Sylvester’s Burgers

Ate here for the first time, on a whim just Unilocaled restaurants in the area and wow! Amazing food great prices! Definitely coming back!

Today (6÷25÷16) is first time at Sylvester’s and all I can truly say is YUM! YUM! YUM!
I had Hana burger, sons had Texas Flip & Mushroom burger, our friend had the Blue. All four of us shared Garlic Fries, fried Zucchini & Onion Rings. One son had a root beer float, the other a strawberry shake. I’m not ashamed to state that I grotesquely indulged in some Yumminess. Great Yum burger experience indeed!
The Los Osos location is VERY roomy inside and out. The vibe is cool and comfy. The service is excellent.
We will definitely be back to indulge :))

I heard so many good things about this place, good reviews, Best of SLO. For me, it was just and overpriced fried unseasoned patty. Didn’t have that taste that I was looking for. The patty was over cooked as well, which didn’t do the flavor any favor. The décor is unique. If I come back I’ll try something else. There are a lot of things on the menu to choose from and I’d bet that there is a gem in there somewhere. The Habit burger is twice as tasty and half the price.

I can’t believe how amazing this place is! The burgers are huge for a good price and you can get anything you can think of on them! Vegetarians included! Plus, they offer a free burger on your birthday! They have a great outdoor patio to sit on and relax when you have overindulged. Worth the trip everytime!

If you love good burgers, Sylvesters is the place to be if you’re in Los Osos area. Although I’ve had much better burgers in my day, Sylvesters is still a safe choice that is good quality, offers lots of options (even buffalo and elf meat) and has a fun vibe to the restaurant. I have never had a burger I didn’t enjoy. If you like blue cheese, I recommend the buffalo burger.

Sylvester’s is a great burger joint to visit on the central coast. With a variety of different burgers, there’s at least one for everyone. From the classic cheeseburger to copious amounts of toppings to even vegetarian burgers, they have it all. My personal go to burgers are the heart attack and the flaming armadillo. The heart attack has bacon and a fried egg and the flaming armadillo has cream cheese and a ton of roasted jalepeños (pretty much a jalepeño popper burger). With options of 1/​3, ½, and a full pound patty, depending on how hungry you are, the burger will always make you satisfied. The fries and onion rings are also very good. I like the onion ring batter, it’s very light and fluffy. Be prepared for your hands to get kinda messy, but it’s okay, they have plenty of napkins and a special sink outside the restrooms for washing your hands!
Sylvester’s also has various beer specials on different days of the week. I’m not sure exactly what day, but there’s a $ 1 bud lite pints and also a $ 2 any pint day. The staff is very friendly and will not disappoint. Overall, a very great burger place and a must stop if your looking for a good quality hamburger.

Great burgers! Got a black and blue, with a turkey patty this time around. They just make a well rounded burger at an excellent price. Also had some garlic fries and the fried zucchini’s. Never had anything bad here!

They have a good pastrami sandwich, but it was a bit messy. The burgers looked tasty, and the service was great.

These guys kill it! Love the local atmosphere, the kid serving beers is cool too! Had the heart attack. Fully loaded. Was not disappointed. This is a staple for those craving a bomb burger. A must have for the central coast!

This is defiantly a hidden gem in my opinion. Every time we stay in Los Osos I can’t miss a chance eating here, if i had a choice i would eat here twice.
As much as i can i tell everyone they need to try this place.

Great turkey burger today. Huge portions. Could have easily split this burger and been totally happy. Three sizes of fries, we went for the medium portion and again it was too large for two of us. Loved the outdoor patio, the wash-​up stand, and the girls working there were super friendly. Will be back

Best burgers ever. I always stop here when I am in the area. Buffalo burger is amazing! Great options for vegetarians also. Fast service and quality food at a great price.

My go-​to place, always. That also includes the other locations. Burgers are amazing, and it’s the Sylvester sauce that puts it over the top. Atmosphere and staff are great. Whenever I’m near the area you can bet this is where I’m going to eat. Satisfied every time.

Sylvester’s taught me that I love chili cheese fries! Let me just start by saying that I am not a «hamburger person» — I usually don’t like them and don’t want them. But Sylvester’s changed my mind!!! I love there mushroom Swiss burger!!! I think they told me they sauté the mushrooms in a little wine so now that’s what I do when I cook mushrooms at home too. My family gets bacon cheese burgers or the heart attack burger. We all get shakes. The onion rings and seasoned fries are very good too but who has room for those when they have the best CHiLI CHEeSE FRIEs!!!
I live in L.A. But make it a point to come to Sylvester’s anytime I am on the Central Coast. Because it is sooooo gooood!
I was out in the area for only three days earlier this week and came twice! Soo tasty!!!
I went to the Sylvester’s in Oceano as well and it is also amazing. The food quality is the same.
The portions are large and I would recommend splitting a burger but no one would split with me because everyone wanted their own!

First time in Los Osos and since we were nearby, we decided to stop by because we were craving for burgers. I ordered the Heart Attack (which I highly recommend btw) and it was amazing. Only thing is that you’re going to need A WHOLE LOT OF NAPKINS because it was a messy burger– but because it was so delicious, it was worth it. He waitress was very nice as well. I love the atmosphere bc it gave that homey-​diner feeling especially with all their customers’ photos on the walls. Loved this burger joint, definitely coming back soon!

Lots of good choices: Blank n Blue burger, onion rings and garlic fries all top notch. Nice patio and very friendly staff.

Everything here is massive. I love it.
Garlic fries: Love garlic. Love fries. Big portion for sharing. Bomb.
Orange float: Super bomb. Multiple scoops of vanilla ice cream and orange soda. Creamsicle anyone?
Heart Attack: I ordered 1/​3lb sans cheese, and it was one of the most enjoyable burgers I’ve had in a long, long time. Bomb diggity.
I would not have known about this place had it not been for my alum friends from Cal Poly. I’m craving a burger now just thinking about it. When will I see you again, Sylvester?!

Fantastic burgers, huge, juicy, not for the faint of heart or vegetarian/​vegan bunch. Great beef flavor, they don’t over cook the meat, comes in three sizes, 1/​3, ½, and full pound patties and for the gluttonous there is a five lbs burger (call your cardiologist and set up your other Drs appointment as well before hand). The staff is great, friendly, courteous, knows their stuff. If you come at lunch there will be a crowd, at 1150 the place had a few folks, at 12 noon it was packed, folks were regulars cause they already knew the set up. Don’t miss the opportunity to try these burgers, you will not be disappointed and you will be full !!!
Ps: the garlic fries are a must and the mushrooms also !!!

They have THE BEST MUSHROOM BURGER around! This is a MUST!
This is one of those hole in the wall restaurants that you only know about by word of mouth. It’s located right in front of a few lucky people’s houses in the middle of some neighborhood. Place is small, but once inside you see all of the cool pictures of customers on the walls and ceiling. I almost always order the Mushroom Burger with a side of deep fried mushrooms or garlic fries. Sometimes I get the Heart Attack Burger if I really want the fried egg and avocado. The mushrooms are cooked in a garlic wine sauce which tastes amazing! When the burger is served, there’s literally so much that it doesn’t even fit on the burger. They definitely give you your moneys worth of savory delicious goodness.
Note* These burgers are huge and messy. This is not some fancy gourmet burger. So get your napkins ready, use your hands, and dig in!
The deep fried mushrooms are the best I’ve had. They fry it perfectly so it’s crisp on the outside but juicy on the inside. Their garlic fries are pretty bomb too. It’s served with a lot of minced garlic so you have enough in every bite. Also, their shakes are really good too. It has chunks of real fruit and the metal refill cup is like ²⁄₃ full too so you get a lot!
Overall, this place is bomb! If you want an amazing burger that is more worth it than any burger you’ll ever get at this price, Sylvester’s is the place to be. The staff is super friendly and fun. Give this place a try and you’ll instantly fall in love!
