We hesitated stopping here because there were other establishments with more check-ins. I’m so glad we stopped. The staff was so great from the second we walked in. They took our drink order right away, the food order was served quickly, and the waitress checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything else.

Great breakfast! Very hot when it arrived at our table. Meats were fresh like off the ranch to the table. Home made jams were the best. Service was fast and friendly. Worth the drive from Turlock.

Wonderful owner, service, food. Waitresses are diligent and genuinely kind. The salsa is homemade and delicious. The men in the group loved the Portuguese beans. You must try a side order of them! Owner kindly refused to divulge his mother’s secret recipe for them. They had a special of apricot pancakes that day and had just pulled an apricot cobbler out of the oven as we were leaving. My seafood omelet was outstanding. My son’s eggs Benedict had thick slices of ham. I can go on… So just eat there.

We stop at Eddies probably 3 – 4 times a year for breakfast when we are on our way to the coast from Madera and are never disappointed. They have the best bacon and I love their country Benedict. Their salsa is delicious also.

Visited this place on my trip from a Bay Area to LA. It’s a bit to the side of I-5, but it definitely worths it! Try it out and you’ll return again and again. Last time it was a blue cheese burger. Pickles were sharp just right and onions were awesome. And the blue cheese. And the home fries! It’s hard to describe it but you can feel a lot of love that went into this food. Highly recommended!

We travel through LB several dozen times a year and finally stopped for a bite at the famed«Eddies» and are glad we did. We knew we wanted to try the chicken fried steak and eggs. I called ahead and ordered. When we walked in the place was clean and friendly and within a few short minutes our breakfast was served. The country potatoes were perfectly cooked. Eggs were on point the the chicken fried steaks and gravy were incredible. The friendly owners brought some fresh homemade salsa and homemade jams for our table. Yummo! My hubby ordered a glass of milk with his meal and it was served in a frozen glass! Nice touch to an already fantastic breakfast. We can’t wait to return for the chile verde omelette and Cuban sandwich!

I highly recommend this place. The food is great. The staff is friendly. Had breakfast here and the bacon and eggs were done perfectly. The cinnamon roll is to die for. If you have an opportunity to stop here, don’t pass it by.

My wife read about Eddie’s in an article about stops on I5. It was absolutely worth the 5 mile drive over to Los Banos. As we arrived, four people welcomed us and made sure that we were being taken care of, including Eddie himself. We sat a communal table with some local people that were discussing politics. My wife and son loved the French toast made from the homemade cinnamon bun. I had the breakfast burrito made with the homemade sausage. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The optional salsa verdant was made fresh that morning. All the while, the very friendly wait staff checked on us regularly. To end a nice meal, we were surprised to find out that someone had picked up our tab! We never found out if it was the nice regular customers next to us, or Eddie himself. All in all, a memorable meal. We’ll be back.

Food was very good, service was not. My wife n I ordered breakfast n when we got our food I asked for side of gravy to add to my biscuit we finished our meals and the waitress was no where to be found along with my gravy. I hope she finishes doing what ever she’s doing soon so I can get some gravy. Her tip disappeared with my gravy

Could easily be four stars. I had the country benedict and my wife had the regular eggs benedict. Hers was good with really thick pieces of country ham. The home fries were the star of our meal. Tasted like the potatoes were rubbed with butter and sea salt then roasted before being chopped and grilled. Best ive ever had even without the onions and peppers. The only issue i had was with the gravy. Had a weird color and texture. It needs work if you are predominantly a breakfast place. The service was good and the place was very clean. I will be back.

This restaurant list ingredients on build your omelette As avocado but put guacamole in my omelette making it slimy on the inside when I was expecting fresh avocado slices. The waiting staff didn’t even offer to remedy the issue or discount my meal. I will never be back again. Yet I will tell everyone how bad it was and the waitress gave me some excuse that their avocado is guacamole. There is a difference?

Passing through and stopped based off the reviews. Was greated by hostess/server(Roxy) as soon as we walled in the door. Offered do take drink order as soon as we were sitting down. It’s a Saturday morning there are three other tables here. Ordered a cinnamon roll for the table. That was great. Ordered chorizo and eggs came out fast and hot. Its here now so more review later… The food was great. Lots of flavor. Roxy checked back in on us as needed. Will bookmark for this again if traveling through.

Found it on Unilocal.Super cuite mom and pop place. Awsome cinnamon roll fresh, hot, doughy. Order the home made sausage and eggs w a fresh homemade biscuit. Perfect stop on a long road trip. Small intimate restaurant. Server Roxy was super friendly and attentive. Fun colorful plates. Home made jams and salsa. Todays jams were mango and raspberry. Huge fluffy biscuit and homemade sausage patty all food came out hot and fresh. So glad we passed up Dennys. Won’t go away hungry.

Great stop when en route from the Central Valley to the coast. Mom n pop diner… home made jams and salsa, chile verde omelette, everything you’d want in a diner. Prices are good, and you will not leave hungry!

This is the pinochle of the great old American restaurant — there is no place on the planet the can compare for breakfast.

We had checked Unilocal and saw this was supposed to be a «great» place. Everything sounded that way but when we finally tried it, we were disappointed. It was a Sunday morning and not very crowded when we went in. There was the famous«Eddie», 3 waitresses, 2 cooks, 1 busboy type and I guess the dishwasher so that make 8 people. We were impressed until we waited over 45 minutes before we were served. That is way to long with that many people working! We did notice that some«locals», that appeared to be friends, went to the back room and were served long before the folks in the front. We were ready to walk out. It did get very noisy when a few more people came it also even though it was not that busy. The food was not that great either. The home fries were dry and very undercooked/hard. The salsa tasted like it was out of a can, the toast was dry and hard. They did serve a huge piece of salty ham and the eggs were at least done over easy. My wife had a dry spinach & cheese omelet and substituted fresh fruit for potatoes that cost $ 1.95 extra. The bus boy seemed to give the customers more attention than the waitresses, they seemed like they were all standing around talking to each other. We will NOT be going back again.

Labeled the best restaurant in the valley, this 6AM to 2PM eatery caters to breakfast mostly but serves a decent lunch as well. It has a very high rating on trip advisor and It had been recommended to me by several people I trust. I love breakfast and breakfast is an excellent way to judge the quality of a restaurant. I ordered two eggs over medium, sausage, crispy hash browns and a ½ order of biscuits and gravy. This is a heavy breakfast that I only eat occasionally but it is the perfect way to judge a place that specializes in traditional American diner breakfasts. The eggs whites were perfectly cooked while the yolks were still nice and juicy. The hash browns were crispy without being burnt. The sausage was more of an ameba shape than a perfect circle meaning it was freshly shaped from fresh pork sausage. It was also very flavorful as well. The biscuits where light and fluffy and the sausage gravy have the right texture, pepper flavor and was chunked full of sausage. This was by far the best breakfast I have ever had. So why not five stars. For one, the coffee was a bit weak. A customer can make strong coffee weaker but not a weak coffee stronger. The water tastes as if it had recently been recycled. This is probably a fact of the local water table but water — at this establishment — should always be served with a slice of lemon to take the edge off. Other than that, a great place to eat.

The food was decent diner food. Slightly better than Denny’s. The reason for two stars was the service. Unless you’re a local, don’t even bother coming here. I noticed the locals get a lot of attention, but if you’re passing thru go to McDonalds. The breakfast was decent, nothing special, I got better service from the bus boy. Do not be fooled by buying the large cinnamon roll. I bought it, and its nothing but bread dough with minor cinnamon spice. There was absolutely no glaze on it(which is how a cinnamon roll is made). Go down the road to 711 or a donut shop. The setting was a little too nostalgic. I felt the owners were too cheap to upgrade the décor.

Pros: –local owners –big portions of food Cons: –hyped –shabby place –not clean –old –did not meet expectations –food was eh There are better restaurants that serve homestyle American food like Denny’s and Blackbear and they have better dining environments.
