Went to Joe’s last night(6÷9÷16). Worst steamed crab ever($ 23). There was so much Cajun seasoning it was too hot to eat, and I like spicy food. But the crab, which was non existent, was either over cooked or old. Not going back!

Saw the ad on television for JCShack advertising fresh oysters on the half shell! Dad and I loaded up and went… sat down at the bar and after 5 minutes someone took our drink order. Drinks were poured and we ordered oysters. Too bad they were out. Second time this has happened at this location. Won’t be back.

Drinks are always good. Food is hit or miss. Tonight I paid 30 bucks for shrimp that was over cooked and tasted like rubber.

If you want to wait an hour for food than come here. We are from out of town(Austin) and stay in Lubbock once a month. Husband was in the mood for seafood so we came here. I can say we are never eating here again and will gladly drive the extra mile to go to Red Lobster.

Terrible. The crab was awful. It tasted old and bland. I got the Ragin Cajun. It’s supposed to come with sausage. It didn’t come out with the order. I told the manager about the missing sausage. He apologized and said it would come right out. It never came. So I had to ask the waiter. Took another 10 mins. By then I was full. No offer for discount or free desert. Just a an overpriced $ 61 bill for some of the worst seafood I’ve ever had. Don’t go here.

Probably get more stars from me because the meal was extremely tasty. I ordered a steam pot & there was plenty in it to share. We ordered the fries & hush puppies instead of the corn & potatoes. Our waiter never brought us hush puppies and it was not even busy in the restaurant in the slightest! We asked repeatedly but he only remembered to bring the check. This was frustrating and ridicules.

The food is very over priced for the quality. We could have gone to Long John Silvers for the same dish and paid much less. It was greasy greasy greasy and very small portions. The service was great, the food was not.

Shrimp over cooked. Lobster over cooked. If I wanted to chew on rubber, I would have eaten my shoe. The manager was apologetic and re-fired some shrimp, but it was over cooked too. Would have done better to offer a desert. She stated that the lobster would be better in the future because corporate was changing from pre-cooked lobster to frozen. I hope that means the cooking staff will know how long to prepare the lobster and not leave it over cooked or, now that it will be frozen, raw. Considering the lack of business on a Thursday night dinner, the wait staff could have done a better job of helping each other cover they talked. Instead, hanging around the bar, talking by the t-shirts, and cleaning empty tables was the priority. How hard is it to walk around with a pitcher of water or iced tea and check customer’s glasses?

The wait wasn’t bad, a simple 10 minutes if that. They text you when your table is ready, that was cool. We were greeted with friendly smiles, beverage orders taken quickly. Good was good and you get a lot of it. We had to flag the waitress a couple times to get silverware and then the bill, but not a big deal. It is a very kid friendly place so keep that in mind if you don’t have them. All in all, we were pleased

Food was slow coming from the kitchen, but my waitress Rachel offered great customer service! Will definitely request her if I travel to Lubbock again!

They are so unorganized. I use to work there. They run out of certain food all the time, and are always short staffed.

This place is over priced junk! I hate to be ugly but nothing was great and for those prices it needs to be awesome. My son ordered soup and salad and didn’t even get his food until we were half way done eating our food and they weren’t even busy. My husbands burger was ordered medium and it came out burnt. Very very disappointing!!!

Very hit and miss. Sometimes we’ve had great food, other times we had to call the manager. It’s your choice as to whether or not play Russian Roulette. Crab is NOT supposed to stick to the shell. Just sayin’.

Yes the prices are on the high side but this is landlocked Texas, what do you expect? The atmosphere is fun, the servings are big. The king crab is definitely king. Key lime pie is spectacular! Drove 2 hours to get there. Would do it again! Beer was ice cold… mmmm good!

Was in Lubbock today for a Dr. visit. We were in the mood for seafood, so we stopped by. I have no real complaints with the food it was hot and what you’d expect from a chain seafood restaurant. The real problem was the service we never saw our server but twice during the whole meal. She seemed more occupied by other things, and that wouldn’t have been such a problem if they were busy, but we were one of only three groups in the restaurant. Sadly the whole experience was pretty forgettable.

Start with the garlicky mussels, then move to a sunset steam pot, follow up with a smore dessert and you will five star this place every time! The staff is generally well receiving and on top of the game. Havent tried many dishes most were always good but when you get a steampot winner why change it up!

I came to this Joe’s because of the bad reviews. I wanted to find out how this one had gone so wrong. When we arrived, we were told that there was a 45 minute to an hour wait. The place is VERY popular. After 44 minutes of waiting, we had a table. I have eaten at Joe’s in Jacksonville, Galveston, and Houston, and therefor feel quite safe in saying that both the food and service at this location are very good. I experienced none of the problems reported by previous reviewers. The manager even walks the floor to ensure that patrons receive the best possible service. I make it a point not to issue a 5 star rating until I’ve eaten at a location twice, but I anticipate up rating this to one the next time I pass through Lubbock.

Typical Joes food. Crappy service. And they weren’t even busy. My wife ordered steal — medium. It came out pretty bloody. When she told the waitress she acted like we insulted her. Then she got the manager. The manager asked my wife what she considered medium«because people see things differently». She kind of acted like my wife was being difficult. Won’t eat here again.

I’ve always had a like/apathy relationship with Joe’s(not nearly extreme enough to be love/hate), and this one embodies it. But when you’re in West Texas, there are limited options if seafood is calling to you. Disinterested hostesses but overly perky waitresses, generic drinks, but good hyperpalatable chain restaurant seafood. It’s there for you when even a Red Lobster can’t be found, but is not worth the effort otherwise.

Joe’s Crab Shack is sorta like a Red Lobster that has turned into a frat house. They have the same seafood selection that you would expect from a seafood joint but the noise and tie dye from Animal House or Greek. The food was pretty tasty but I don’t know if it’s worth the disco lights and dance routines(yes… dance routines). As with any place that serves fresh seafood the price is a bit high but it was worth it. I had a steamer bucket that came with sausage, shrimp, corn of the cob, crab, and potatoes. I have no regrets about ordering it but I think I would probably just order crab legs the next time.
