We stayed here for two nights right after the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Since it was during the week there was practically nobody here, it was very quiet. The campground is full of trailers and motorhomes but nobody is there, I believe these people must be summer residents who come up from Florida to get out of the heat and are not up here yet. The campground is beautiful, there is a gorgeous pond, thick, green grass that is well-maintained, a lot of beautiful trees, flowers and professional landscaping. Most of the campsites are paved and even the ones that are not paved are level so it makes for easy set up of your RV. The bathhouse restrooms and showers are spotless. The showers are huge, which was a nice surprise. We really enjoyed this campground up until the second night when we discovered that it is located next to a railroad switching yard. We were awakened sometime after midnight by the loud noise of trains squealing, squeaking and literally ROARING along the tracks, along with the LOUD crashing of the trains hitching to each other. It was an exceptionally windy night to begin with and there had been tornado watches throughout the evening. The heavy wind was rocking our trailer around most of the night. But when we heard the extremely loud freight train sound, we thought we were in the path of an oncoming tornado! It scared me pretty badly, I was thinking we had better make a run to the bath house for protection. We checked radar quickly and discovered it wasn’t a tornado after all, looked across the pond and saw the trains. Good news and bad news, all at once. The trains roared for a couple of hours while the wind rocked us around a bit, but we finally got back to sleep. If you decide to camp here, look at Google maps satellite view to see where the trains are and do not get a campsite on that side of the campground. I believe we paid $ 54 a night for our site, which backed up to the pond. If you can put up with the sound of the trains several times during the day and night this is a beautiful campground.
