Came here pretty early on a friday night and was really surprised by the tiny, low-key vibe. I was there for a date so I was kind of glad about that. the couch was empty so I perched myself over there to wait. Meanwhile, I ordered a ginger-champagne drink(name forgotten) and was kind of surprised to be charged $ 9 for a tiny glass with a little nibble of ginger thrown in there. Maybe I was expecting something a little more original? Had a few beers and a flight, beer was pretty warm and man, did it take a WHILE for me to get my drinks. I just kind of felt like the wait time for someone to pour me a beer was a long time, bar keep wasn’t particularly friendly or amiable. It was relatively empty up until my departure at 10ish on a Friday night. I would say this is a cool spot to come have a very leisurely brew and a conversation… but leaves a bit to be desired in terms of a «champagne bar» as far as I could tell. I did appareciate that they tried to keep the vibe old hollywood, so it was what I expected in that regard. Maybe I’ll check this place out again on my next disastrous date.

Stepping into this place was so nice. The décor and environment was perfect — the music isn’t too loud, the bartender(Chad) greeted me right away. Their drink selections were very tasty! I did not get a chance to try their nibbles but I will next time I am back there! Overall this place is a great place to go to after a long day or just to relax from the madness of Hollywood! I will definitely be back!

This is a great place to go before a show at UCB Sunset. I stopped in with a couple of friends yesterday and we had a lovely time. It was early, so the place was a little quiet. The bartender was extremely accommodating-offered to let me taste the wine even though he had to open a new bottle to do so. Then he didn’t blink twice when I ordered a cocktail instead.(Made with a variety of fermented rice wines since they don’t yet have a full liquor license.) I had the eastsider, which was fresh and delicious, and my friend had a jalapeño margarita, and Truly, I could have sworn there was tequila in it. We had a nice time and then walked a few blocks to the theatre. The show was awesome — Super Married.

A cozy bar for wine lovers in the heart of Hollywood. The perfect place to relax with friends, go on a date, or meet new people while enjoying a glass of wine or champagne and listening to music. Open nightly for a place to unwind after work or enjoy a night out on the weekend. I definitely recommend you check this place out.

Coming into this bar, I felt like I got a little cooler. It’s small and hip, but not too trendy like something you might find in Silver Lake. The bartender was kind and helpful, and very knowledgable about beer. Also, slammin’ sangria, if you’re into that. It’s chill, the music is not overbearing in terms of volume or poppiness, and it seems like it would actually be a good place for a low-key weekend brew.

I love this place so much. It was a very chill and friendly vibe, so it has the energy of Cheers, against an art deco interior. The music is all played on a record player. This place seems to attract a lot of out of towners as well, maybe it is the novelty of its name? Either way, I have met a lot of interesting people and have had great conversations with them. The bartenders are awesome, make you feel at home, and make awesome drinks. I’m proud to call this my neighborhood bar.

Where do I start? No line. No pretentious regulations. Upon walking into The Know Where Bar, you are transcended into a different time. This time capsule of a bar has an elegant, sophisticated, and FUN vibe. Picture a night out on the town in Old Hollywood, 1970s. The wooden bar is dimly lit with candles and a crystal chandelier while the greats boom from an antique vinyl player. It’s an intimate venue that is perfect for you and your close friends, or even better, a place to meet that special someone. Don’t even get me started on the cocktails! The bar tender, Adrian, did not only welcome us as if we were close friends into his own home, but was extremely knowledgeable on the art of mixology and crafted some authentic cocktails that were out of this world!!! Definitely becoming a regular here!

The Vibe is great here if you want to have an intimate date. They play music, but nothing too loud. Loved the décor! Candle lit, and very clean. The bartender was very helpful and made a great cocktail.

THIS. PLACE. IS. AWESOME. We walked in on a Saturday night after hiking at sunset in Griffith Park and it was not crowded at all. They didn’t care that we were in casual hiking clothes, either, but the ambiance definitely screams«cool quiet lounge ideal for dates or casual hanging out.» We kind of wished we had dressed up a little more, because the décor of the bar was just that nicely done, with an Art Deco theme.(It’s not a dive bar like one of the Unilocal tips says.) Suggestion: we had food at the House of Tacos across the street beforehand(also good) and then came here for drinks. Once you find parking in the neighborhood, you probably want to stay in the area a little while, because it’s kinda tough to get a spot. They’re still working on a full liquor license, so they said they don’t have a full cocktail menu yet, but what they had was delicious and awesome. I liked their sangria and they have about five or six cool craft beers on tap.(Some of the older reviews on Unilocal say they do a free sangria — it didn’t seem like they’re still doing that.) The bartenders were super friendly, especially on a quiet night, and the music was not so loud that we couldn’t hear each other — which fit the atmosphere and was great because I don’t speak very loudly and don’t like straining to hear people. They said they expected the bar to become a little more crowded once they have a full drink menu, but I almost hope they don’t so that it stays the great neighborhood haunt that it is!

We live around the corner and instantly fell in love with this gem. It’s not a diamond in the rough, but rather an under-appreciated masterpiece.

I live off Gramercy Pl and Hollywood Blvd and I couldn’t have been more happy to stumble upon The Know Where. The drinks are great(I prefer the Old Classic) and the bartender(s) are friendly. The overall vibe/ambience of the establishment oozes a combination of both class and sophistication, sans any shred of pretentiousness. Whether you’re solo, on a date, or with a group, give this place a visit; especially if you want something different than the(stereo)typical chaos spewing out of the majority of Hollywood nightclubs/bars. Also, they just got an espresso machine… Yet another reason to trek to Know Where.

The Know Where Bar is a dimly lit bar in East Hollywood. Though noted as a wine bar, I do not remember them having a large selection of wine. That said, it was quiet, they had a Unilocal Check-In deal for a Free Sangria, and it seemed like it could be a great place to bring a date that you are trying to get to know. Easy place to talk, bartender also serves as the DJ on their vintage turntable. Surprisingly impressed.

Was back at one of my favorite bars and as usual, they never disappoint. Got there after 11pm and was busier than usual, but everyone was having a good time, in conversation and enjoying a great Saturday night. Some new additions to the drink menu, and they have more food offerings now! Bartender Daniel was on top of it all and made sure everyone was taken care of while giving people their space. Cool dude, great service, and and an awesome bar.

I didn’t think I would have liked this place but it’s actually a cute little spot. The bartender is so friendly and makes great drinks. You get a free sangria w/Yelp check in, the sangria is homemade and is delicious! Prices are great, and ppls are great. I had such a good time here, got a little too drunk but it hey it was friday night. lol.

The Know Where Bar is a new beer /wine spot on a nowhere stretch of Hollywood serving beer cocktails in a simple, dark, art deco-inspired vibe. The bar is primarily lit by tea candles, which is another way of saying it’s as dark as a cave in here. It’s dark enough that I cleaned my glasses for fear I had momentarily gone blind. To no avail, it turns out it was not something on my lenses, just you know, darkness. The décor is simple. Tin tile ceiling, lighting with sharp angles, the aforementioned tea lights, random items(artifacts) on the bar such as an old fan and a single vase of lilies. A turntable sits at one of end of the bar, but despite turning was in no way controlling the good mix playing above. A Heller Moritz yielded me a hef with added unknown sparkling white and a lemon wedge(7) and it tasted like, well a hef. I suppose a value-added hef in that the hef here runs 6d. Beers, of which there are about a half dozen, run between $ 5 – 7. A dozen wines run $ 8 – 12, though most clots to the median and mostly red. They offer a small menu of small bites(and yes they have included chocolate.) The kitchen appears to be a toaster oven. My charcuterie came out on a small board that was nearly overflowing with stuff. For 11d, I was pleased. It included two cheeses, two or three varieties of meat, olives, nuts, and mini toasts. If anything it was lacking enough bread to eat all of the supplied goods. But that’s ok – I routinely eat deli meat out of the bag. I’m not above it at a wine bar. A Cherry Bite(10) reminded me of England. It took me a while to figure that out, but it turns out combining bitters and a prosecco tastes a little like a cider. I drank a lot of cider in England. Too much cider… Despite the ambiance, it had a rather boisterous crowd. It was busy with what appeared to be a surprise party for someone’s 36th. Take that as you will, but I looked around and wondered if I was really that much younger than everyone else. I hadn’t considered it until I saw the balloons. There are a few benches /couches at the front, some open space and barstools rounding out the seating in the back in what is actually a fairly small, intimate and narrow bar. Perhaps that’s the reason for the single bathroom. That’s probably a mistake… A nice, toasty, chocolatey porter ran me 6d. The advantage of keeping the menu to beers and wine(what with this not-quite-so-newfangled craft cocktail phase) is that drinks come out quickly. The Know Where Bar strikes a nice balance between wine bar and neighborhood bar /pub. I punched out an email on my way out, «I found a new bar I think you’d like. And close to home. ««I am excited for close-to-home bar,» was the word back. Come to think of it, that wouldn’t be a bad name for a bar either.

If you don’t know, now you know… where bar. I love the beer cocktail selection, and for those that don’t like to mix their libations, the just beer, just bubbly, and just wine lists are dandy, too. It’s more of a place to go to unwind or chat with a pal. Feels like hanging out at a posh friend’s remodeled basement. The furniture reminds me of an ‘80s corporate lobby, and I like it. There’s ample seating and apparently they have plans for adding some nice little bites in the future in the form of cheese, meat, nuts, and maybe even chocolate! I love the idea of chocolate as most«bars» don’t offer that but it is a damn fine drinking buddy to a nice glass of vino. Very reminiscent of El Prado in Echo Park.
