These guys have earned an extra star for me, because service has been consistent since my last review.
As I mentioned in my last review, I left my last mechanic about two years ago due to some bad practices. I would be misquoted over the phone (I’d get one price, then when I called to schedule work, suddenly the price would jump up); the «we did the work, but turns out we didn’t» debacle was the last straw for me. Here, I know that what I’m quoted is what I’m going to pay.
What I appreciate the most is how my bills are itemized. They will shop around for the best price. They will write out exactly what will be used for my job, and the price associated with it, before I bring my car in. If a big job is going to be done (like finding out yesterday I need all of my brakes replaced), I am shown exactly what’s wrong on my car, and what needs to be done. Quote by me: «I have no idea what I’m looking at right now, but it looks bad.» I put a lot of trust into what they recommend, because I know it’s an honest recommendation for work that will keep my car running smoothly.
Another thing I love is how quickly I’m in and out. If I’m getting an oil change, I can drive up and I’m in and out in no time. Yesterday, I hit a nasty pothole which blew out my tire and scratched my rim. I was told to bring my car down (got it there at 11AM), and it was ready for me to pick up first thing this morning. I know I can expect the same when I bring my car back to get my brakes fixed; the service will be prompt, and affordable.
I have to say, this is a place I can see myself going to for a long time. I know my business is appreciated (and saw that in a lovely card sent out by the family to me late last year thanking me for my patronage!), I know that I am not being nickel and dimed, and I know I can expect consistent and quality service to my «baby» (my car). It’s in safe hands here, and I always recommend them when friends are looking for a mechanic.

The crew at Middlesex Tire & Auto are the most honest in the business. I have to disagree with earlier reviews about pricing– they have always given me the absolute best price to keep my old car running. In fact, the first time I went there with car trouble I was convinced they were over charging me (as every other repair shop has since I clearly know almost nothing about cars) so I took a couple of my huge, ex-​military co-​workers with me (one of whom was an army mechanic) to talk about why it was going to cost so much and upon inspection, they informed me that any other place would have charged at least 1.5x what this place was! Over the years they’ve replaced side mirrors, my exhaust system and numerous other problems that had me convinced I was going to have to junk my vehicle, and each time done so at a price that never broke my very small bank account. They are willing to call around and find cheap replacement parts and give you the best customer service, even dropping me back off at work while they fixed my car. Highly recommended.
