Julie and her staff are incredible, and the facilities are exceptional. I have had the opportunity to work with Julie multiple times to work on my fitness goals, manage my weight and increase my energy level. Julie gave me some excellent recommendations on how to achieve those goals. I have referred Julie to a number of my associates and clients, as well as helped her with a speaking opportunity at my company regarding healthy living. Julie and everyone at The New Basis are great! I was fortunate enough to workout with Julie, the owner, who is a Personal Trainer as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist!!! To start, Julie sat down with me not only to find out my goals, but also any limitations or concerns I may have had. Perfect, finally someone who actually cares to get to know me and what I need! It turns out she is the PERFECT trainer for me as I’ve had a stroke in the past with residual right sided weakness and I did have a hip replacement a few years ago!!! With the help of the New Basis, I was able to tone up, improve my balance and lose approx 20 pounds in less than two months!!! I love this place! I have trained with both Akari and Julie, and I love them both. I get a great workout, lots of encouragement, and accountability. I’ve never worked with a personal trainer before, and I expected harsh treatment, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I highly recommend The New Basis!

Going to work out has always been difficult for me. But I know I have to do it so I signed up for 4 sessions to try out The New Basis. Julie and her staff are absolutely amazing! They are full of enthusiasm and work hard to make your goals attainable. Julie goes above and beyond what any other training studio would do. I loved that she sits down with you for a first consultation session before you start your training to talk about you. What you want to work on, what your goals are, what is needed to achieve those goals, what the plans for your sessions are and more! There is even an on-site dietician who will work with you on your diet! Her and her team are dedicated to help you succeed, who wouldn’t want that? Julie is also really active in the community and gears up training for certain events(like marathons, etc) and hosts challenges for her clients like the Little Black Dress challenge. Her and her staff offer tons of support during and even after your sessions have ended to make sure you are still sticking to working towards your goals. Absolutely loved it at the New Basis and can’t wait to be back again!

I have had the privilege to have a consultation with Julie. I was very impressed with her knowledge in the area of injury recovery and prevention. In a short session she was able to assess how my posture was preventing me from being as strong and stable as I could be and was contributing to future injuries. Although I am still under a doctors care, when I am released to go back to working out, I plan on working with Julie to increase my strength and prevent injuries in the future. I got to participate in a push up charity with my kids at her lovely studio and my kids had so much fun they did not want to leave for their jujitsu class. If you have not had a chance to meet with Julie and see what she has to offer, I highly recommend having a free consultation with her and see if her personal training is a fit for you. Oh my gosh, I can’t say enough about Julie [the lead trainer] at The New Basis Studio in Los Gatos. I was looking for something that fit… you know, I want to work out, but not by myself and not in Cross Fit [sorry, not slamming, just not for me] and Julie is amazing. I love how I feel after a workout and can see and feel the difference. She makes me work harder than I would on my own yet I don’t feel like she’s killing me during our workouts. Getting older sucks and Julie has educated me on why I’m having the issues I have and I always look forward to our workouts. She’s the best and she truly cares about her clients. It shows in her«stability ball» side manner [play on words there. get it ‘bedside manner”?] Anyhow, if you’re looking for the right chemistry with your trainer, one who really cares about you as a whole person and not just the clock, then Julie is your gal. I’m starting the Little Black Dress challenge with her next. I’m so excited. Those are not words you would have heard me speak a few months ago! I’m hoping to get my hubby to start training with her too! Best thing I ever did!!!

Julie the owner of The New Basis is amazing. I set up a consultation with Julie after having an unpleasant consultation at another studio. Julie won my heart. She understood the journey I needed to embark on to lose weight and become stronger to keep up with my 2 young children. Julie knows how to kick your butt in your workout without you even knowing it is happening to you. Her background and experience in personal training mixed with her warm heart and counseling background is the perfect mixture for success. I like to think of Julie as my life coach rather than just a personal trainer.

Wow, I love this place! Julie, the owner and lead trainer, is an amazing(nationally certified!) personal trainer. She is super knowledgeable and knows how to give you a great workout but without injuring yourself. I have had a back/shoulder issue since I was in high school, and after only 1 training session a lot of my pain was relieved, and hasn’t come back(she’s also a corrective exercise specialist). The studio is spacious and equipped with the best equipment for functional training and it’s private, so you don’t have to work out in front of a lot of other people. Julie makes you feel immediately at ease and very comfortable, and so is much less intimidating than other gyms. I look forward to all my workouts, because she works with my personality and makes everything fun but challenging. You need to get over to The New Basis!
