I’m not a huge fan of hot dogs so I naturally went for the Asian cheesesteak and OH-MY-GOD!!! I don’t even know how to describe how good it was. The flavors of the steak, cheese and fusion ingredients were incredible. I highly recommend it. Officially stalking their whereabouts to take my husband !!!

Hurry curry chili dog and octopus balls were pretty good, although the portions were kind of small. I didn’t finish the octopus balls though– although good, I think it was a little too much of something~ maybe too much sauce or seafoody flavor. It’s something that you should try once but not good enough to return.

Food truck that was at my work: Got the Hawaiian teriyaki bacon wrapped hotdog. It was delicious, all the flavors, mmm! The bread was toasted and thick and soft perfect with the hotdog and flavors, I wanted a 2nd! Taro boba milk tea. It was purple! And sooo tasty. The bobas were perfectly cooked, it was non-dairy too! I wish this was nearby every day so I could have one. Fried octopus balls. Pretty good, served real hot. Covered in flavors, the ball flavor was like a spongy outside with what was like creamy mashed potato inside with some bites of octopus mixed in. They were good but not my cup of tea on the texture combo. The octopus was a touch chewy. Grand total: $ 11, great deal for food trucks I will return here, it had lots of other menu items with their fun twist I want to try

My older and younger sister and I go here whenever we see the truck! The service is always so great, we love them. Normally I just order the takoyaki because it’s so good. I’ve also has the taro milk tea, lychee lemonade, fries, and I’ve bought my sister and her friend hot dogs from here before. However, the takoyaki is the best. It’s really worth it because it’s always hot and crisp on the outside and soft in the inside and it’s always well seasoned. The service is always nice and they remember us and always serve us with a bright smile. I ordered a hot dog for myself for the first time today because I felt that I should probably order something other than a side if I’m going to keep ordering from this truck. I got the bacon wrapped teriyaki dog(with takoyaki and fries and lychee lemonade) and the flavor is good although I normally don’t care for hot dogs. Everything else was just as good as I expected it to be because it tasted just as good as every other time I’ve had it.

Another great dog at the street food cinemas — thanks Tokyo doggy style! There is nothings me this truck in la if you have a chance to experience just do it! You won’t be disappointed — and the fries were amazing — crispy hot and delicious — the perfect compliment to the dog — keep up the good work!

This might just be my new favorite food truck, all because of their amazing loaded fries. It’s like carne asada fries meet Japan’s best! The flavors are so rich and go so well together. The sauce is just the right amount to soak the fries, but not make them soggy. And the portions are huge, making for the perfect lunch. Every bite is bursting with flavor from start to finish. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite stops while in LA. Their takoyaki is by far one of my favorites. We had a curry dog, their lychee lemonade, and the takoyaki. And I am definitely a fan. Lines were quite long but they moved fast. Will be back!

Out of all the food trucks at the Eat See Hear event at The Autry, this one popped out and I had high expectations after reading other Unilocalers’ reviews. We got the Bacon Wrapped Teriyaki Hot Dog with Fries, Philly Cheese Steak with Octopus Balls and a Taro Milk Tea and Lychee Lemonade to wash it all down. First of all the wait was pretty long, but that was expected since it’s pretty popular. The service was great. A friendly lady took my order and I thought it be a long wait, so I left for 10 min to walk around and when I cam back, they called my number and told me they had already called me a few minutes ago and that my food was ready, but if I waited then they would make me a fresh order. I waited a minute and an even friendlier lady gifted me with some yummy looking, piping hot food. Sadly, the food looked better than it tasted. Hot Dog 3⁄5 There was some flavor, but the seaweed stuff they sprinkled over the top was a bit overpowering and the dog was so tiny for the price. Fries 4⁄5 Nice, crispy, good flavor. Philly Cheese Steak 3.5÷5 Good size. Unique, cheesy, tasty. Octopus Balls 3⁄5 Not a huge fan of seafood, but wanted to try these The flavors were muddled and too fishy. Taro Milk Tea 5⁄5 Refreshing, great taro flavor and soft, chewy boba. So good! Lychee Lemonade 5⁄5 I love lychee and this hit the spot.

OK, TDS is seriously good and absolutely worth the wait. Decided to go all out when we came across this food truck at the Chinese Summer Nights festival. Overall ~$ 38 for 2 drinks and a mish-mash of mouth-watering fried food that kept us full til the next morning onwards. More than sufficient for two hungry ladies. The eats: — Hawaiian Style Bacon-wrapped Hot Dog with side(our pick: seaweed) ~$ 11. A small but delicious dog that is crispy, juicy, and surprisingly flavor-packed with a mix of pineapple, wasabi, and mayo. The seaweed is good, though not any different from any typical seaweed one gets at the Asian market. — Yakinaku Beef Philly Cheesesteak with side(our pick: takoyaki — 3 balls) ~$ 13. A decent-sized cheesesteak with beef that is perfectly marinated and cooked. The takoyaki balls are decent and contain a chewy octopus center. — Loaded Fries $ 9. A large serving of seasoned crispy fries smothered with Yakinaku beef(yummers), onions, kimchi, cheese and more. Enough for 2 – 3 to share. — Taro milk tea/boba $ 4.5. Steep for boba but the flavor was good and the purple liquid smooth. Plus, the pearls were chewy and cooked just right. Definitely not the healthiest food on the planet but sometimes, it’s totally worth the calories.

I’ll start this review with saying that I did not have a hot dog. I had one of their rice bowls that comes with a side of either fried octopus balls, fries or seaweed salad. I chose the salad. I got the chicken teriyaki rice bowl, which came with what looked like pickled carrots. Nothing special to write home about. The bog kicker was the $ 12.50 price tag… from a food truck. For a rice bowl. Meh.

As food trucks go, this one is a nicer one. I got the vegan dog, and seaweed salad. I thought it would be a weird combo but it really worked well together. I will say that the dog was great! Just wish there was more of it. Pretty small given the price tag. I was a little disappointed at the size. The taste was definitely there. Friendly owners, and workers just a little slow, and not very filling.

The lines and wait times for this truck are always pretty atrocious, but as any LA local foodie/food truck connoisseur will tell you, it is damn well worth it!!! Sorry, I got excited for a second, there. Anyway, if you love Asian fusion/street food, you will go ga-ga for this fare. The most popular thing they serve is probably the Takoyaki(octopus balls… no, not those, you pervert!), which come out piping hot and delicious. Or so it seems, as I don’t do seafood. Their rice bowls, Asian-style sliders, several different types of loaded hot dogs topped with all sorts of crazy goodness, and seaweed salad are also local favorites; but MY absolute must are the Tokyo Doggy Style Yukiniko Loaded Fries. They are THE most foodporn-worthy fries to come out of a food truck, in my experience. They come slathered with everything from crispy, seared bulgogi beef, melted mozzarella cheese, spicy mayo, kimchi, & caramelized onions. These bad boys are a meal in & of themselves. If you’re more a veggie freak, but love exciting flavors that pop, & want something to tide you over for the next couple of hours, order their Veggie Dog loaded with a bunch of healthy, yet savory toppings, & a side of their famous crispy Aonori Umami Fries. You may not be skinny after that meal, but man, you will be positively bursting with energy from all those carbs & protein. Also, they cater. In case you care.

Yummy! On top of the great food, this truck delivers great service as well. Makes me stuff my face with a smile. I got the Yakiniku beef bowl with a 3pc side of takoyaki for $ 12. I had a hard time deciding between all the awesome things on the menu — next time for sure I’m going to get the yakiniku fries. The girl at the window was super nice — she kindly put my order in a bag as I had a bit of a walk back to my office. Another star for her customer service when she realized she had made an mistake on the order before me and swiftly compensated the customer which he appreciated. Thank you guys for updating your website with your daily location! Nothing more I can’t stand than to go to a food truck website only to find that it hasn’t been updated for months. Can’t wait to see you guys again!

My bf and I were strolling around little Tokyo and stumbled upon this truck! He was extremely excited because he follows them on Twitter. After looking at their fattening menu and deciding whether we should cheat on our diet or not, we decided to. Our EDC bodies can wait. He ordered their seasonal homemade veggie hot dog and I got their curry dog. WONDERFUL service and we could’ve ordered fries for $ 1 off, but we resisted. It took a while for our food to be ready, but it’s understandable since they prep it fresh. When I saw our meal, I was saddened about how small it was. We paid about $ 16 for 2 hotdogs that were palm sized. After taking my first bite, that regret was gone. Their curry dog was extremely flavorable, but not overwhelming. I absolutely loved it. I had to take little bites so I don’t swallow the thing whole. It had curry, tomatoes and egg whites! I didn’t like my bf’s veggie dog but he really enjoyed it. This wasn’t a cheat meal, it was a cheat snack– and well deserved.

Delcious! Get the combo plate with grilled salmon, veggies and rice with pickled daikon. Side of octopus balls to bring it all together. Worth every damn penny.

This food truck was at the Chinese New Year Festival in LA’s Chinatown this weekend. I only tried their Takoyaki, but I bet everything else on the menu is just as good! I love Tako balls! When I saw it on the menu, I couldn’t pass it up. they have an order of 3 or 6. I got 3 and wished I had ordered more! Super friendly service. Food came out quick as well. If I ever see them on the streets I will definitely stop for them!

A very delightful food truck, with actual Japanese people and personality working it! Personally, the Takoyaki is pretty good and I highly recommend them. I tried the Hurry Curry Hot Dog, and it’s Japanese curry with pickled radish and egg on a Hawaiian-ish toasted bread. You can get a combo for $ 9, and it’s delicious!

Do you go to food trucks simply because you’re hungry? Or is it because you want to taste something you’ve never tasted before? Tokyo Doggie Style is for those in the latter category. This isn’t just food. This is happy food. You could be having the worst day of your life, but after your Tokyo Doggie Style experience, everything will be OK. Notice I said«experience»? That’s because this truck isn’t just about the food. It’s about the service. As I stated in my first review, the young woman taking everyone’s orders is so friendly and appreciative of your business, you’ll find yourself ordering more than you ever imagined. And once you finish devouring that order, you’ll wish you had ordered more. That’s because Chef Keith Yokoyama is doing some amazing things back there in that tiny, cramped kitchen of his. You want a basic teriyaki salmon bowl? Go somewhere else. Here, it’s served with a yuzu citrus ponzu sauce and sautéed veggies. Then there’s that 100% Homie Veggie Dog. It’s so hard to describe. It’s like they combined daikon radish, brown rice, veggies and magic. Is that what they mean by «Japanese Fusion»? Is the fusion part magic? I bet it’s magic. Anyhow, unlike their meat offerings, there’s nothing resembling a «hot dog» in this dish. But it’s served doggie style(you see what I did there?) in a thick piece of New England toast. Then there are the sides: Aonori Umami Dust Fries? Yes! Crispy Octopus Balls? Oh, yes! Seaweed Salad? Oh, baby, yes! Needless to say, if you haven’t experienced this food truck, you have to do it now. If not today, tomorrow. Don’t live in the area? Then do whatever you have to do to get here. Just don’t hitchhike. That’s far too dangerous in this day and age. What I’m trying to say is, this is simply the best food truck in Los Angeles. And if anyone dares to debate that fact, I would like to have a word with them … right after I finish my Veggie Dog, Aonori Fries, Seaweed Salad and Lychee Lemonade. Mmm, that’s good magic.
