I love good bbq and this was definitely not good. The pulled pork was so dry it was crunchy. The ribs were decent at best, not great. The side of bread was a dry piece of bread — not toasted or buttered. Poor selection of sides and the sides we got were dry and tasteless. Of all the bbq I’ve tried this was at the bottom of my list. Very disappointing.

Eaten at the original in Durango many times, Always good. I know this is the same ownership just not run the same way. The portions are terribly small here(the pics on here are definitely solicited), the«Kids» that work here are much more interested in their text messages than they are working and the place is Always Filthy. Last visit was a Wednesday, Spud night. Wife just had to have it. This potato was so hard it broke the plastics trying to cut into it.3 days old or cooked for 3 days, ridiculous. 3 times at this location is enough. We’ll get our fix next time in Durango.

Friendly service and good food. The atmosphere is rustic and just what a BBQ shack should be. The brisket was great today as well. Tender and tasty.

Sometimes I wonder if restaurants realize that they’re providing a service and are compensated with cash. The counter people here are zeros the food was fair. Their are too many options we won’t be back

I honestly cannot get past the bad front counter experience in order to comment on the food. I ordered a sandwich and asked to forego the cranberry-salsa. Unfortunately, the attendant had already put it on the sandwich — she scrapped the top part of the bun and we continued on. My husband ordered a sandwich after me and the cashier told the young man that he was using two bottoms of the bun instead of a whole bun. He looked at her and said«that’s how we roll» — — so my husbands sandwich was made of two bottom pieces of the bun. I’m guessing they feel justified since I changed my mind on the salsa, however I will not return.

I love Bar-B-Q…and I have a lot of it while in Texas… but this place was HORRIBLE. First, let me say that the work staff personnel were all very nice and helpful, and the place was very clean… however…their sauce is a joke… tasteless and runny… the meat was dried out… we had turkey and pork… and the cheese potatoes… what a joke. microwaved and horrible as well. I will never go back to this place.

Had a brisket sandwich. It was okay, nothing special though. Expected some great BBQ, but it was like a fast food BBQ sandwich. It was very busy, parking was a mess. All in all, I would not go back, but it filled my belly.

Stopped here for lunch and I got the turkey sandwich. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich. We both got a side of cheesy potatoes. The meats and BBQ sauce were excellent! The sandwiches were big with generous portions of tasty meats. The turkey was the best smoked turkey I’ve ever had. My friend loved the pulled pork. The cheesy potatoes appeared to be diced baked potatoes with real melted cheese. Simple and rustic. I liked the potatoes just fine. My friend expected something more elevated and passed on her potatoes to me. Anyway, we are headed back for lunch tomorrow. Might give the coleslaw a try.

Pretty good barbecue, but not the best, but it’s up there with the good ones. I came on buck-a-rib night and had eight ribs, and a quarter pound each of brisket and sausage. You walk up to the counter and place your order and pay for it there. My table had very spicy barbecue sauce on it, so the food was good, but very spicy. All in all, I’d say that this place is great on Mondays if you like ribs!

Started in Durango I first tried it there. I have made two trips from Washington especially to eat their food. I bring a cooler and freeze twenty or thirty Texas tacos and take them back home to family. We use their bbq sauce year round. If you like good food nice views and friendly staff give them a try. Oh and these restraints are clean and family friendly.

Not very good BBQ by far. I was very disappointed in the brisket and thats one of my favorite things. The blackberry cobbler was good but the rest was sub-par to say the least.

Have been to this place several times & always get the brisket sandwich. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the quality is not consistent. Some times the brisket is nice & lean, other times, it tends to be fatty. Tonight, the slices of brisket included slices of nothing but fat. If you like fatty meat, this is a good place to go. I don’t happen to care for it, hence the two stars. Tonight was my last visit.

Great BBQ. The 4 stars is for my personal taste, because the brisket is pretty fatty(which I don’t prefer), and the sausage and beans are spicy without alternatives. I also wish they had some veggies like collard greens.

It was a place to eat, is about it. The pulled pork sandwich had good flavor. But I haven’t been impressed with any BBQ place I have tried, whether in Texas or anywhere else.

Stopped here on Saturday and had a the beef brisket sandwich and a beer. It was awesome! Wow, that hit the spot! Next time I pass through this area on the way to a camping trip we are definitely stopping here.

When I’m feeling nostalgic for central Texas bbq, I head to this restaurant in north Loveland. The place has the feel of bbq places in Texas with the décor. The food is all good. I avoid all of the sauces except the hot one. I usually have turkey, but the pork, beef, and ribs are also excellent. If you’re missing Austin or College Station since you moved to Colorado, check this place out. Have a Lone Star!

Serious Texas BBQ caught my eye, mostly on account of the words«Texas» and«BBQ» being advertised on the same sign. In Colorado. Not much to write about here, but I will say that the smoke ring was alright, surprisingly comparable to a Texas ring. Unfortunately, the moistness and tenderness were lacking – the brisket had the«crumb» effect, if you know what I mean. Maybe there’s something in the drier air in Colorado, but you just can’t get the same quality ‘cue outside Texas… at least when you are speaking about brisket. I will agree that you can get phenomenal pork ribs outside of Texas, but perhaps not in Colorado.

We stopped in on a Monday, which is conveniently $ 1 rib night! I am a big fan of ribs, so this was right up my alley. You can choose exactly the number you want, with or without sides, and it’s served up quick and easy. The atmosphere/décor is casual and comfortable, yet modern, a step up from the typical BBQ dive. The look is warehouse-ish, but it’s not cold. There are some photos of famous people who have dined here, and some fun stickers and old-timey ads. We were visiting family in town, so they advised us on some of their favorites. All were right on the money. The ribs were excellent! They were large, meaty and tender. The meat was just ready to fall off the bone.(I can’t imagine them being described as dry as in another review I read!) The flavor was so good there was no need for additional sauce. D had a brisket sandwich, which he was happy to find had plenty of flavor and charred bits. He really liked the hotter of the two sauces available as a complement. We also tried the sausage, which was very good as well. For a taste of that at a good price, get the sausage roll, served in a tortilla. Sides were fine. We only tried the coleslaw(just as we like it, no mayo and on the spicy side) and the cheese potatoes. Those were average. Staff were friendly, and seemed to be having a good time. That’s always a good sign. We left with that smoky aroma trailing after us.

Come here for the brisket and the desserts, because that is what rocks. Tender, cut-with-a-fork brisket that melts in your mouth, followed up by some hot pecan pie or blackberry cobbler a-la-mode. The sausage is too dry, the pulled pork is more like chopped pork, and the ribs are OK but not«falling off the bone» tender.

I absolutely loved this place and cannot believe that it only has 3.5 stars. The atmosphere is great. All of the signs and décor are awesome. The second you walk in and smell that delicious, smokey BBQ smell, you know you’re about to have a good meal! The staff was friendly and helped us out quickly. They also made some suggestions. I got the sweet tea — so good. I’m a sweet tea fien. For lunch, I had the texas sausage — again, so delicious! Had a little kick to it on the spicy side but nothing crazy. Just wakes up your taste buds a bit. I also got a side of cheesy potatos. If you’re into melty, cheesy, buttery goodness all over some potatos, then you should try them. My boyfriend had the beef brisket. It was a tad try but had such good flavor! So with a little bit of their BBQ sauce it was perfect. I will definitely be back here!
