An Irish dive bar. YESPLEASE! I swear I had already reviewed Patrick’s seeing as it’s my favorite local watering hole. I was shocked and disappointed in myself for not doing this sooner. What can I say about Patrick’s…it’s a good time bar with cheap drinks, awesome bartenders(Pete & Andy are the bee’s knees!), karaōke every Friday and Saturday night, pool tables, TVs, a golf arcade game and pinball, a huge covered back deck, a decent sized front porch, hilarious bathrooms, and a great old school feel complete with an old wooden bar. There are vintage pictures hung everywhere from the Beatles to Marilyn Monroe. Lots of nostalgia behind the bar too like the old stain glassed Patrick’s sign and the Budweiser horse and cart. I gave Patrick’s a great rating because it’s always my go-to place for hanging with friends and meeting new people. Anything pretty much goes here. Very laid back. When it’s not a karaōke night there are usually good tunes playing or a game is on. They don’t have any food other than chips and popcorn, but they don’t care if you bring in your own grub or have a pizza delivered. Just be sure to treat the boys to a slice. ;) And then there is FABD next door so you can grab something to eat before or after your visit. Everyone I’ve ever brought to this crazy place has loved it. The crowd is always eclectic ranging from regulars and local yocals, to the young hipsters, to the 30s, 40s and 50s crowd. Come one. Come all!

Super neighborhood bar with a jovial bar tender named Joe. Cold, cheap beer. Comfortable bar stools. Good AC blowing at just the right temperature. And the best part is they are dog friendly.

So I finally ventured into Patrick’s because it isn’t far from my house and my friend has a fondness for karaōke. This place is like a time warp. Undoubtedly it has not changed much over the many years it has been there. It has a few pool tables and a really nice back patio. Once the karaōke got going it started to get really busy in there too. People were friendly and the drinks are strong. There’s a shower curtain instead of a door in the bathroom so that sucks. There’s some TVs and a golf game in the bar too. The karaōke was fun to watch and I love a good dive bar so I will be back.

I like this place. Its definitely a dive bar but it’s fun. Tv’s for sport watching, pool tables, karaōke 2x weekend, and good strong drinks that won’t send you to the poor house. Some cheap bagged snacks are available if you get hungry, or you can eat next door at the FABD. The clientele is varied, but friendly. It’s a laid back atmosphere and I always a good time.

A hole-in-the-wall with 2 pool tables, TVs, karaōke on the weekends, awesome staff, and cheap, stiff drinks. No, the bathrooms aren’t much, but how much time do you need to spend in there?

Simple neighborhood type bar. No more, no less. Lots of regulars and usually quite a few nuts. Alcohol flows very freely here. Large back area. 2 pools tables as well as many regular tables to sit at. Few pin ball machines and 2 video type games on the bar. Everyone from upper class, to the bottom of the barrel frequent here. No real food, just bags of chips, pretzels. Many people order from FABD next door and bring it in. Also quite a few pizza deliveries. Karoke is an unfortunate addition on Friday nights. This usually brings quite a few undesirables to the area from barely 21 year olds to complete loosers who think they can sing– fairly pitiful. Just avoid the Late night Friday Karoke(starts 10ish to 11ish) and it’s ok. Would be nice if the owners would relinquish their prime seats at the bar to accommodate patrons. Just good practice, but not gonna happen.

I came here with some friends during my last visit to Louisville. The bar service was friendly and fast and the drinks affordable. The bathrooms aren’t the greatest what with their shower curtain«doors», but the back patio is really nice. There was karaōke the night I was there, if that’s your thing. It isn’t mine, but it wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t talk, so I was ok with it. I had a good time catching up with old friends and I’d go back if I still lived in Louisville.

Well I guess you know when you are entering a pit vs a dive bar when the bartender that just ended his shift is outside drunk and on his back. We just finished having a great rib dinner at Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot and Smokehouse next door. It seems that the bartender had no love from the staff since only some of the bar fly customers cared enough to yell at him and tell my wife and I to go ahead on in. Well the one bartender seemed okay enough and the other was phoning it in. I have to say the Men’s room had he strongest odor of urine ever. Weird thing I wish I could post a photo of was the toilet stall. They have a leopard print plastic shower curtain that pulls in front of the toilet for privacy and instead of shower curtain rings they used zip ties. Best advice for drinks stay at the Smokehouse and have some great food.
