This is just an amazing breakfast spot. I always bring friends from out of town to sit and grab breakfast. Great for people watching.

Don’t eat here… Was eating at a table near an argument with a customer and this female manager. Was a terrible experience as the manager could not calm the customer down as she kept blabbering nonsense to the customer. The manager seemed very stupid and lame as she tried to play a victim and say«stop screaming at me» when the customer was still talking coherently. This chick needs to take some Manager 101 classes and develop some common sense.

Food is great, waiters are great, the manager is quite thick-headed and questionable. We had enjoyed are meal and were finishing up until we found some long hairs in a fruit dish. This did not bother us as we were very satisfied and just let our waiter know. She brought this manager over and we were offered a replacement and a free meal. We graciously declined and explained how we did not care about the hair, did not want a replacement and were content in paying the bill. Unfortunately though, for some reason she could not say a simple«sorry» and continued to «reassure» us by pointing out that there are no female workers or cooks that would have been near the dish. This offended us greatly as her method of «reassuring» us was to push the blame for the hair onto the customers. When trying to tell her how we felt, she proceeded to ignore any customer concerns and repeat she is trying to «reassure» us no staff with long hair went near our dish. We ended up arguing for 5 minutes before I realized this was going nowhere. Therefore this ended as a horrible experience due to this unqualified manager. How she came to manage this place I have no idea as she: 1. Carries a very rude personality 2. Can’t calm a customer down 3. Can’t handle a simple situation This manager made the atmosphere of this restaurant a hostile and unwelcome environment.

Suzie Q’s Fun Facts: Toast(toasted bread) gets its flavor from the Maillard reaction: a chemical reaction occurring between amino acids and reducing sugars, triggered by exposing food to radiant heat. =≅≅≅≅≅≅~ I was not bowled over by Toast. I ordered the«3rd Street» omelette(spinach, swiss and feta cheeses, mushrooms and onions — $ 10.95), and was bored to pieces by it. No texture, no flavor. The egg casing was oddly spongy and whipped — the texture typically found in an omelette served on a long-haul airplane flight. The fillings inside were stingy, rather than bounteous… and chopped so finely that there was virtually no substance or texture. Or flavor, either — not enough seasoning. Toast refused to accommodate my request for a no-carb alternative to the proffered bread/bagel/English muffin(though I was amused by the waiter’s apropos response: «We have gluten free bread.») So my plate had nothing on it but the boring omelette and a small fruit cup. Not worth the money. And even though I don’t eat bread, my friend did. I noticed that we didn’t receive the complimentary bread basket that others have remarked upon in their reviews. Has this been discontinued, or were we just left out? The service was fine, if unexceptional. I had ordered decaf coffee, and reminded the server of that when he offered a refill, but could tell immediately that he’d given me a cup o’ regular, instead.(Commence uncomfortable jitters). Even the vibe of Toast was kind of subdued. My friend and I were seated at an inside table next to the interior entrance of the bakery café. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but the low light and location made me feel ill at ease. I’d return, I suppose, but due more to the location — and the shorter lines than you often see at Joan’s on Third — and less because the food is anything special.

This place is totally worth the drive! Lattes and food totally lived up to the hype. Vanilla Latte Came perfectly sweetened already, no sugar needed. Latte art made it a cup of prettiness as well. Toast Coffee Imagine a good cup of coffee with whipped cream on top and chocolate syrup on the bottom. This drink is definitely good to the last drop. The Open Face Similar to an eggs Benedict instead of a poached egg there is salmon. Salmon was so fresh! All that goodness sitting on top of a crispy buttery croissant. Worth every calorie! The Oscar Grilled chicken strips topped with eggs, salsa, and avocado all wrapped in corn tortillas served in a skillet. Absolutely delicious. Fruit Offered as one of the sides and definitely worth it! Fresh, pretty and everything was sweet. Parking Valet is offered for a small nominal fee or metered street parking is available. A little be of patience can save you from having to valet your vehicle. Can’t wait to come back and try more goodies on their menu!

After hearing about this place for a while, we decided to bring a visiting friend here for brunch. While the husband was looking for parking, I spoke to the hostess and asked for a table for 3 for the outdoor sitting area. This was at 10am, and there were empty tables and nobody in line waiting. The hostess basically said she’ll sit us after my party arrived. Fair enough. After my husband and friend joined me, I went up to the hostess again to inform her that we are all here. She said to give her a few minutes. While we waited near to the hostess stand, we noticed that people were starting to show up, and I saw that she sat two other parties almost immediately. I got pretty annoyed at that, and went up to her and asked for a table again. Without any apology whatsoever, she just sat us at the only table that is closest to the hostess stand. She barely said anything to us, and it almost felt like she didn’t want us to be there. Hostess aside, our server was very nice although service was a little slow. Food wise was okay. I had the avocado toast, which I find to be a little bland. The husband had the Asian salad which he enjoyed, and our friend had the goat cheese omelette, which he was okay with. It’s definitely a spot to see and be seen, but I am not sure if I would want to deal with the hostess again the next time I come here.

I was trying to figure out why this place was so popular. There isn’t anything about it at first glance that makes it look amazing. But damn, if that stuffed french toast isn’t fricking amazing. It’s layered with banana pudding, caramelized bananas, and walnuts. It’s big enough to feed a small army and it is so damn good.

Toast is definitely one of the best places to grab brunch in LA. Yes, it’s hard to find parking, but they have valet and Yes, it’s a bit overpriced, but where isn’t? The wait is also annoying, but again, where won’t you have a wait on a weekend for brunch that’s good? The menu has something to offer for everyone and the presentation and quality is top notch. They don’t skimp on portions either and he food comes out in a timely manner no mater how busy and they will make sure you are satisfied with what you get. I also really appreciate their service. It’s very organized and there are enough waiters to give you enough attention and service. I do feel that if you eat outside you will get better service though. However, being sunglasses because the sun will get annoying. The inside has a very cool atmosphere and if you are a little larger group, you can sit in the couches on the back and have your food on a coffee table, which I think is totally cool. Their food has great variety and some dishes definitely have Israeli inspiration which is never a bad thing. :) I am not much of a breakfast person so I usually have lunch items. The garden salad is Epic. Probably one of the best salads in LA. I also really like the smoke stack pressed sandwich because it comes with plenty of smoked turkey, avocado and grilled red onions and a good sauce. Get that with sweet potato fries and cholula and your lunch game will be strong.

If you’re a breakfast lover it’s defiantly a place you should check out/ I had a great experience ! A huge breakfast, everything tasted fresh and home made! I had to go back a few times so I can try other dishes on the menu Lol The coffee is one of the best I had in California. The service was amazing, the girl was so sweet and her recommendations were spot on. Great value for your money and if you’re planning on a weekend breakfast you better have a reservation. Great food. great service. Enjoy.

Toast is a nice neighborhood breakfast place serving American style. Love their two cozy sofa located to your far left all the way to the back from the entrance. I can imagine with a large group of eight would fit very comfy. Be cool to bring a nice board game of chess or monopoly. Staff here were great, service was quick, and my breakfast was plentiful. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

The best brunch place in Los Angeles period. Considering that I am someone who is obsessed with going out for brunch and discovering new places, no where has been better than toast for me. Their service is top, their food is AMAZING, and their ice vanilla latte… Oh. My. Goodness. Their is definitely a wait when you go especially on the weekends it gets super busy, but I promise you it’s worth it. The garden salad is so so amazing, the portobello press sandwich, the smoke stack sandwich, and any of the egg dishes. Loved the mushroom Benedict. My husband wanted to take my to a beautiful brunch this past Saturday for my birthday, but I told him there is no need because at the end of the day no where is better then here.

This place is A-OK. Came here for the first time today and it was good. First off, there is pretty much no street parking, and the residential parking nearby is all permit only. Their valet closes up pretty early at 3pm and they recommended I park in the structure across the street. It was $ 6 for self park. The line was pretty long even at 2pm, and we waited around 20 minutes for a table for 2. I had the portobello press sandwich with onion rings and my friend got a wrap with french fries. My sandwich was pretty good but nothing too special, the onion rings were above average though. Service was kind of slow, had to wait around for quite a while for every little thing, water, to take order, green iced tea(that they had gotten wrong), for food, for boxes, for check, etc. The price point is slightly steep for around $ 14 for a sandwich but that’s kind of normal around the area. Didn’t have anything that super stood out but nothing was also bad, place was A-OK.

Great atmosphere. Wonderful fast service. The waiter recommend the Chilaquiles. They were delicious. Corn tortilla chips smothered with a mild sauce covered with cheese and crowned with a fried egg, avocado, & a dollop of sour cream. The plating was quite cute in a little pan . I will be returning. Not only for the food but for the awesome service.

I’ve been here twice for breakfast and both times it was for a breakfast business meeting! Seems like a lot of people meet here for business meetings! I had the yogurt and granola(see pic) which was had delicious homemade granola, banana and strawberry and yogurt(you can also get milk instead of yogurt). The person I was with had the Belgium waffle which came w whipped cream and fruit! The service was nothing special / we did have everything we needed so can’t complain. We sat outside this last time and I think I prefer outside to inside. It’s worth a try if in the area!

Celebrating a friends birthday this past Saturday afternoon and it was great. Have been to Toast once before for dinner many years ago and even back then food was good and the staff was very attentive. This time around ordered The Lus Sandwich which came with a nice portion of grilled chicken, baby apinach, avocado, salsa(pico de gallo) and melted mozzarella on a fantastic ciabatta bread. You can order your choice of fruit, French fries, house salad, smashed potatoes, onion rings, sweet potato fries or 7 grain salad as your side. I went with the onion rings that were crispy and tasty, added a fruit bowl as well, the fruit bowl wasn’t freshly made, I’m sure on the day but they make them and it sits out, still tasted fine but only wished it was refrigerated instead. Afterwards I ordered a vanilla latte and a peanut butter cupcake, the vanilla latte was delicious, as for the cupcake, the peanut butter frosting was way sweet and the cupcake itself was not bad at all, size was okay, not a huge cupcake but compared to other places I would say this regular size cupcake looked like a mini, oh and they do offer a mini size for half the prize, just imagine it being a tooth or two size. Staff was attentive again this time around and were always checking up on us, from refilling our drinks to checking if all tasted fine and if we wanted anything else to order. Sat inside but the outside patio is just as nice, nice shade under the sun and people watching is just a fantastic way to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at Toast. They now have a bakery next to the restaurant which opened maybe a year or so ago, looks very nice, they offer ice cream, cakes and other cookies. With my meal and dessert I just needed a walk, was so full I wanted to take a nap somewhere. There is street parking if you could find a spot but local parking lots charge $ 6, they offer valet.
