Our family stopped here for lunch on our way to Fort Bragg. We were looking for a place that would be easy to park with our 26′ trailer and also able to accommodate our dog. We found the perfect place… Alpine Café! Service has been outstanding! They brought water for our dog and suggested substitute items on my salad since I am on a restricted diet due to food allergies. My husband had the bacon wrapped deep fried hotdog which he found to be fantastic and I had a Cobb salad without dairy with their fresh salsa as dressing. Bathroom is clean as well. This was the perfect stop for our family!

We stopped for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing panini. I ordered the Beast Panini with roast beef, pepper jack, mushrooms, onions and light horseradish sauce. My hubby ordered the BLT hot dog and we split a salad. We could see the lake, and the food & service was great.

Loved this little café, I had the portabella panini, without cheese as I’m vegan and had a side salad. It was delicious! The service here is fabulous, the owner Jerry stopped by to say hi and I found this to be a wonderful personal touch. Also Alpine Café is dog friendly and we sat outside with our pooch, the owner brought him water. All in all a perfect lunchtime spent!

To Nicole, I have personally watched the Alpine café make the Portabella panini many times, all the ingredients are fresh aside from the black olives which only come in a can. The Bell peppers and onions and mushroom are chopped up fresh everyday and the Cheese is sliced daily, also the spread is prepared daily. Knowing the difference between canned food and fresh is easily identifiable, All their sandwiches are made fresh to order. Stop back in Nicole and give them another try.

Very friendly waitress. Very greasy food. We shared a portobello panini and fries, and sat outside on the patio. It’s a cute place from the outside and the view across highway 20 is nice, a sweet little park and slight view of the lake. Inside is where it takes a dive. Panini ingredients were all from a can, and everything came out extremely oily and greasy. We chose to eat lunch here because of the positive Unilocal reviews. I wish I had skipped it.

This lil place was a pit stop for lunch on our way to the redwoods and it totally took me by surprise! :) cute little kitschy place with great attentive servers and their paninis are huge. We ordered I believe was called the californian panini with turkey breast, avocado and bacon and the bread was perfectly grilled and buttery! Got to save half for later ;) Asides from the great sandwiches, I do admit I can be a bit of a coffee snob. so I was kind of skeptical at first. but their iced lattes were also great. Way better than the crappy gas station coffee I had been consuming to try and stay awake on the road. So if you’re cruising by the area, check out alpine! Theres also a park across the street where you can pull up and hang out on a bench and watch the duckies swim by.

Alpine café is awesome! Large portions — share the California sandwich and order your side. The spicy pork soup was yummy! Beautiful lakeside view with a nice patio! Irene the waitress was super helpful!

I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo on Tuesday, 11012011… they were out of chorizo. The chef improvised using pork sausage and some nice hot spices. Not only was it the biggest breakfast burrito I’ve ever seen(could feed 3 people, lol) it was one of the BEST! Also the coffee here is excellent. I had the decaf. I’ll be eating here again! Happy eating!

Stopped by here on the way from Sacramento to Fort Bragg, and on the way back as well! We had lunch both times, and I was impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Atmosphere: We sat outside on the patio both times and had a nice relaxing lunch. Inside the café is attached to a mini mart where you can pick up essentials. Service: The service is friendly and nice. Food: First Time: Portabella Mushroom Panini: Mushrooms and other veggies grilled up with oozy cheese. Comes with a side of fries or soup of the day. I thought it was pretty good, not outstanding, but definitely tasty and filling. Ranchero Burger: Bf thought it was ok, but he was still hungry after the 1⁄3 lb. patty. Second Time: Veggie Super Burrito: Surprisingly delicious. The Burrito looks a little weird with grill marks on it but it is extremely tasty. Stuffed with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, sour cream, and rice, I was very happy with it and the homemade spicy salsa that accompanied it was the perfect consistency. Beast Panini: Roast Beef and cabbage panini style with horseradish sauce, bf thought this was very good and filling. Overall: I would definitely stop here again. This café is affordable, fresh, tasty, and a welcoming stop on a stretch of highway where there isn’t much at all.

We happened to stop at this place on the way home to Sacramento from Upper Lake area, as we noticed the umbrellas out front and another couple eating. It was a nice morning, so it looked inviting to sit on the patio and be able to see the lake. The waitress was very professional and gave us the level of service we expected. In fact for the type of ‘café’ we were overly impressed with her level of service. The owner even came out to introduce himself, clarify our order and tell us a little more about the place. It was a pleasant surprise. The food came and while it was traditional breakfast food, it just tasted better. better than you expect from a little café. Most importantly, it tasted like food you would make at home. It was delish and we loved it. The portion sizes were perfect and we were even impressed with the coffees we had received. They have a nice espresso maker and do some great specialty coffee drinks, like iced mocha’s, etc. All in all, great place. The bad: If you’re looking for a nice quiet place or romance, this isn’t it, it is on the main street(Highway 20) but has a decent view of the lake. Great view.

They are getting it together so much. It is hard to start a new biz during this economy but they are happening. Check out their daily deal which could be anything from two for $ 3 hot dogs or tacos to sandwich or breakfast deals. Everytime I eat there it is better and always good. The staff is very nice and the owner is a great person, too. Lets keep them here!

The Alpine café is convenient to the Lucerne harbor Park, right across the street. They have delicious sandwiches and coffee. The people that work there are very friendly and the place is clean and resonably priced. They also have great art hanging on the walls!
