Wanted to try something new and not go to my usual Subways for a sub so I came here with one of my friends. Everything was so overpriced! I ended up just ordering a steak and cheese sub for my boyfriend one day and it wasn’t really what I was expecting. I was expecting a hot sub, but it was more like cold/warm sub(they added lettuce and tomatoes). This place is a bit pricey for a ‘pizza/sub’ place. Most likely never coming here again. Sandwich King is a much better place! Update: I have drove by recently and it is now closed and replaced by Angelina’s!

Awesome food all around. I usually get the meatball sub and Cajun fries. Never disappoints. This place hasn’t changed since the day it opened(except for the addition of lottery). Pizza is good and the pasta is good too. I’ve been eating here for almost 20 years(a lot less now that i don’t live local anymore).

I’ve driven by several times and finally decided to stop in and try the food. I was craving spaghetti and it just happened to be their Wednesday special. The meat sauce was sweet with a touch of something like cinnamon or nutmeg? Definitely made for a unique marinara unlike anything else I’ve ever had. Their menu is huge for such a little stop with tons of different meal selections, but the price to quantity ratio is quite high. You could probably eat the sausage sub and get your full calorie count for the entire day and then some. I believe they take credit/debit cards, which I can’t say for a lot of places similar to this around the area. If you’re looking for a diner or dive with a unique spin on some italian classics, stop in and check them out!

My rule of thumb. Never eat at the place named Captain’s. A few of my co-workers ate there for lunch and all had complaints about the food. One worker missed our afternoon meeting because of his lunch. I will not go into the details on that.

NOTE: Captain Jason’s CLOSED and was replaced by Angelina’s Pizzeria. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — ORIGINALREVIEW3.75STARS: I like the name of this place, Captain Jason’s, which is a very old school restaurant and pizzeria, in business since 1977. I do have several friends that go by Captain, I meant Jason, hehe. The inside of this very casual eatery looks as though it hasn’t been updated since it opened over 30 years ago. I do enjoy places which preserve the retro 1970’s vibe and«old time» classic atmosphere, sort of reminds me of Poor Pierre’s over in Nashua. The restaurant itself is very cozy, crammed with booth seating up in front, old tile floors, and an order counter in the back with a big old menu board. The menu offerings include pizza, Italian dinners, salads, sandwiches, subs, fried seafood, fried chicken, fried appetizers, and cold drinks. Beer & wine available and Mass Lottery/Keno is played here. See the menu, prices, specials, and coupon offers at I stopped in here to get some takeout. I printed a coupon off the website for a Fish(haddock) & Chips Dinner for $ 6.95, reg price is $ 8.45, which they honored, a great deal! I also had a Slice of Cheese Pizza($ 1.80) to eat in while I waited for my fish & chips dinner. The pizza slice was pretty good had a firm crust with the right amount of cheese and sauce. The food was ready fairly quick. The Fish & Chips Dinner was a right sized portion of food with 4 golden battered fish pieces, lightly fried fries, cup of chilled creamy & sweet cole slaw, and bread & butter. The pieces of haddock were really good and very fresh(skin left on the fish, a good source of Omega-3)and the batter coating outside was very greasy. I was given some Miracle Whip(sweet mayo) instead of tartar sauce. Overall, the food was pretty good and tasty.(3.75 stars) DISCOUNT: 10 percent off for senior citizens and UMass Lowell Students(with ID) HOURS: Mon-Sat: 11AM-8:30PM; Sun: CLOSED
