Tutto Bene

This store is great if you’re looking for a nice wine and some good pairing suggestions. It would 5 stars but I went by today, Friday, at 12:30. Their hours on the door are posted that they are open, they even have an open sign in the window, but the door is locked and no one is in the store. I knocked and no one answered. I understand that they may have gone to lunch, but they should post something in the window saying so. It’s unprofessional and frustrating because I drove over here to support a local business, and I have no way of knowing if it’s worth my time to wait around.

Obsessed with this place! — Great wines and great cheese and the staff is great and always willing to help out and answer questions and give recommendation’s. I was a away for a year and had a wine and cheese party to go to for my boss and they remembered me which was great — makes you feel part of the community — grabbed my doubleback and cheese and all were a hit at the party

What a find in downtown Lowell! Don’t be fooled by the painting area above that is on the main road but walk around back to where the canal is and you’ll find it is not just a wine and paint place but a true wine cellar! The people were so friendly (because I was lost I called to find them) and made sure I knew where wines were located. I was able to pick up a gift certificate for a holiday gift with no problem and see a large selection of wines available. I will definitely be going back to check out a tasting or to pick up a bottle of wine.

Great wines! Great cheeses and other specialty foods to pair with your wine. THere are different tastings that happen quite regularly. Even if there isn’t a formal tasting, you can sample wines. The owners are really passionate about their business and are committed to making each shopping experience great.

I love this wine cellar. It’s a bit hidden, but that makes it even more special. The owners are really nice and know what they’re selling. They have a wide selection of either affordable or expensive wines and they’re not snobby when you’re looking for something a bit cheaper than the norm. Also– they have a great cheese selection! I’ll definitely buy from them again!

I love, love this place! It’s an awesome concept and I’m so happy the owners decided to offer instructional painting. Everyone is friendly and so welcoming! They put you at ease and make you feel as though you are free to express your inner artist. The instructors are great, they know how to go with the flow of the class… slowing down, giving examples, positive reinforcement, etc. Plus you get to taste wine while you paint and it’s available to purchase at a special rate. I’ve always wanted to learn how to paint but because I’m an adult, I’ve felt intimidated to even try… not anymore! Amazing and inspiring experience!

Obsessed with this place! Makes me feel like I’m in Europe! Great selection of wine, which aren’t too expensive, and the staff are so nice! I’m obsessed with their blue cheese stuffed olives. My only complaint and it’s extremely minor is that they don’t have a selection of RBGH free/​hormone free cheese if you’re looking for it. If not they have a decent selection of cheeses. The last time I went I got myself their own cheese spread which contained Parmesan, olive oil, and some spices, and it was so amazing. Do yourselves a favor and check this place out!

Such a hidden gem in Lowell, MA. My boyfriend and I love to pop in when we are in the area, and sometimes make the trip and purchase wine for special occasions. They carry a vast selection of imported wines and some from the US. It is very clean, organized and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Tutto Bene also often offers wine tastings, which is a fun way to spend an afternoon and try new things. This Christmas I will definitely be stopping in for some fine cheeses, chocolates and gifts!

I am the 12^th person to give this place five stars. Stores like this improve downtown Lowell, Ma and keep it more vibrant.

Before I knew of this place’s existence, I would drive to Andover to a place called The Vineyard. And while that place has a great selection of wines and even includes a meathouse, Tutto runs circles around it. Why is that you ask? Let’s talk about charm for a second shall we? I mean this place is loaded with charm, the cellar look, the smells, the cheeses, the friendly and knowledgable staff. Just gorgeous.
This place is a gem, and it has now become a full-​fledged family member. Love that it is located right here in Lowell.

Tutto Bene is such a wonderful place — I certainly hope they stay here forever. Not only do they have an amazing selection of very affordable, wines, but they are also capable of giving great advice of the «What should I have with [insert tonight’s main course]?» variety — every time the wine ends up tasting great and being a perfect pairing to the meal.
They also have amazing refillable olive oil (Greek and Italian varieties) and balsamic vinegar — the first time you pay a few dollars more, and then just keep coming back with the empty bottle and paying less for truly delicious stuff. (The balsamic is absolutely to die for, in spite of being on the sweet side.)

When the space occupied by Tutto Bene was being built out for the store, I was convinced that the folks building the business must have sipped a bit too much canal water. It was the oddest place for a wine and cheese shop in downtown Lowell, facing the canal, accessed through a passage way, rather than on the street. Well, this is Lowell and I was wrong. I’ve been here several times, the business is a success, and am thrilled to know I can go to Tutto Bene to meet my wine needs.
The shop emulates some of the neighborhood wine shops I enjoyed when I lived in the SF Bay Area. Its been challenging moving to the Commonwealth and living with its puritanical liquor laws. So, Tutto Bene is a little slice of my former home, Lowell style. The staff has turned me on to some fabulous Italian and Spanish varietals and are able to match your tastes to what they have in stock. I was amazed when one of their staff offered to get a few bottles of wine I liked from a small winery in California to satisfy my yen for an old favorite and give it a try on their shelves. Now that is customer service!
If you can find your way to this little corner of Prescott Street, it will be well worth your while!

Somebody needs to thank these people for bringing the best Italian food, and now a great little wine cellar to downtown Lowell. Granted what Peter Rollins actually knows about wine could fit in the flask of rotgut whisky he carries around with him in public. But still the space is, for lack of a more manly word, adorable. They sell several kinds of fine cheeses, a few Italian meats and olive oil and balsamic vinegar among other things. It’s location, about 80 feet off the downtown beaten path, tucked alongside the canal may not help them with the walk-​by crowd but it gives you a real sense of discovery and adventure as you make your way there!
They offered free samples and even Peter, who really doesn’t drink wine, found himself buying a bottle. I’d love to be able to just hang out in this space for an evening! This place is definitely worth checking out if you like wine, cheese, both or neither! Oh yeah, one more thing, be sure and tell ‘em Peter Rollins sent you!

Great new addition to Lowell! My husband and I will definitely return here often. I love that they carry a lot of «cheaper» wines ($ 8-​$ 15 range). We haven’t tried the cheeses yet but they seem to have a great selection. They also carry a lot of Stonewall Kitchen products, 6-​packs of beer, pastas and some grab ‘n go snacks if you work in the area. This would be a great place to go to put together a little gift basket maybe for a housewarming party or something similar. The staff is also extremely friendly and knowledgable in a very non-​pretentious way! And the fact that they are open until 9 pm on weeknights is a HUGE plus!

Great little find by accident as I was walking along the canal. Adorable shop, no attitude, and very friendly staff. If I lived here, I would be a regular. They have a nice wine selection and gourmet foods.

The owner is extremely knowledgeable about every wine he carries, and many he doesn’t. The store specializes in Italian and US wines, but he also carries Greek, Spanish, French, Chilean and other specialty wines, including a nice selection of champagnes and sparkling wines.
In addition t a load of wine varietals, Tutto Bene also carries a great supply of exotic cheeses, crackers, olives and other snacks to help you create the perfect wine tasting event, or to set up a romantic picnic for two.
If you need to give an exceptionally unique gift, they create divine gift baskets with wine, pasta, sauces, cheeses, utensils and glasses, sure to please any palate.
They also have several wines available «on tap», so you can sit at the huge dining table in the wine room and taste away to your heart’s content. In this room, they also have a full library of wine books so you can study up and learn the intricacies of wine while the owner de-​mystifies wine and points you in the right direction.
Bonus: most of the wines are under $ 20, and many are closer to $ 12. Price doesn’t make wine taste good, and the owner of this cellar is the first to admit that, which is why he’s hand-​selected this special blend of wines to be recession-​proof while still delivering phenomenal taste at a great value.
They’re open until 9 pm during the week, so you have no excuse not to check them out ASAP. Bring your oil & vinegar carafes when you visit, and you can have them refilled. Very green!
