Walking in a winter wonderland! Regardless of the time of year Hobby Lobby will be sure to have the decorations, fake flowers and all the crafts you desire. This particular location is one of the largest I have ever visited. They must have over 50 employees there at any given time. That makes it super easy if you are lost in the sea of wall hangings and picture frames to ask someone for help finding those sparkly pink boas you are looking for. Tip: Don’t ever pay full price for anything here. They have a weekly 40% coupon that you can use on one full priced item. Besides that coupon, every week a different half of the store is on sale. Hobby Lobby loves their sales and so do I. The lines can get a little long, but, hey, they are doing all they can to get you through it!

No, just no. Not enough help, aisles blocked off with no reason for it.(No employee working there, just blocked off.) Frustration, frustration, frustration

I consistently forgot how frustrating it is to shop at Hobby Lobby until the second I walk in — that pretty well sets the stage for this review. There are times when you just think you need something from this god-awful retailer, for me it was a single package of $ 1 thank you cards. Though originally steered to the wrong location by an employee I was still in a good mood about my visit, I found my cards and headed towards the front(for clarity, ‘the term ‘the front’ will now be replaced by ‘seventh layer of hell’). After arriving at the Seventh Layer of Hell, I found a single open register. It was 7pm on a Weds and I was surprised by this. Being surprised, I counted the number of people ahead of me in line. 31, there were 31 people queued up behind a single open register. A few registers over there were four Hobby Lobby employees standing behind a register and all were talking amongst themselves and looking(generally) down. Having a purchase that would total roughly $ 1.10 I decided to ask if any of them were opening that register. Once I again traversed the Seventh Layer of Hell, I saw all four of them on their cell phones(3 on Facebook and a third looking at pictures) and talking about a party. As politely as I could muster I asked if they were going to open at which point one employee turned her back to me and snarked to the others ‘does it look like it?!‘ The irony of me sliding my thank you cards across the counter in frustration to this helpful group did not hit me until now, but I slid them across and victoriously escaped the Seventh Layer of Hell. As I was walking out to my car it occurred to me that directly across the street to the East is Michael’s; a similar store with a little smaller selection, similar prices, but friendly AND helpful staff. Takeaway here: trust me on the correct layer of hell at HL and instead spend your money across the street!

A giant store of craft supplies, home décor and frames?! All my pinterest dreams came true! I love hobby lobby! I used to shop at their location in houston all the time so I was very excited to see lubbock has one! The store is very large, has more options than houston and wasn’t very crowded on a Saturday afternoon! Hobby lobby runs specials ALLTHETIME! 50% off is pretty standard. So call before you go in and see if that particular section is running specials that week. I had a great experience! Friendly staff and lots of smiling faces! Can’t wait to go back for more DIY supplies!

Horrible customer service experience, inept management and staff. I suggest Michael’s right across the street.

Watch out Hobbies here comes the Lobby: Hidden behind it all: Hobby Lobby is located on the South Loop and Slide in one of our most popular shopping centers. Its fairly easy to find and has some popular restaurants close by. It is located in the back lot of this popular shopping center but it is a wonderful location with more than ample parking. The Experience: Hobby Lobby have always been up ahead of the game on their seasonal goods you won’t have to look very far to find what you need. Because this is one of the largest provider of hobby gifts in the area you can find a plethora of goods for just about any hobby. As for myself I have found that they have had cute help all year round not just on the holidays. Yes I said cute. They have the uncanny ability to hire the new Texas Tech students looking for a job that has flexible hours and Sundays off. I do recommend them for their order and ability to get their customers from the checkout line to the exit, I appreciate that. Overall: I think this is a great location for any store and would encourage everyone to finish their hobby search here. Visit this store if you have the time to look around and get a feel for what you might want to try your hand at or to just learn what a truely exceptional store has to offer.

I miss this Hobby Lobby. I worked here for almost 2 years, and now its the standard I judge all other Hobby Lobby stores against. I live in the Austin area now, and the stores here are always dirty, shelves are always empty or disarranged, and the cashiers always act like they’ve got somewhere better to be. The Lubbock store is almost always orderly and clean, and the majority of employees are cheerful and willing to help with whatever you need. The Lubbock store does get very crowded, especially on weekends during the holiday season, because it’s the only Hobby Lobby in the area. The managers do their best to keep lines as short as possible, but there is sometimes still a considerable wait. To avoid this, try shopping on weekday mornings or afternoons. If you have to shop on a Saturday, try to go during a Texas Tech home game – the store is much less busy! One area they could definitely improve is in the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The stock guys clean them every night and check them through the day, but they aren’t thoroughly cleaned. They also need to be updated because many of the fixtures are dingy and dirty looking.

I love arts and crafts. LOVE them. Therefore, I love Hobby Lobby. Located behind a Chick-Fil-A(hey hey… lunch!), this location is really easy to get to being that it’s right off of Slide and the Loop. The parking is super plentiful — you just have to watch out for the crazies that drive all over the empty lot without paying attention. I also love Hobby Lobby because they have great sales. Last time I was in here, I picked up over $ 100 of scrapbooking supplies and my final bill was knocked down to $ 88. Not bad! Just be patient, be willing to spend some time looking for what you need and you’ll be just fine.
