Inexpensive, good size portions, home made burger joint. I got the hamburger special with cheese(comes with a medium drink and fries) Fries definitely could have been cooked longer but I love that the ice in the drink was almost like drinking a slushy. The burger had just the right amount of char from the grill but still juices. I know pickles are not for everyone but I love that they come standard! Anytime I don’t have to ask for additional items it’s a win win. Thanks for a great lunch!

This place is delicious, though it doesn’t look like much. I really liked the burger it reminded me of the ones I used to eat with my uncle when I lived in Louisiana. It was way bigger than I expected, which was a great surprise. I didn’t really care for the fries, I usually don’t like ketchup but these fries needed a little something to make them taste better. All in all I would definitely recommend coming here to try their burgers. I also really liked the Tech décor they had inside.

I’ve always wanted to come here and try out their burgers. I heard that this establishment had a good reputation. WRONG. This place had the worst customer service out of all the little hole in the wall joints I’ve ever been to. The woman who handled my cash exchange was incredible rude and just literally took money from me, handing me my food and ignoring my presence for the rest of the time I was there. I had ordered 4 of their«daily special for $ 5.99» which was supposed to come with a 4 drink 4 burger and 4 fries and instead was I got a big slap in the face from another manager who said that the special I ordered only came with 3 drinks and 4 burgers with just meat and cheese. Who orders just meat and cheese between 4 different people??? She wanted me to pay more money on top of my ridiculously overpriced meal, which was horrible, cold fries and burnt meat. If I could give it less than 1 star I’d give it a freakin negative 6 stars. Terrible restaurant with terrible people working. This is one book you can pass on thanks to the cover. Kinda like you find a a musty old ricketty book in the library and the title is «COMPLETEANDUTTERCRAP.» As you ride pass this little shack on the road, you can do the same.

Fries were limp and greasy… the hamburger had no flavor. I will say adding pastrami is a great addition but was the lone star of the food…

I’ve been meaning to try Christaki’s for a while now, but just got the chance last Saturday. It was great! One of the best burgers I’ve had in Lubbock. The burger was obviously cooked to order and the cheese was nice and melted and the veggies were fresh. Their fries were piping hot and tasted like they are made in house, but I didn’t ask. They had just the right amount of crispiness and weren’t over salted. The amount of food and quality you get for the price is excellent. You’d spend about the same $ at any national burger chain, but you wouldn’t get anything half this good! This burger reminded me of what burgers tasted like when I was a little kid and we went to a diner or somewhere. I’m sure the food at Christaki’s tastes the same as a burger place from 50 – 60 years ago, and that makes me happy!

Just driving through Lubbock and came across Christakis. The service was fantastic and the food was great. Traditional, American style burgers with nothing fancy about it. Love the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, and good tasting food. When you’re in the mood for a burger, this is the place to go!

This was quite possibly the best basic burger I have ever eaten. I say«basic» because I have enjoyed other, more«exotic» burgers more(e.g. Vortex in Atlanta), but I’ve never enjoyed the simple combination of ground beef, bacon, and a bun more than this. The bun might be the best part — it’s buttery and, I think, cooked on the griddle(or maybe toasted). The flavor was perfect. My wife had the Christaskis Burger, and it taught me that my life had been incomplete without pastrami on my burgers. Also, it doesn’t hurt that it’s dirt cheap.

The christaki burger, get it. Pastrami, Swiss, beef. You’ll want to eat it forever. They have really quick service, the place is always impeccable, and you get good old Lubbock hospitality. It’s so easy to support local business when it’s this good. Plus, if you like to Instagram your food, the corner booth has some killer good lighting.

We love their burgers and homemade fries! These are truly tasty burgers with options of bacon, green chili, and more. It’s not a fancy place, but clean and staff are friendly. We usually take our order home, but they do have a little fast food dining area.

As of late across this great land of the USA there has been an explosion of gourmet, haute cuisine burger restaurants, where one can fulfill their long-held fancies of getting a portabella mushroom burger adorned with mango slices, dill infused aioli, and a wheat bun with a donut hole in the middle filled with raspberry ganache. All satire aside, sometimes all one wants is a pure beef burger cooked on an open grill that is no more than 20% lean covered with cheese, pickles, onions, and mustard and served in buttered white bun and a copious complement of handcut fries. This is precisely what Christakis delivers, and it does so within the confines of a diner feel within a stone’s throw of I-27, the type of setting one should expect of such a place. Christakis is one of my favorite burgers in town and carries on the bygone traditions(as far as I am concerned at least) of what used to be great burger joints Pete’s and George’s. Christakis delivers something unique in Lubbock — the timeless American burger experience in a setting appropriate for the occasion. As an aside, while I have only ever tried and enjoyed the burgers, I am intentional on eventually taking advantage of a menu that includes a pastrami and ham sandwich as well as a few Greek selections such as gyros. As the name belies, the restaurant proprietors are in fact a Greek family, so it seems worth giving the Greek food a shot.

The reviews where a little misleading about the old diner experience but the food was good. The place is more like a family owned DQ. The service was fast and the staff was very nice.

One of my more favorite hamburger places! Husband loves it too. We have been all over this town in the year we have been here. My husband likes to try and find the best burger in each town we live in. I actually found this one and got his approval over all the big name chains none of them beat this place!

What a great find, while visiting Lubbock. Had the daily special hamburger with fries and drink all for 6.99. The burger was great! Definitely a must try.

This Greek diner, although in an interesting part of town, serves promising greasy grub with a friendly smile. Decorations are pretty tacky, but don’t let the overwhelming Texas Tech pride and freaky wreaths deter you from the amazing-ness that you’ll put into your mouth. The fries were overdone, but other than that it all tasted wonderful, especially the gyros.
