STELLARSERVICE! If i were judging on the SERVICE alone… i would give this place 5STARS! The people at the front desk are very professional and willing to accommodate. I called in and gave them my arrival time and the shuttle was waiting for me as i exited the airport. After checking in i wanted to go into town and Hunter, one of the guys who was working the front desk took me to the main college area for dinner and offered to give me a mini-tour on the way. He showed me a bit around Lubbock and showed me where the supermarket was, good places to eat, get coffee, etc. He dropped me off outside Starbucks and picked me up an hour later. Technically they only take you up to 3 miles from the hotel, but they are super nice and when i asked about a good place to eat, he recommended a Thai restaurant that was 5 miles away but said that if i wanted to go it would be NO problem to take me. I felt very welcomed. After i got back to my room, the front desk called up and asked if everything was to my liking which was also a very nice touch on their end. The next morning i went into the restaurant to get some hot water for my instant coffee and the waitress(Dawna) and the chef(Mario) were sitting at a table chatting because there were no customers and they were quick to help me and struck up a conversation with me. We ended up chatting for 30 minutes at least. They were really interested in my life and what brought me to Texas. Again another encounter with really nice people at this place. THELOCATIONANDACTUALHOTEL! This is where the rating goes down for me. The hotel itself needs some serious remodeling. It looks old and worn out and it should be no more than a 2 star at best. The rooms were clean and the furniture was ok, but the television was the older kind(with the rounded screen). It was nice that i had both a fridge and a microwave in my room. The internet was free throughout the hotel without an access code, but it did keep coming in and out throughout the time i used it. The lobby looks like a jail it has a courtyard with natural lighting in the middle that is surrounded by an ugly and un-elegant metal verandah. It looked very ghetto to say the least. I did not get to look at the pool because given the state of everything else, i wouldn’t be caught dead in that still water. No breakfast included in room price and things are old and outdated. I probably would not stay here again. If it wasn’t for the service i received i would be very upset about having to stay here two nights while in Lubbock. I’m not sure what their prices are because i also purchased this room on Hotwire, so i got a different deal, however, the $ 75 that i paid for the room per night, is too high for the quality of this Radisson. It felt more like a Days Inn or Motel than a nice 3 star Hotel. I am also disappointed in Hotwire, because usually they are a pretty trustworthy site, but i believe that this time around it was a total miss.

Very old hotel. Good location. Near a Wal-Mart and multiple restaurants.

This hotel was awesome. The bartender was kind of a twat though. We stayed here for two nights and slept great the whole trip. Checking in was a little sucky, we waited around to be checked in for about 5 minutes. Seriously not that big of a deal though and the guy turned out to be really nice. I don’t know when the change in ownership was made, but an employee named Chris told us the hotel was recently purchased by a plastic surgeon who lives in LA. Ooook, idk what a Dr in LA is doing buying hotels in Lubbock, but to each their own I guess. Anyway, along with the purchase came many(from what I could tell) renovations. There is really cool décor, sort of a Texas/Southern feel but it also encompassed a little bit of like 1800s saloon as well. They had really cool railings, wrought iron(or something that looked like it), the inside of the elevators was really pretty(cheaply done, but I’ll get to that in a minute), and the pool had this cool oasis-y vibe. Chris, who also drove us from the hotel to Tech and back, told us the reason only one elevator was working(which I hadn’t noticed, as there were two) is because the new owner was putting in new elevators. He also mentioned a figure of $ 300,000 for the new elevators, and I have NO idea how much a decent elevator costs… I thought like $ 30,000 was excessive, lol… but that seems pretty legit. I’m sure the cheapo elevator décor will soon be replaced. I also have a feeling other renovations will be coming. I visited the bar twice and was quite literally ignored. I guess it’s because there were so many tables with drunk or almost drunk guys, but whatev I guess… My boyfriend ordered a drink and as soon as his order came out of his mouth(I was still deciding, so I hadn’t given mine first) she spun around and walked away. I meannnnnnnnn… Oh and btw, the bar closes at 11pm. LAME! All in all though, we had a great stay. Their«standard» rate was $ 139 at the time, but we payed $ 79 for the student rate. Free wireless, although it was slightly spotty in our corner room.

I thought the sleep number beds were nice especially considering our rate was 30ish a night with our work rate. I thought the location was good and would stay back if I am down that way for work again.
