We had all vegetarian dishes and enjoyed them! Garlic Noodles — the best dish of the night… so comforting and tasty, good as a base for the tofu dishes as well Vegetable Curry Noodles — also very good and more flavorful/complex than the garlic noodles Eggplant and Tofu — basic stir-fry with a nice flavor and sauce, good crunchy veggies Lemongrass Tofu — very similar to the eggplant and tofu dish, other than the strong lemongrass flavor(duh) lots of good crunchy veggies too Green Beans — nicely cooked and well seasoned Mango and Sticky Rice dessert — with condensed milk and tapioca, mmmmmmmmm! For four people all that food came out to $ 22/person including tax and tip. Not bad for a fancy meal out. Definitely not authentic Vietnamese food, but of course, as a fusion restaurant, it’s taking inspiration from Vietnamese food instead of following traditional recipes. It was a good meal and we enjoyed ourselves.

a clean, trendy Vietnamese place in downtown LG. we ordered the following, all of which was good: crab & avocado spring rolls korean bbq short ribs spicy lemongrass prawn soup beef phở tsingtao beer why not five stars? paying $ 16.50 for a bowl of beef phở & veggies(extra $ 2.50 for veggies) is higher than what we usually pay at clean phở mom & pop shops($ 7 – 9) that only lack in the trendy interior décor. why not four stars? we received the wrong order of rolls(duck instead of crab & avocado) & when we let the young female server know, she asked if we had touched/ate it. I was a little thrown off at her asking & unsure why that was even relevant? regardless of whether we touched it or not, they should throw it away/not serve it to the correct table nor charge us if we did touch it. wasn’t our mistake. maybe that’s just me!

Nice friendly place, good location, great service and not as insanely busy and messy as other Vietnamese restaurants in San Jose(I usually go to Phở Viet on 1st for lunch). Hanna’s is more expensive but the atmosphere is worth it. Will be back.

Good food but services is all about getting you in and forget about you… Please check in with you customers and pretend you care. Eye contact even if are not getting my gratitude is just an idea, after all you are representing the restaurant. Over 6 people came after us and got served before us. Really?!

3.5 stars to be exact. Decent food but excellent service. The wait staff we had were very pleasant and at tentative. The food was average. Nothing out of the ordinary but not bad either. Good place to stop for a quick meal

Go here if you want bland overpriced food pretending to be Vietnamese cuisine. On top of that they are understaffed all the time. The Chicken Phở was barely lukewarm. I sent it back to be heated up up and the reluctant waiter brought it back 15 minutes later… still lukewarm! I was excited when this place opened up in Los Gatos. now I am never going back.

We went in unplanned on a late Monday night since we were starving and the place seemed kinda empty and we hoped to get food sooner. It was about the slowest place I have been to in a long time. Appetizers were ok 1. beef roll was good 2. seafood potsticker was ok 3. crunchy calamari was saltyyyyy, actually I think i tasted MSG but i have no way of proving it. We ordered a beef phở, catfish in clay pot and friend rice. Again it took ages and everything was beyond salty. I had a strong feeling it was MSG since I have used that ingredient in my cooking when i didnt i know it was bad for people with Ashtma. So i know the after taste. But ofcourse i have no proof of it actually being used. 1. Reason for 1 star, the beef Phở. The noodles were all merged together in a ball, and the meat was like rubber. Chunks of hard non chewable slabs i could barely sink my teeth in. Not ok for a 15 $ bowl of phở. They tried to upsell«extra veggies» for $ 2 more, i am glad i refused because nothing could have saved that phở. The broth was decent but salty. 2. Catfish in clay pot: flavor was ok, but over salted 3. Fried rice was ok. As expected, woke up with a giant headache, which usually happens to me if I have too much MSG. Again, i have no proof other than a hunch but just thought i would put it in here for people like me who like to avoid MSG in their diet.

Wanted to try something different when in Los Gatos but food was mediocre for a place that’s trying for upscale. Food: 3, Service: 3.5, Atmosphere: 3.5 Cost to worth it rating: 2(apps ~$ 12, phở $ 14, shaking beef $ 23) Return worthiness: probably not for another meal but maybe for a crispy rolls snack Highlights: — Fried rolls: bumpy crispy on the outside with shrimp and crab inside. Best dish of the meal — Tamarind shrimp: well-cooked shrimp in tasty sauce. Almost Kung pao-y without the heat or nuts — Pork belly buns: no Chairman but still good though extra fatty — Pork ribs: tasty with a good amount of meat — Atmosphere: small and nice inside — Wine list: decent prices — Opentable-able: always nice to have that option Midlights: — Shakin beef: not bad but much better at other Modern Vietnamese restaurants like Xanh or Slanted door — Duck rolls: fun take on the traditional pork but the meat a bit dry — Sea Bass: ok. Tender but bit fishy and plain — Phở: average. Didn’t care for the flavor of the broth. Props for gluten free noodle options Lowlights — Short ribs: ok Korean type flavor but too tough — Beef onion rolls: also too tough but lacked flavor — No hard alcohol: only soju/sake cocktails and wine — Prices: though I don’t usually ding places for this I can agree with others that it’s a bit high for what you get Ok dinner but think there are better options for this type of food.

My wife and I were missing our Vietnamese fix for a long long time. Other places in the Bay have disappointed us so our expectations weren’t too high. Boy, we were blown away by the food! It is the STAR! Delicious, flavorful, simple and just right. Everything we ordered had the perfect flavor profile. Menu is not large which is how I like it. Try the claypot catfish if you want some bold flavors — it goes well with the fried rice. If you are a soup person, check out the spicy(«not so spicy») lemongrass soup. Loved it. Other than the food, everything else is okay. Service is short staffed but efficient. Get a reservation, this place is small and will get packed. Overall, I’ll recommend it and will come back

Place is fire. The vegetarian curry garlic noodles is one of those meals I would request right before I was executed. It is that good. The curry is sweet and spicy, vegetables are always crisp, and the tofu has the perfect flavor and consistency. I will continue to hit this place up as many times as I think I will get executed the next day.

My husband and I walked in by mistake but the décor looked inviting so we decided to give it shot. We were seated at a window table which was nice until other people started arriving and trying to get out of my corner proved difficult without touching the table of diners. There were about 12 people when we got there and we had to wait 10 minutes for menus because they oddly ran out of them. When I go to a new place, I always order at least one item per category to get a feel for the cuisine. So here goes; Appetizer: Spring rolls –ordinary. I normally like the fish sauce as it is lighter than the peanut sauce. However, it was too salty. Imperial Rolls-my hubby thought that combination of shrimp, crab and shitake mushrooms was appetizing. However, the rolls were soggy and bland. Beef carpaccio: Was so cold it had ice crystals. Mango Papaya Salad: dressing was too sweet Entrée: «Prawn» Curry: One of my pet peeves is that when it is about the size of a silver dollar, that is shrimp not prawns. Not enough sauce. This was my husband’s entrée and he was disappointed. Steamed Chilean Seabass with lemon grass in banana leaf with«mango salsa and soy vinaigrette» The flavor was not bad however, when one says«salsa» I expect it to be a mélange of ingredients that is a sauce because that is what salsa is! Instead what was served was pieces of under ripe mango, halved grape tomatoes, and cucumber cubes. The dressing was not soy vinaigrette but the same fish dipping sauce that was served with the spring rolls. The fish was about 2×4 inches, way too small for $ 30. We didn’t finish any of the entrees and took it home. When you are eating something whether it is spicy or sour, there has to be a finish to the taste– a punch, an umph which was certainly lacking in all the items we chose. I don’t mind paying for a good meal but this was a total disappointment. Any positives? The ingredients were Fresh but I could done more with it myself, The décor was nice and the service was fair. Would I come back again? No, overpriced for mediocre flavored cuisine.

The FOOD tastes 5 stars! I love the variety of food in this restaurant. They have fusion of all sorts of food, but the combinations of flavor I’ve never found anywhere else. My favorite: Vietnamese tacos, vermicelli noodle bowl(lunch menu, but can ask nicely during dinner), Korean BBQ, all of the spring rolls, lemongrass tofu… I can go on. I have eaten here multiple times now(as you can tell). Consider making a reservation during weekend dinners because they tend to be busy. Oh, and for those reviews complaining about the prices, if you can’t afford to eat out and fine dine, then don’t. Please don’t depreciate Hanna’s good tasting food.

Too bad the system would not allow me to give zero star. Just came back from a dinner at this place — we were looking for some place that serves noodle with hot soup for our kids. We ordered Phở with beef and mango tofu. The quality of the overall meal is ok, until my wife found a fly floating in the soup! We called the waiter and told him what we found. Ridiculously, he first tried to deny it and blame us for letting the fly dive in the soup. After we firmly told him that the fly was in the soup when the meal was served, he tried to offer us a replacement. Of course we all lost our appetite and wanted to leave. It is just shocking that this restaurant can pass health inspection. Be warned!

Food is fresh; flavors are unique and colorful, décor is calming. We split all the dishes, and I highly recommend that. We had the potstickers, spring rolls, a curry dish, and a crispy noodle dish. The crispy noodle dish was surprising; it didn’t feel heavy and most of the dish contained vegetables and tofu, rather than the noodles, which I love! Oh. The dessert was amazing! Tropical pudding. Get it. They have amazing beverages(I ordered the heart to heart… which has cinnamon and sake in it… delicious combination), and some other ladies I was with ordered the lychee martini(how many times do you come across a lychee martini?!). So very delicious. All in all, I will most likely be back!

Yesterday’s lunch at Hanna restaurant in Los Gatos. Service was attentive, polite, & knowledgable. There were 3 of us celebrating birthdays. We started with duck spring rolls delicious I will order them again. Next we shared grilled tofu, shrimp with vegetables, and crab with cream cheese wrapped in philo dough. I would go again everything was very good.

We were looking for something different for Father’s Day lunch so we chose Hanna. But upon arriving here, we realized we had been here before due primarily because of the small. The kitchen emanates a strong burnt odor similar to overly hot oil & aluminum cookware. The visual appearance of the dining area, though, is pleasant and its location on Santa Cruz is appealing. The meals were presented well without any hint of the burning odor dominating this establishment. We had mango chicken and salmon with green beans. The green beans seemed old and withered. We probably will not come back here.

3.5 Stars. The bistro is fairly small and modern-looking as its name advertises. I went in a group of 4 so I had the opportunity to try quite a few dishes. My conclusion is the appetizers are the best course. The main entrees are good but not exceptional. The desserts were good. Appetizers The soft-shelled crab was delicious. It is slightly crispy and had a nice crab flavor. The calamari was not as crispy as I would have liked but it was flavorful. I normally don’t like bell peppers but the bell peppers in the calamari had a sauce over it that make it slightly spicy and sweet. I found myself eating the bell peppers which is really unusual for me. The beef carpaccio was good too. Once again, the sauce really made it delicious. The crab puffs weren’t as flavorful as other crab wontons I’ve eaten but these were pretty good. Entrees I ordered the Beef Phở and requested the beef filet to be served on the side(so I could drop it in at the table to avoid overcooking it). The soup base was really flavorful and nice. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the raw beef was sliced very thin but the brisket was disappointing. It was sliced a little too thick and wasn’t tender so it tasted like dry cardboard. They should slow cook it a little longer(to make it tender) and slice it thinner which will also make it less tough. But overall it was tasty. A little pricy for Phở though($ 14). The Mango Chicken was too dry as well. I didn’t try it but my dinner companions had the shaking beef and the tamarind prawns. They liked their dishes a lot. Dessert The pudding was really good. It had coconut milk, coconut ice cream, jackfruit, pineapples and tapioca pearls. The banana flambé wasn’t what I expected. It tasted like they flambéed the sauce and then added the bananas at the end. The sauce was really good but I personally didn’t like that it was mixed with a oat-like cereal. A scoop of ice cream was on the side. I scooped out the sauce and poured it over the ice cream and that was delicious. I wish they served it that way instead of with the oat-like cereal. Hanna, the owner, was working the floor so she came over to check on us. She seemed nice. I like small businesses that have hands-on owners. The appetizers and dessert earned 4 stars but the entrees got a 3 star rating. Because of the personal touch by the owner, I’ll round up to give Hanna Bistro 4 stars.

Great food and cosy interior. A bit expensive. Modern Vietnamese fusion food! We got a couple of things and the bill was around 70 dollars. We ordered the steamed pork buns– good, The bbq short ribs — great. The crab puffs– loved it and lastly the pork tacos which were good but not great. The crab puffs and the ribs were my favorite.
