It’s big enough to spend 3 hours or 30 minutes depending on how long you spend gazing at the paintings. It’s free. Why wouldn’t someone give this 5 stars? It’s a real legitimate museum, with wood floors, pleasant lighting, the whole 9 yards. Well worth the time.

My favorite part about this place was the interactive boards by the enterance. They have a huge map and let you place a sticker by anywhere in the world you would like to travel. This sparked an awesome conversation within our group as we walked through out the museum. The employees were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It was a great way to spend an hour for free!

Midland, TX

Pretty neat place. We only stopped in for the planetarium. This is free for everyone. We browsed around for a little. Lots of neat art and animal exhibits.
If you are in the area then check it out. I advise to skip the planetarium.

Not too bad for an university museum. I came here with my dad and we spent several hours looking around. It is probably not worth a second visit though. I think the admission is free so you can’t complain about that. They also participate in the first Friday art thing so you can come here for free food and some educational programs.
One Christmas I volunteered here to teach little kids how to make elf and ornaments. Fun time!

New to Texas and Lubbock we went to the museum on a Saturday afternoon and we’re pleasantly surprised that it was free! They had some great exhibits, nothing like the Louvre in France but definitely worth checking out.

I went here once when I was in grade school. Our teacher yelled at us and said that we didn’t know how to behave. This time I did behave. That should show her!
The Good:
The exhibits are great. They even had two traveling exhibits. One was ultra-realistic sculptures, the other was artwork by people with disabilities. Both were stunning.
Their regular exhibits are great, too. I love southwest art and images of the southwest. It made me want to go back to simpler times and listen to country music.
Entry is free. You can donate if you like.
The Bad:
Nothing really. Just no flash photography allowed.
Overall:
If they have good traveling exhibits when I’m there again, I’ll definitely visit.
