Easy to rate this one. Although there is the need for zero star rating. The worst mexican you’ll ever eat. Unless you like completely tasteless, microwaved food. You would be better off going to the gas station and buying yourself a can of beans and a bottle of tapatio… 1st off, try some salt and pepper in your food. 2nd off, sack up and buy a hood for your grill. You CANNOT own a mexican restaurant with out cooking your food on site. The only thing that is actually«cooked» here is the quesadilla, which is actually steamed!!! WTF!!! Once again, if owners would simply taste their own food, they would find out why no one comes there. Sure the décor and atmosphere is delightful, but your food sucks! Stop serving food… Simple. If you want at least 2 star Mexican food, go across the street to Aguas Blancas.

Great place to get some food after the hard day in the river(Rafting). :) Clean, easy to order, tasty food. I’ve got my Westeast salad and this was huge and yummy! I’ll definitely come here again!

Food is not what you would expect for Mexican food. Good options, fresh ingredients, and fast. They have beer and margaritas so it is great after a hot day. Things to know: 1) Discount coupons available at the photo shop. 2) Nachos are huge. 4 of usage a meal of this. 3) Air conditioning inside. Great find after rafting on the river. 4) Live music some evenings. 5) They have wifi, but it was VERY slow. 6) Great for groups or kids. Lots of seating inside and out.

Not sure if these people have ever had Mexican food. Open a can and serve it. Hard to have bad Mex but this place does.

Stopped in on a Monday evening, place was empty. We ordered the combo plates, enchilada and a taco with rice and beans. We got no chips, the meal was small for the price they charged. Left feeling hungry…

Friendly staff. Nice spacious cool place to rest and grab a bite. My boys were happy with the monster burrito. Huge! They shared. I ordered the one item plate enchilada with a corn tortilla. I received a flour tortilla instead. I received a rolled up soft taco with sauce. We all did enjoy lunch and it was great to rest after our long hike.

Well, it wasn’t terrible but far from great. Honestly, l left with a stomach ache, which I rarely get. The tacos were good, the burrito not so great. Also, got some bean and cheese burritos for the kids at $ 4.95 each and they were just barely big enough to fit in your hand, and they didn’t like the refried beans, which once I tasted I could see why. They were straight from a can. We love Mexican food, so we probably won’t be headed back there anytime soon.

Nice spacious interior, simple seating outside. Staff was very friendly. Ordered Nachos, which was barely average, oops, will not order again. Draft beers were refreshing. Overall nice experience, just don’t get nachos. Will come again to try something else to eat, will recommend to friend. 3 and half stars for friendly staff. Thank you.

We had carnitas enchiladas combo and a huge shredded beef burrito. Both were very good and the prices were reasonable. Service was great. They have recently revamped their menu and changed some recipes so if you’ve been here before I suggest you try it again to see what has changed. We found everything to be very fresh and on the healthier side of Mexican food. We will definitely recommend and return.

Just posting now: We visited sometime in the summer while on a rafting trip. Pros: their chips are good. The guy behind counter even offered extra chips for no extra fee. Cons: they pour their guac FROM A TUBE. Yum. The burritos were not memorable. Two stars for chips and service. Zero stars for being outclassed by even Chipotle on the guac.

This place is pretty awesome, especially considering there’s not much around. We got 4 great burritos! Cool classic rock vibe, and healthy customizable burritos(a la chipotle, or a Mexican Subway) The mango salsa is delicious, the black olives are delicious, the 3 different hot sauces are delicious esp frank’s red hot, and the meat is moist and flavorful. My only suggestions are: 1.the lettuce is that lame shredded white lettuce. Meh. 2. I would have gotten a burrito bowl/salad instead of a burrito(put burrito ingredients in a bowl instead of in a tortilla), but they didn’t appear to offer that and I didn’t want to ask for something complicated.

Wow, very and truely sad to even categorize this as «Mexican Food». Let’s take an important mexican staple — rice and beans for example, these were probably the most poor excuse for rice & beans I have ever come across. There so called hot salsa is sweeter than it is spicy. The flavor can be compared to a very bland frozen dinner from your local frozen food section. Everything seems to come out of a can or a box. Overall very sad…

Gringos is located in a commercial plaza very close to where a number of white water rafting companies are located, and the launch site for the same. In fact, we stopped here for lunch before our rafting trip. The food is ok and the portions are quite large. In fact, I had enough sharing the two-taco plate with someone. One hint: Ask for less cheese. One friend ordered a quesadilla and it looked like a half-pound plus of cheese ended up in there. Staff was very friendly, and they do serve beer and shots here. Probably makes this an ideal pre or post-rafting trip stop.

The name of this joint pretty much sums it up: It’s «Mexican» food for Gringos! Stopped by this spot late Saturday afternoon after a day of rafting. Exhausted and waiting for our rafting photos to be found, we needed to refuel with some grub. Burritos in Lotus, CA? Sure, why not! The staff there was friendly enough and prices were decent. Beer was available for the drinkers, and even better, the birthday boy got free tacos! Prices were reasonable for the rest of us(menu and prices available on their website)…and portions were pretty big… especially the Loco Nachos! So why only two stars? Because the food wasn’t all that great. Being from the Bay Area, I’m accustomed to eating good burritos… especially at the taco trucks along the E14th corridor(or even at Chipotle!). My Mondo Burrito in a bowl(more like a plate) was hardly impressive. Worse yet, the limited options for meat. What kind of Mexican food establishment doesn’t serve carne asada!!! No pollo asado either?! Only shredded beef and shredded chicken(see boiled) in addition to the carnitas that doesn’t really taste like pork! I would hardly consider this Mexican food, but maybe for the folks in the Coloma and Lotus area who haven’t had quality Mexican grub(see«gringos»), this is bomb-ass food! Meh.

Tired and hungry after a day of rafting. Thank goodness I didn’t have to drive after eating here. Dropped in with a group of 12 to order up some food after the super mediocre lunch provided by the rafting company. Not a single complaint from anybody in our party regarding the food. The service was a bit slow though. Ordered a combo plate with rice, beans, chicken enchilada and a carnitas taco with a shocktop beer. There was absolutely nothing left 5 minutes later. Great spot to drop in for a bite while waiting for your rafting photos to be processed by the photo company in the same plaza.

Wet chicken burrito was FOUR thumbs up(me and my girlfriend). The people were really great with us, and this was a fantastic way to get something filling and delicious after an afternoon of rafting. The environment is a little funky with all the Bob Marley music and paraphernalia on the walls(c’mon, in a Mexican restaurant?) Well, okay, so the wet burrito made up for it. I can only recommend the burrito. The beef tomales I had were average. The wet chicken burrito my girlfriend got was so huge that it fed us that evening and also was breakfast the next morning.

I stopped here with friends after an awesome day of tubing on the river. This isn’t the best Mexican food but the ingredients were fresh and my carnitas taco hit the spot. Their chips and salsa were the best though: really crunchy and really spicy. I would definitely come back here again after a few hours on the rapids, and check out that margarita machine!

First clue something is wrong: It is a Saturday Night and the place is empty. Second Clue something is wrong: They advertise«fresh» but when you order a taco salad they dig stuff out of the fridge: chicken that is labeled 5 days old and strange looking, dressing that looks old and Gray, lettuce that is tired looking. Beer was cold. My other half had tacos which were ok, but the corn tortilla was steamed, so it fell apart.

It’s food out of the M-I-C-R-O-W-A-V-E! I give it a single star only because there’s a roof.
