Service was bad. Arrived and was told 15 min. 30 min later and after complaining because two groups of 4 were seated before us. We were seated in back room along with every other group that just walked in. Food was the worst I’ve had at a BB diner. Server left food and did not come back until we were done eating. Not a single refill. Had to take silverware from another table. Will not be coming back to this location.

My friends and I went for a road trip. On our way back to L. A we decided to stop by on Black bear diner @ Los Banos area. Make the story short, when we got our order. The costumer on the other side(white folk) start to whine and complain that we got their food. And how come my group got the food first? But the fact is we got there first and got seated first. But our waitress stood up and told them politely that we got there first. She is very professional! I will defenitely come back and recommend the place!!!

Bad… Bad…Bad…my husband and I love BB from the bayso we thought we give LBBB a try and probably have the same experience…“NOPE!” Horrible service, food wasn’t hot, had to ask for coffee refill and didn’t like how team talks about personal problems out loud for customers to hear. Did a customer feed back to CORP and SM called back next morning. Since then I haven’t return and don’t think I will. I rather drive to Gilroy and give that location my business.

Poor air quality. There was a visible haze in the restaurant. Is the kitchen vented into the dining room? Had to go outside when the burning eyes and difficulty breathing became too much. Food was ok, nothing special. Would have enjoyed it more without all the flies constantly bugging us.

Been here a hand full of times, we’ve had to wait to be seated a few times but it’s worth it! We’ve had great service with our big groups of up to 10& also when it’s just my husband and I, They never disappoint! The biscuits and grave are the best around! & Chicken pot pies are delicious!

It’s kind of like a slightly more upscale Denny’s with a different theme. The service is usually good but the good has been mediocre on more than one occasion and the desserts, although beautiful to look at, are just plain not good. There are some good things, the French Dip is very good, but overall it’s just ok. In a town with more options I’d probably go as low as two or two and a half stars.

I’m from Southern CA and when we moved here I had never heard of a Black Bear Diner before. I was amazed to find they’re a chain. It’s okay. But we ate there once and haven’t returned. Not because of anything bad, just because we’d rather go to Chilis or drive out of town to The Olive Garden or Outback.

This place is great! Prices are very reasonable!!! The portions are huge and taste awesome! It’s a little off the road, but well worth the 10 min drive off the freeway! Service is great and speedy! Very pleasant place to have breakfast!

This Black Bear Diner is subpar compared to the locations in LA. Okay, I’ll say it… It is terrible. The food is awful. My server was rude. I ordered the meatloaf. My sister ordered the turkey dinner. BOTH plates were COLD! The gravy have jelly-like clumps in it. The mashed potatoes tasted like chemicals. The grilled vegetables were actually pretty decent. The cream of potato soup was cold as well. It was also clumpy and too sweet. It def lacked salt, flavor, and substance. This place is gross. If you are hungry, stick to a drive thru– even if you don’t want fastfood. TRUSTME on this one; you’ll thank me later.

I LOVEBEARS! I think they are ADORABLE(umm well maybe not so much in person?) and this place is filled with little pictures and statues of them. They even have a little Bear Habitat created outside. This was the first plus for me! We flew in for lunch and this place is right across from the Los Banos airport(note this is not a real airport but a small one where small private planes can land). The walk over was very convenient. The menu is extensive and they serve breakfast all day. I ordered the bacon wrapped stuffed chicken breast. It was 13.99 and came with two pieces of chicken, a large garden salad or soup, veggies and potatoes. I vetoed the potatoes got a double order of veggies. The meal was large and delicious. I really liked the chicken, it was stuffed with broccoli and bacon. The veggies tasted crisp and fresh. Overall I really liked this place. Probably one of my best diner experiences. I would say for the price point and for being a diner it is definitely worth it. They are opening one near our house in LA and now I am excited for it to open.
