA.

Although this place is small, this has got to be the best music I’ve heard in a while. The DJ was great. There was a mix of old school and new music all night. This is NOT like one of those Hollywood bars. Everyone is dressed very relaxed and casual. No one is snap chatting or recording. It’s just real people enjoying a good time. Plus lots of hot men! I’ll be back forsure lol.

Can’t beat their happy hour! 5 buck well cocktails 6 buck whiskey sours. 4 buck beers! Arrive before 9:30pm so you don’t have to worry about lines. It’s a small place and packs very quickly. Dj starts at 10pm. Great sounds got people moving but not rowdy. I will definitely go back again! We met Thunder Cat there also which made the night even better!

Good time with you’re Woes. I recommend this dive bar. Always played the best music from old school hip hop to new school stuff or Sade :)

Small bar, small dancing room, people here get WILD though! DJ’s got a good mix of music. Real talk, drinks are expensive here. I ordered a Henny and coke, and a shot of house tequila for my friend. It was 25 bucks. Thanks to the guy behind us, he bought us our drinks lmfao. Besides the point it gets packed in there, and I went on a random Tuesday, I might be A LOT harder to get in on a weekend.

I freakin’ love this spot! Yes, it’s small but I love the vibe of it. It gets crowded later in the night, but that’s what happens in huge a huge city. Good music and the bartenders are nice!

Cool bar, good DJ. Came here after dinner for a friends birthday and we had a great time. It’s pretty small however and there aren’t many tables, only downside.

Made out way here on a Saturday night. They had good drinks and great music. The DJ that night was playing some great hip-hop which kept our group very happy. It was extremely crowded however, make sure if you find a good spot, stay there!

Happy hour until 10 pm even on a Saturday $ 4 well drinks $ 4 beer $ 8 shelf drinks Little grungy but cool scene. Lots of mirrors on the walls. Old timey cash register. Dark lighting, cheap leather upholstery– had a very speak easy feel to it. There was only one bartender girl serving and playing records. Maybe more staff comes in later at night? Couple guys in slim cut suits sitting at the bar. Group of 30-somethings girls only sitting at the booth next to us. Not too loud, easy to make conversation. No line and pretty empty at 730 on a Saturday night when I was there– then after dinner– at about 10 pm we walked by and it was packed with a big line out the door and down the street. Dunno if this was a special event or if this is just the norm for that place. It’s a very small bar so it would get full quite quickly.

So the Dime and I have a long history. I’ve kept it to myself for several years and I really don’t know why. So when a new friend asked me to go dancing and then brought me here, I thought MAJORPOINTS. The dime is a cool spot that is not overly exposed, its got great music and stiff drinks and there is a dancefloor… its a tiny one, but its a dancefloor. This lady was very pleased with her date’s choice. We were there on Sunday night and it was also MLK weekend, so it was super packed! Not sure if this is the case every sunday, but come prepared just in case. We were there early and scored a sweet table that several people tried to steal while we were dancing(annoying) There were 2DJ’s that night… the first was aight… but I get it, he was warming up the crowd with some funk… but then a Girl took over the turntables and the party got started! We danced the night away and luckily still had a table to come back to. In the end, the crowd became too much, so we headed out. But I say this to warn you… get there early on popular nights or expect to be shoved, squeezed and annoyed if you come too late. Either way, a fun place to start your LA night on the town!

The Dime is a small bar, so when it gets full, it’s a pain to get from one end to the other. The overtone is pretty dark and has a hipster feel to it. Drink prices can range anywhere from $ 6 beers to $ 10-$ 20 for cocktails and mixed drinks. The bartenders were very courteous for the most part. If you like, they also do sell by the bottle. Smoking has to be done outside since they do not have a patio area. There’s honestly not much around the area, so if you’re into barhopping, you don’t really have many options except leave or have a few drinks and call it a night. Like most bars, weekdays are slower and more locals come here, whereas weekends are a bit more livelier. All in all, it’s a great dive bar to have a few drinks with friends!

I almost passed this bar, while looking for it, but I’m glad I found it! It’s a pretty small bar, be prepared to cozy up next to a stranger! I went on a Friday night. The music was great! It’s throwback R&B and hip-hop(90s/2000s); it was a breathe of fresh air and a walk down memory lane of all the music you jammed to in the past! I fortunately got there early enough to snag a seat at the bar, but the place was full of people standing. I also got drank spilt on me, the consequences of having a seat I guess. I didn’t get a whole drink on me, just tiny spills here and there. Wear something dark! I was shoulder to shoulder with people and had many random conversations but everyone had good vibes. The drinks were made well and I made a couple of restroom trips as a result! Restroom was pretty decent. The music was loud but not unbearable. Lights low. Very cool place if you’re into traveling back in time and hearing some great R&B and hip-hop other than what’s current. It’s definitely someplace you’d find yourself socializing, singing/rapping along with the songs, and having some good drinks. There’s really no space to dance. Street parking.

I stopped here a couple months back in order to visit a friend from Austin. I have a thing for dive bars, and The Dime definitely hits all the positives. It’s tucked away on Fairfax, and you almost wouldn’t know it was a bar until you walk in the door. There are tables and chairs to lounge on closer to the door. The bar is located back far right. As you would expect with a dive bar the drinks are very strong and cheap. They also have great beers. Music selection is hip-hop/funk/r&b and they have a GREAT selection. No surprise, it was a DJ friend of mine that I was visiting, and I’m so glad that they turned me onto this place.

I’m down with the dime. Venue is small as sh*t but the crowd and music(especially the music!!!) make it all worth if. Bartenders are also very very friendly which makes for a good time.

One of my favorite bars ever. Real talk. Yes, it’s small. Yes, it gets crazy packed. Yes, it’s full of hipsters. SO. WHAT. Not many bars play consistent jams and this place ALWAYS plays jams. Think late 90s/early 00s hip-hop mixed with a little bit of the songs of today. You can’t beat it. I always post up in the corner and get my two-step on next to the bartenders. Best nights are Thursdays/Fridays. More so Thursday because you avoid the weekend crowd and lines. Definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

I instantly like a place that plays legit hip-hop music and The Dime is THAT place. They played the best music and none of that bull you hear on the radio on repeat. They even brought it back to the 90’s and kept the whole place dancing the entire night. The vibe here is great too. The bouncer was cool and the people who come here are not pretentious at all. They are just interested in dancing and having a great time. Bartenders are friendly but I think one of the bartenders watered down my drink without me asking. I asked for good old Hennessy on the rocks and she just looked at me like, «Are you sure about that?»(Don’t be fooled by my short stature, this gal can drink). I know she was just looking out for me but I can handle it. Other than that, I didn’t have any problems with this place. The other drinks that we ordered were good. Prices aren’t too bad at all and they have happy hour everyday as well. Size wise, this place is small but it adds to the ambiance. I’m glad The Dime is close to my apartment because now I have a ‘usual spot’ that I can go to :)

I love The Dime, so amazing and different from a lot of places in the area. If you love hip hop, you gotta visit. It’s not just the stuff they’re playing on the radio(thank god). It’s a really small space and gets packed quickly. I went at 10, found a seat at the bar and by 11 it was crowded and a line outside. This is definitely a low key spot in the way you can wear whatever. I wore Nikes, crop top and jeans and felt fine but also saw girls more dressy. It’s a pretty good and diverse crowd. Perfect spot for decent priced drinks, great hip hop and dancing.

While visiting LA, I was looking for a non-pretentious bar to have a few drinks. I Unilocaled«dive bar» and this place appeared first. After reading a few positive reviews, I decided to roll the dice and check it out. For starters, they have happy hour everyday from 4 – 10. On top of that, you can get a beer and a shot for $ 8…yes, $ 8! That’s not limited to wells and cheap beer either. I had Jameson and Stella during happy hour. A DJ started playing around 9:00pm and a bouncer was outside as well. This place fills up as it gets later, but we left around 11:00pm. However, we had such a great time, we came back again Sunday for a few rounds of drinks. It was a much lighter crowd than Thursday, but just as enjoyable. I plan on coming back during my next visit to LA.

This is a great bar. I think it works whether you’re into the divey scene or just want a cool hip hop bar. It is a little on the small side and can get packed but the drinks are good and the music is on point. PS — Rob the door guy is cool. Bring him a chocolate rugelach from Canter’s across the street :)
