Ordered the chicken fried chicken sandwich. Was told it came with two sides. The waitress delivered the platter(rather than the sandwich). I told her this wasn’t what I’d ordered, but feeling sorry for her as she seemed rushed by the evening’s crowd, I took the platter. Then, she charged me for the platter plus one of the sides. Small portions aside, I complained only about being charged for one of the sides she said was included in the meal. She copped a snarky attitude and did not offer to make good on the ticket. I will not be returning.

We love going to Caprock for cold drinks and good food! Laid back atmosphere and cold, cold beer! Get there early on the weekends to get a seat. 2 weeks ago, we had a party of 12 and we were seated and served quickly. Our waitress was great and kept our drinks full, which is always a plus!

Went on a busy Saturday and were seated quickly and greeted by our server in a timely manner. Both husband and I ordered a burger with a side salad. I had two special requests-to have both regular ranch and spicy ranch with my salad and that I get my burger in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. I received regular ranch with my salad and when the burger came, it was on a bun and with a side of ranch and spicy ranch(even though salad plates were already picked up). Neither mistakes were worth saying anything, but it was still a bummer. Hubby’s order was fine, but he didn’t have any special request different from the menu. Burgers were very tasty, tender, and juicy. Very family friendly. Lots of louds: both music and TVs. Reasonably priced, though portions were smaller than other area restaurants.

Good food! Great music playing on the radio. Amazing projector TV showing the LSU — In breeders um, I mean Alabama game. Prices a bit steep for a basket of chips with queso and salsa($ 8.99…SERIOUSLY???) I mean it was okay but it wasn’t slap yo’ Mama good. Service was less than desirable as we sat reading our menus for over 6 minutes waiting for our waitress before anyone noticed us. Jackie(bless your heart) finally asked us if we’d been helped and when we told her ‘Not yet’ she immediately apologized and said she would take us on even though it wasn’t her table. Poor thing had to stand there for the next few minutes while my girlfriend and I made up our minds what we wanted. She never once rolled her eyes or acted frustrated like so many young people do these days. Instead she waited patiently and answered our questions about menu items until we finally decided. Jackie, you were GREAT! CC Manager, I hope you realize what a great young lady you have working for you. We got EXCELLENT service from her. :-)

Pretty typical bar and grill. It’s a popular spot but if you are expecting a long wait you’re not missing out of you decide to try out a different place. CapRock has a typical menu of burgers, fries foods, steaks, and salads. They do offer generous portions so expect to leave full. None of the food really stood out except the jalapeño skins– those were delicious.

One of our favorites in town. We had our first date there so we always fall back on it. Burgers are great. Queso is one of our fave in town. And the best place for a cold beer. A fun place to hang out and watch the game. The patio is great, too!

Had dinner here last night with some friends. I ordered a ¼ lb blue cheese bacon burger with fried onion/jalapeño on the side. We began with fried jalapeño slices, aka Bottle caps. The bottle caps were really good, but a little spicier than I expected. The burger was great! I topped it all off with a Margarita. Great atmosphere! I would return!

There is not one thing I haven’t LOVED! Twisted taters are a must! Don’t forget the chips and queso! Best place to grab a drink and chat. I love how everytime I go, there’s a new playlist playing. One of my favorite places in Lubbock!

Caprock is one of a kind. A combination of tex mex and homestyle foods(chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, burgers, etc). They have good happy hour specials and environment. The enclosed patio is really great. I love the Chilton’s and the beer is the coldest in town. The chips and queso is a must. It can get pretty loud during peak hours so if you want to hold a conversation then maybe sit on the open air patio. Burgers are mediocre. Not bad but I’m not super impressed. I appreciate the options like queso and green chiles as add ons. Some of the fries alternatives are great like Texas toothpicks and twisted taters! Give it a try for sure.

We came to Lubbock for a mini weekend vacation. Since we weren’t from here I jumped on Unilocal to consider where to go. I’m glad we decided to join Caprock Café for lunch. My double meat cheeseburger was excellently juicy & the fries were very crispy. My daughters grilled cheese sandwich was delicious. My husband was not so impressed with his chicken fried steak. Some of the staff was somewhat polite. They seemed a tad bit irritated because we asked questions about the items listed & about some items we needed for the table. Needless to say it was a wonderful atmosphere & the food was deliciou!

Here’s a god place for burgers, and fried stuff. When you walk in, the place is packed. There are lots of TV’s and it’s pretty loud in here. I got the green chile burger. Here’s your basic burger on a basic bun, nothing fancy. When you get the«twister taters» it isn’t tater tots, it’s just potato chips.

Waitress are so so rude. My cup of water was about empty and me and my husband change cups of water cause his was full cause he was drinking a beer and she automatically picked the cup up and refilled it bahaha. Honey my honey is just like me you can’t wait a table he isn’t going to tip you just cause you are running your little tits on him or wearing shorts that your ass is hanging out of. He has morals and has some respect. I’m sorry we ain’t dressed to kill a horse and wearing Tech shit. Also when you don’t get something right in understand that is the cooks fault but you don’t have to be rude goodness slam my food down when brought back at and had fixed it and had raw bacon on the damn nachos. Manager just stood there and watched us cause we was upset. She just slid our plate of nachos down and grunted. Rude rude

Took my wife and family to Caprock Café for Mother’s Day. The atmosphere was fun. The food was awesome. My daughter’s boyfriend and I had schooners of beer and they were ice cold! My wife said her margarita was a bit too sweet but still good. The service was very good. I really don’t know what some of the other reviewers are complaining about unless they are comparing you to a five-star restaurant. As a bar and grill, you are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Coming to caprock is kind of a Lubbock fall back plan to the decent places in town. The only thing they offer that is consistent is terrible service and bland flavored cheaply made food. However, if you enjoy stale chips, watered down mass production«salsa» and paper thin chicken fried steaks that are over breaded and drowned in tasteless gravy then this is definitely your kind of place. Their«big burgers» are only big in assumption. If you have a small appetite and enjoy seeing a waitress pay attention to you once every 30 minutes then bring your money here and enjoy!

Excellent food — always! Great service — always! We have moved from Lubbock for a while, but always have to have our Caprock fix when we pop into Lubbock. Whether it’s salads, burgers or C. F. Steak you desire, this is the place to get it. Others may try to copy or imitate(the highest form of flattery!) but just can’t get there. The menu is comprehensive enough for just about any taste or diet. The beer is cold and the atmosphere fun. Since there is no-smoking, a great place for kids too. Every time we’re back in the Hub, Caprock Café is always a stop.
