This is hard! I like the equipment they produce, but whatever you do, you DONT want to have a problem. My experience is simple. I got the wrong part. It shows in there system that it was ordered a year ago. That would have been a neat trick, I didn’t own the gun a year ago. They showed two separate accounts, only one of which was me. their answer…“my problem, not theirs.“ I gotta say, I was pretty unimpressed with that answer. I’m 185.00 lighter do to computer problems at their end. Short version: Their products are great, their customer service is NOT great.

I wanted a trigger job and new sights on my M&P 45. I did my research on the web, and there are a few gunsmiths that specialize in the M&P, Apex included. I then talked to a local L.A. gunsmith who referred me to Apex. I called up, and I told them what I wanted, and then explained that I had a time constraint because of a training event coming up. They were more than willing to help me out to work within my time constraints. From a customer service aspect, Apex is excels. From my initial call, they were friendly. I then received a call telling me they were just about done but did I want an upgraded firing pin(btw, don’t get the impression that this was some major upsell or that there was any pressure to do this because there wasn’t – it was more informational, and he made a point to tell me the firing pin I had in was fine, but some people wanted the newer version). He told me the gun was done; they would just zero the sights later that day and ship back to me the next business day. So as far as customer service goes, you can’t ask for anything more – they were friendly, informative, helpful, and did everything they said they would do. Now as far as the trigger job is concerned, I’m equally happy with it. I love my M&P, but the standard trigger leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve put about 1,000 rounds through the gun since getting it back, and I have to say, it feels like a new(better) gun. The trigger is smooth, I feel the reset better, my shooting has improved(sadly, that is not a high enough bar to clear, but I keep working at it). The sights: I provided the Trijicon HD night sights and shipped to them with the gun. The price to install and zero the sights was very good(especially compared to a local gunsmith that had installed a previous set of sights). So sum up, the work done was was excellent; the customer service was excellent. I will be sending them my other M&P soon.

I can’t say enough good things about my first experience with Randy, Scott, and Lisa at Apex Tactical. I took in my thrashed 1911 today to have it evaluated and tuned up. Randy gave it a thorough once over and immediately gave me the good, the bad, and the ugly. I was presented with several options at each point along the way based upon my stated use/purpose of the gun. They were supper friendly on the phone and in person and were very easy to interact with. I wish that there were 10 stars so that I could give them 5 more. Amazing experience doing business with a business that is widely considered the best there is in the entire world. These guys humble the S&W Custom Shop guys when they meet in competition.
