My wife and I have had two very enjoyable visits to P.M. Steamers, on two consecutive autumn getaways. Both times the service and food have been outstanding, never a reason to be disappointed. I have had Prime Rib and Filet Mignon entrees, she has had shrimp risotto. My meat has always come exactly as ordered and been flavorful and tender. Accompanying potatoes and veggies have been excellent as well. This year I tried the Crab and Pepper Bisque and it was yummy, thick, with just the right spice from the peppers. Dessert was special, too. Chocolate Walnut Torte with vanilla ice cream, sooooo good. And to top it off we were treated to a spectacular sunset over Lake Michigan whilst enjoying our meals. I can’t speak to why so many have panned this restaurant. In our opinion, it’s perfect for a special meal in a special place.

Mcdonalds… Burger King… a Tv dinner. All things I would rather have than PM Steamers food. Visited this restaurant over Labor Day weekend. Read the reviews and saw a lot of 3 – 4 star reviews and figured it’d be a decent place to try out. Complete disaster. Warning 1 couldn’t have come soon enough. Right when you walk in the joint you get a smell of pure awfulness. It smells disgusting, old, just gross. Also, looked like the place could use a good cleaning. Second, the hostess was completely lost I feel. I asked a simple question«can we please get a table near the window» which the area was completely open so the answer should’ve been an immediate yes i figured but apparently the question might have been too complex an instead of waiting for her to decide i said will just sit outside. Sitting down i’m relieved to see the menu isn’t huge which typically means the food should be good as the chefs are use to a small simple menu so executing the dishes should be quite simple. We order wine and put an order in for Perch and White fish. apparently they are two of their best sellers. What a complete an utterly terrible excuse for food. The Perch came out cold and the breading was just plain… no seasoning. Salt and Pepper are a thing and clearly are not utilized in the kitchen unfortunately. The potatoes were bland the green beans weren’t even cooked and bland, and the rice… you guessed it bland. These plates were priced at around $ 22-$ 25. If you don’t smoke you might start after eating here to get the nasty taste of their food off your palate. We ate maybe 1⁄8 of our food and politely told our waitress the food was not good. I didn’t tell our waitress but it was probably one of the top 3 worst places I’ve ever been out to eat at. I hate to be this blunt but the place was this awful. I can’t make this up… if you’re going to charge high end prices for your food at least deliver on it because as of right now it’s just plain awful. Also, they only took half off of our bill. We ate basically nothing and they still charged $ 36… I could of went to another restaurant ordered 2 entrees and 2 drinks for that price and been more happy. Do yourself a favor, go literally anywhere else and you’ll probably be better off. Oh yeah, don’t get the house red wine… it’s god awful.

By the end of the meal, our entire party was referring to bowel movements as P M Steamers. Food was great!

We are here on August 19th. Service was very good and friendly. They were accommodating when I asked to substitute scallops for shrimp in the risotto. It was dark when we were there but I’m sure the view was beautiful during the day. Prices are reasonable.

Not easily found unless you’re a boater, as this eatery is not on the main drag in Ludington. We were seated with a nice view of the marina and service at first was prompt and courteous. After she brought our drinks and took our order, we felt forgotten. The frozen Margherita went right to my head so I needed some bread pronto. I had to specifically ask for bread to get it. Once the food came though(not a long wait at all) WOW! Best Filet Mignon I have had since Jim and Christe’s wedding! Cooked to perfection! Chunky garlic mashed potato was awesome also. My wife had the Italian White Fish and loved it. I will definitely come back here again!

We visit PM Steamers every year when we come up to Ludington. The service is always great. Love the lobster and ahi tuna. One thing that really disappointed my boyfriend and I is that they took our favorite menu option off the menu! The Spicy Chorizo Penne. It hasn’t been on the menu the last couple years we’ve come. We’ve also heard other people try to order it/ask the servers why it’s no longer on the menu. I don’t see why they’d take an item off the menu that was so popular! Also love the view of Lake Michigan from the restaurant.

The food was great, however very slow & our female server was not very attentive. She made a dubious claim stating there was no cheese to put on my side salad. my pasta dish was supposed to Come with parm & breadstick, which I had to ask for. I’ve heard great things so we may give it one more shot, hopefully this was just an off night Update: we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately we ended up with the same server, same experience. I changed it to 2 stars. This server is just horrible!

Perch was good, everything else we had was marginal. Good service though. Enjoyed the view of the marina and watching the SS Badger come in tonight. Probably won’t be here again tho.

Spent a long weekend recently in Ludington, and Traverse City it is not when it comes to great dining options on the lake. Went to P. M Steamers one night and thoroughly enjoyed the setting on the marina. Interior hasn’t been updated sine the 80’s/90’s and it shows. Food is cooked and presented like its the only game in town, and it shows. Ordered the lake perch, a long time favorite, and it was serviceable. Tepid wine list served in a glass that rivals Lil’ Johns pimp cup for weight and chunkiness. Our waiter looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. Didn’t stick around for dessert as I’m not the biggest fan of dessert trays and there exists a Kilwin’s serving excellent ice cream a 4 minute walk away.

Revisited PM Steamers on a recent trip. The service was good, but food was quite slow to come out. I ordered the prime rib this time. it was delicious. Menu still has lots stuff that are obviously trucked or flown in from halfway around the world. I really wish this part of Michigan would embrace the locavore movement. Otherwise, PM Steamers is a fine choice for Ludington.

I had dinner here two nights ago at the recommendation of a friend whose condo I’m staying in nearby. I ordered the whitefish, and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly, a very good size portion, and very tasty. My friend ordered the fish and chips and said they, too, were really good. We enjoyed P M Steamers so much we almost went back last night, but decided to sample more local food instead. I’d go back based on my one and only meal. Service was also good.

Best place to go in Ludington for a special occasion, or just something different. They always have a wide variety and new things on the menu. Their dessert is also GREAT. The view is best in front on the lower level facing the marina, so we always request to sit in that area. The views from the rest of the restaurant are very nice as well if they do not have seating down in front.

Worst, waste, wonder why we stayed to eat. They shuffled us off to the corner even though they had other tables available. However they were reserved apparently for people coming two hours later because they were still empty when we left. Not to sound like that is the crux of my complaint. Wife order a side salad for dinner, they brought it at least 5 minutes after all the other food had been served. Side salad? Yes, that is what she ordered. I also ordered a appetizer for dinner because the menu was that underwhelming. To top it off, well we picked up a pizza to go from another restaurant.

I’d give 5 stars, but it’s always good to leave room for improvement. Food was great. Prices were very reasonable considering the restaurant’s location. Service was quick. Everyone in my family was happy with their choices. Bisque was delicious. I would definitely return if I find myself in Ludington again.

I took my wife here for a date night and was very impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. The view is great and the décor is simple and clean. My wife ordered some kind of chicken and pasta, while I ordered blackened red fish with a Louisiana crab cake and asparagus. My wife loved her dish, and mine was absolutely amazing as well. Prices were definitely aligned with the quality of the food. I will recommend this place to anyone.

Visiting and had local friend show me around. Had an amazing Filet Mignon. Food was great. Had appetizers of calamari and crab. The only compliant was service. Female server didn’t introduce herself and didn’t make eye contact when ordering drinks. She was writing on her pad finishing up her last table while trying to talk to us. She didn’t keep up refills and disappeared a lot. There was maybe 15 people inside when we ordered and took a good 45min. to get our food for a party of three. If you pay good money for good food, it should come with great service. But enjoyed the food none the less and liked the town of Ludington.

The food was extremely inexpensive for the quality and atmosphere. Yes you can get better but not at these prices. The bisque was incredible. The view from the dining room is worth the price of dinner. Service was ok and desert was great.

This was supposed to be one of the high end restaurants in town. But not sure if I had that experience… I went there for dinner, the place was packed, so naturally you would think the food should be good… Ordered drinks, it was a cocktail with lemon and gin. Man, that was a mistake. It was too strong to even sip! I literally had to add some water so that I can drink it. Main course was prime rib. It was OK. Meat did not have any flavor to it, it was chewy and just did not taste like that high end food. Side included was OK. It was spinach, and potatoes. None of the food did taste like a high end food. One thing was good, was the dessert. I did enjoy that part of the dinner. I had it to go, so had it when I was back at the hotel. I would have given it just 2 stars, but when I was there, a steamer pulled in to the bay. The bell went off, and had a chance to watch it get anchored. Since I was seated near the massive windows, I did really enjoyed the view of the bay.

I agree with Paul. We have not been here since 2012 and it is not the food quality from the prior years. The flat bread used with the smoked salmon was doughy and tasteless. The bun on the perch sandwich was day-old quality and the perch was over done and over breaded. The porterhouse steak had more fat than a cheap ribeye. Beyond the food, the place just looked shabby. If not for the attentive and friendly service from Bree, we would have walked out when the dinner was presented. On a bright side, the salads were fresh. Prior to leaving, we took the time to write this review on the ticket so the manager knew the experience was not up to expectations. In addition, we expressed hope they improve soon.
