Now this is a bar. Great beers on tap with so many options you don’t see in your typical bar. They have outdoor seating which is great when the weather is awesome. The bar itself inside is a typical bar. The bartop seats a good number of people; Something you don’t see very much anymore. The men’s room was pretty clean and they have the best urinal I have ever seen. Definitely will be coming back for more. Especially if they keep that nitro IPA on tap!

This is not against the establishment but the fu*king jukebox ordeal… I put $ 15 bucks in for 36 credits and only 6 were played! Nobody added songs after me and 7 songs were not played! Fuc* you jukebox company! To the new owner… Don’t cheap out! Put in the external amp and pre amp to play customer iPhones/android and owned music. Jukeboxes are dead! Your customers personal music won’t break your bank with the electrical bill!

The food and atmosphere were still great(though our server did forget to put in half our order, causing one of us to wait 45 for a grilled cheese.) The reason for the single star rating however was a result of the behavior of a staff member. We were sitting outside, and there was a man begging at the cars stopped at the red light. A staff member continuously complained about this man, and eventually walked over to him, and spoke with him for quite awhile. He was overheard saying«Think about how you look» and«people live here, we don’t want to see this.» Ultimately the beggar walked away. My date and I were disgusted with how he could treat another human, who clearly was already down on his luck. The staff member came back, opened the door, and pulled a colleague out, bragging about what he had just said to this man. About 5 minutes later, another man began looking for money for the stopped cars. At this point, the staff member turned to my date and I and said, «Jeez — you get rid of one, and another comes right along». He went over and spoke with this man as well, though we couldn’t hear what he was saying. This man eventually walked away too. If these men were disrupting customers, I could understand telling them they needed to move on. But Ward Eight does not manage the corner across the street, nor are the passengers and drivers of passing cars customers. The treatment of those men was unacceptable and heartbreaking to witness. I met the man I will marry at this bar, and unfortunately will never return to Ward Eight.

Inside smells like beer and vomit. That’s why you see more people hanging outside. Great place to hang with local drunks and druggies though.

Douchebag wannabe hipster bar. Rude, inattentive bartenders. My boy was waiting an inordinately long time to get a drink with a couple of bartenders just standing around and when they did do something it was to take drink orders from people who came to the bar after us. 3 – 4 folks behind the bar at the time. Once we finally got the drinks I refused to let my friend tip the snobby girl who served us the drinks and grabbed his money off the bar and loudly announced service that bad doesn’t deserve a tip. Later the cops came to the bar and arrested some woman. I was the only one shit talking the cops and everyone else there looked at me as if I was nuts… maybe for the comments I was making to the cops maybe for the sunglasses I was wearing at midnight… either way fuck them, and fuck this place.

The Moscow Mule, if you don’t know what to order. Basically ginger beer with vodka and lime juice served in this little cool copper cup. They have other beers on tap from the New England area that are good as well. They have some other good mixed drinks that I’ve had as well, but don’t remember what they were called. Oh and I didn’t even know that this establishment serves food because I don’t go there early enough for the kitchen to be open HAH.

It was okay. Nothing To special about it. Had to wait s long time to get our drinks. The good thing and only reason it got 3 stars was because they had an outside area and for me being able to have some drinks while outside is the best!!!

dinner recently at the bar… well it is a bar, pretty quiet this evening thought it was early and cold outside, and slippery too… service very pleasant, food very good… some interesting bar decorations such as old furnace doors and cut out boilers… decent place with good food.

Met my friend last night for dinner and a drink. I got a pizza and a hard cider that, including tip, was under $ 25. Great value for the money and the service was nice. Only giving 4 stars because trying to find parking is quite difficult.

One of my favorite bars in Lowell. The inside is a little small but there is also an outside seating area which is great in the warmer weather. There is a variety of beers on tap here and they are constantly changing so you have the chance to try something new all the time. They also make my favorite drink Moscow Mule and actually serve it to you in the copper mug. Not to mention it always tastes fantastic. The staff is incredibly nice and most somewhat sarcastic. They are always working hard and willing to answer your questions about their new beers.

Best burgers and grilled cheeses in town! I eat here regularly and have never had a bad meal. Menu is limited, Grilled Cheeses, Burgers, and Pizza, but that is A-OK when it is all done right! Highly recommend for a casual meal!

I really enjoyed this place. Me and 4 guys went here before a hockey game for some beer and food. A recently reduced bottled beer list was the only downfall of the evening. All of the guys enjoyed their food. I had the sausage pizza which I thought was excellent. The appetizer nachos were good, but I thought they were going to be larger. Great fries. They have some great grilled cheese variations which got high marks from the guys that ordered them. They have Ballantine IPA on draft which is quite delicious BTW.

I was hesitant about this restaurant because their menu was kinda small. Eventually, me and my coworkers ordered the Calamari appetizers and I was quite impressed(def. coming back for that again). I like the sweet vinegary taste of it and the dip. The burger was a bit harder to choose because alot of the meals had cool names, but I chose the Holy Jalapeño. The bun and everything in it was just sweet enough for my sweet tooth, and the jalapeño wasn’t spicy at all. Although, I would pass on the pickle next time because it was so plain tasting and destroyed the sweetness.

the food is here always amaze-balls, granted, I’ve typically been drunk when eating here. anyways, I’m sure it’s great sober too. Drinks are good, they have some cocktail to choose from, an okay selection on tap. bartenders are always personable — easy to get along with, but leave you alone for the most part. TVs along the seats, so it’s a good place to go on game day.

I’m not sure where the awesome food review come from. I’ve eaten here twice — the first time, I ordered a turkey burger. The waitress actually asked me how I wanted it cooked. I said, «well, it’s turkey. So I’d like it cooked.» She said, «yeah, but do you want it like, medium or medium well?» I said, «it’s turkey — it needs to be cooked all the way through.» Luckily, it did arrive cooked, but so drowned in balsamic vinegar that I couldn’t finish it. The bottom bun was just soaked. The second time, I ordered a pizza Margherita. It was cheddar cheese. Canned tomatoes. And it sure seemed like dried, shook on basil. It was awful.

OK, finally had the pizza!!! So far its the absolute best I’ve had in Lowell. Way better than Pizza Express, which is Unilocal #1 go to. I had the veggie and it was cooked perfectly. And the crust is perfectly thin and crispy and you can taste the slightly singed parts. Yummmmm. I can’t wait to go back for the BBQ chicken pizza. My friend wasn’t interested in going out of his comfort zone so it will have to wait till next time. Decent price too, a little more $ than Pizza Express but at least you can eat this one! Pizza Express is a gooey greasy mess. Oh, we also tried the Mac n Cheese appetizer and were pleasantly surprised. Not the best you’ll ever have, but we certainly didn’t leave any on the plate! Again we had great service and yummy cocktails. You’ve def won me over Ward 8!!!
